The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe Softening Shaving Cream for Men

This shaving cream is FANTASTIC!! It hit all the marks for slickness, cushion and post shave feel. It can be used with or without a shaving brush. I use a brush with it and it whips up a thick, yogurt-like lather. Three little dabs is all you need for two great passes (I do a with the grain pass and an against the grain pass). You use so little of it, it should last you a year or so. I highly recommend this shaving cream!

I’m a big fan of the body shop products, they are super beneficial and always as described. I like to use this shave cream because it makes my skin hydrated, doesn’t cause skin irritation, and smells very good. I definitely recommend it.

Okay. This is the OG GOAT MVP for shaving. No poop. I am not pulling your leg or any other of your appendages. Whenever body shop has a sale, I buy 6 of these and stock them up. It’s amazing on my husbands sensitive Scottish skin, and it’s great on my legs and underarms too. I have to admit my lady parts like it too. The container lasts a really long time too.

Even better than the original

Sometimes products do evolve and it's a wonderful thing - this is such an example. I've used The Body Shop's shaving cream forever. It is BY FAR the best. A little bit harder paste one used only a little and lathered it on your wet face. Took a little effort, but easy enough and fabulous.This update seems to add a little more moisture to it, so it is much softer and creamier. In the end, just as good as the original, but you'll use a little more and the lathering effort is simplified.Thanks Body Shop - never stop making this incredible shaving cream!!!

I have purchased this and the other macca shaving cream for several years. They are the only shaving creams that I will use. I have thick, fast growing facial hair. In less than 3 weeks I can look like a full-fledged manly lumberjack. Most shaving creams have not been satisfying—they might be too lightweight to cover the stubble, or they fail to significantly moisture the stubble prior to shaving, or they leave my skin dried out after I finish the shave. This product works great. Thick, thorough coverage, that fully moisturizes the hair and makes the intensely macho stubble easy to cut and achieve a close shave. I've loved this product for 20+ years

Best shave cream on the market, but I think it's time to shop for something different. YEARS ago, they had a 100ml tube that was perfect for traveling. Then they started making the tube in a larger size, so you couldn't pack it in a carry on any longer. But the oversize tube was easy enough to squeeze into TSA compliant tube. Well, now they've discontinued the tube all together. I'm not going to fight with trying to get the product from the tub into a travel tube. I may continue to keep a tub at home, but I definitely need to shop for a new travel product.

New formula is disappointing

For years, the original Maca Root shave cream was the ONLY product I would use, as it provided an incredibly close and smooth shave with no irritation after.The new formula, which includes Aloe, is less effective. The shave is less close (shadow appears sooner) without the previous astringent effect, and while it leaves my face feeling moisturized, it has also resulted in acne-like irritation.Since the original formula is no longer available, I will need to look elsewhere for a new shaving cream.

Not what it used to be.

I have used their Maca Root Shave cream for several years and been pleased with the product. I am not as enthused about the new formulation. While it looks better being pure white it lacks the lubricating properties of the previous formulation. This requires using more quantity at each shave and is less value for the money. Please return to the creamy yellow formulation that was the best product ever made for heavy beards.

PLEASE Bring back the tube version

***** for the product* for the tub containerLove this product, but shaving in the shower with the tub container is problematic. Why are you no longer making the product in tubes? For years I bought the tubes in quantity (household of men) but unfortunately had to switch to Kiehls when you discontinued your product in tubes. Sad, because your product is BETTER. “Hopefully” you’ll bring back the tube version. Please, please do.

The Root of the Matter

I always liked the Maca Root shave cream: easy to lather, excellent cushioning, and great aftershave feel. Only thing I was not crazy about was the fragrance. Seems like people either like it or are so-so. This new version still carries the same fragrance, but I find it more subdued. I believe most Maca Root users will be pleased with this version. For me, an added bonus is the new men's moisturizer. It has a very nice, subdued citrus scent which covers the faint shaving cream scent. Together, they are a wonderful combination. Hard to find a better shave cream at the sale, or even the full price.
