I’m 5’7”, 130lbs and bought the men’s small. I’m a woman, but was looking for a roomier jacket to layer over a chunky sweater. This works perfectly! Super warm and comfy, especially for how lightweight it is! Compressible to make it safe in the car too! Love this jacket! It’s still fall here, so haven’t used it in colder than -1degC, but it kept me toasty warm at that temp!

I've use it in the cold night camping and a little rain. Not sure how wet I'd trust to get it though.It's great warm packable jacket.The sleeves are elastic and will fit nice with gloves but can be a little loose on the wrist.When first putting the jacket on it is cold on the skin. The pockets are placed well.The hood could potentially fit a bump helmet underneath. It is a loud jacket can be a little noisy.

I am using my new puffy coat for everyday use like going to class or out at the store or even hiking. I love how it feels lightweight and yet I am still feeling really warm. I will say a big issue is for some reason the feathers in my coat are starting to come out through small holes which is very bad. I am not sure if all of them are like this or just mine in particular. Just make sure this is not a problem for you. Overall it's a solid coat, just don't like the quality defects for something so expensive.

I usually have to go up a size to get sleeves long enough but I took a chance ordering a medium based on the pics on the model and I wasn't disappointed. The new Dark Sage colour is beautiful, it's a "normal" fit so there's just enough room for a light hoodie underneath if desired, the material is soft and comfortable with some stretching, and the body length is perfect. So far I've only tested it in around zero Celsius temps with a light wind but it was very warm. I'm glad I ignored the couple of negative reviews I read and purchased the jacket. Highly recommended.
My husband bought this sam jacket in 2020. It quickly became a favorite. This last year our 17 year old son started borrowing it. Before long he was wearing it on a regular basis :) so I bought this jacket a second time so they both can have one of their own. Needless to say, this jacket works for an active 50 year old dad and an active teenage boy. It is very warm for all types of weather. You can't go wrong with this jacket.
I am so happy with this jacket. The fit is perfect. I wore it to my stepdaughter's final football game (she cheers). It was 35 degrees, raining, and I had to sit in a puddle on the bleachers. Honestly, everything was wet and numb except for my head and torso. I am so happy I got this thing. It is so light, but it really does the job with keeping you warm. Now, if this stupid summer-like weather would go away, I could maybe enjoy it more and spend some more time with it outside. Thanks, North Face! You never disappoint!
I purchased this jacket as a gift for my S/O, in the hopes that he would love it just as much as I love my North Face Nuptse 700 Jacket. Although this is a 550, it's still great.This jacket is perfect - it's not too thick but not to thin, keeps him very warm in the cold Bay Area winters and doesn't take up much room in the closet. One of my worries with it being a puffer jacket was that it could be very bulky and not convenient for storing or daily use. The elastic on the cuffs are perfect too because it feels more secure to the wrist, rather than most jackets which don't have the elastic and allow cold air to breeze in. The Aconcagua jacket is also super easy to clean; a great daily jacket.

I wanted something warmer but not too bulky, the parkas and Gotham seemed too big for me to wear here since it's usually not that cold in San Antonio during the winter these days. 30 degrees happens on some days but even then the weather can go high as 65. I like most things about this jacket. The Thyme color is great, it's warm, the pockets are behind a layer of down so those are good too. What I dislike is the sizing and fit. I got a small which is my size in 80% of what I buy, and the remaining 20% of the time I'm a medium. I got a small in this jacket, and not only is it incredibly barrel-shaped, the waist and jacket are so billowy on me that it sits off my body a lot of the time. If I wore this as an outer layer with a substantial shirt - sweater - jacket combo underneath, it would fit correctly. But it's not marketed as being sized as an outer layer, and so that frustrates me a bit.
Considering this is my first time experiencing winter in Michigan, and that this is my first puffer jacket, this is a very warm puffer jacket even while feeling very light. It does get hot and I would suggest to begin use below 40 degrees as it does get very hot. Although it isn't as cold as it gets right now in Michigan, with layering it held me very warm today for a 20 minute walk at 25 degrees. I think the range for this jacket is between 40-20 degrees. I love the style and the way the jacket feels. You can't go wrong with this puffer. It protects heavily against wind, which was my biggest problem before I had this jacket. A normal cotton hoodie, the cold goes through, but with this The North Face puffer, no cold at all. Excellent value for the price!
