Thermapen One Digital Thermometer (Black)

I bought this thermometer because it was made in Britain (I avoid anything Chinese if I can) and because it uses standard-sized, easily available batteries. I went for a cheerful blue colour. I haven't used it very much so far and I am still getting used to just how sensitive it is. I find the automatic light, to enable you to see the readings, tends to come on and off and can't make its mind up if it is too dark to see, or not. Perhaps there is a way to keep it on all the time? These are minor niggles and overall I am very glad I bought it and I might well buy more as gifts in the future.

Take the guesswork out of "what's the right time and temperature". Whether it's a joint or steak or just reheating to "piping hot" -in the oven, in the microwave or on the BBQ, this tool will tell you when it's healthy and just ready to eat. I've given up on basic gadgets which are difficult to use and fall apart easily. This tool is easy to use & professional quality. Don't bother looking anywhere else. Get one(or preferably another one to give away when they do a special deal)!

This is a replacement for a Thermapen I had for about 10 years and left out in the rain by the BBQ and so it drowned. It is an indispensable piece of kit as it removes any doubt on whether the meat is cooked - whether in a barbecue or an oven. No more under or over done meant - you can take it off the heat at exactly the point you want it - rare/medium, whatever. Gives a clear reading in seconds. I would find it very hard now to cook meat without it.
