The big selling point for this saucepan and frying pan set is a removable handle which makes it easier to use it in different ways. It's brilliant that you can transfer either pan from hob to the oven and detach the handle. It's easier to fit the pans into the oven and much safer that you're not having to grab a hot handle. Alternatively, it avoids having to transfer to a different container. The 'clip on and off' is easy to use and totally reliable in our experience.Another thing is that having the detachable handle makes it surprisingly easy to store and fit in the dishwasher compared to a traditional pan.A small point is that it can be a little difficult to clean the handle inside the metal clip as due to the way it's designed, food can get inside. However the detachable handle is still absolutely worth it.Another feature that hasn't been such a game changer is the temperature indicator. Nice idea but not something we've particularly found helpful when you've been cooking for a while! Both pans disperse heat extremely well and the 'non stick' coating is very effective. The frying pan size is perfect to cook bolognese or pasta for a family of 4. The pans are lighter than an equivalent cast iron set but still quite bulky, but probably to be expected given the quality. The detachable handle really is one of those things that you didn't know you needed and we now wouldn't want to do without! We'd whole heartedly recommend having these pans compared to traditional ones. In fact, we'll be looking to add other sizes.

These pans are a fantastic addition to the kitchen. The non-stick coating is of a good quality and washing them a breeze. Having just had a new kitchen with an induction hob for the first time it was great to see how easily they worked, also being able to transfer them directly to the oven with the clip-on handle was great. Pan frying chicken breasts on the hob and being able to pop them straight into the oven to finish cooking without having to transfer them to an oven proof dish was a real bonus, and saved on the washing up! I was unsure whether I would feel confident carrying a hot pan of potatoes across the kitchen to drain using just the clip on handle, but it felt very secure and robust, attaching with a good satisfying click! Detaching the handle was straight forward and simple, with the large red buttons depressing easily whatever your motor skills may be. As for storing them away, they are really compact and easy to store. For anyone with kids at University, or with limited space in the kitchen cupboards, these would be ideal as they are really compact and multi-purpose (hob and oven). The round saucepan/baking tin was so versatile. I baked a sponge cake without lining the tin first, just to check how well the non-stick coped, the cake came away with ease, and the pan cleaned up easily. I would definitely recommend these pans.

The set consists of two pans, the first being a non-stick frying pan and the other a non-stick saucepan, both with the signature Tefal 'spot' in the middle to gauge the heat of the pans. The third piece is a detachable handle which can be attached to either of the pans.Generally the pans are effective cooking utensils, the non-stick is good and they are of a sufficient size to cater for most cooking requirements. The detachable handle however, whilst effective at reducing the space needed in cupboards to store the set, has within 6 weeks already behaved temperamentally. The button press (to attach and detach the handle) has occasionally 'stuck' so you cannot attach the handle to the pans. The button press (to attach and detach the handle) has occasionally 'stuck' so you cannot attach the handle to the pans. On occasion I have had to press multiple times, with some force, and even calling on others in order to open the mechanism to attach the handle. This appears to have abated somewhat, perhaps this is an early teething problem when the mechanism is new and more 'stiff', and does not occur on every occasion. However, it is something you remain conscious of when using the set, especially when the pans are hot and you are moving food around. The set could also benefit from including a lid for the saucepan, rounding the set off and completing a true 3 piece set, rather than the handle being included within the total number of pieces, which is an essential in order to utilise the set. These relatively minor points aside, the pans are of a good quality and generally appear that they would stand the test of time.
I have previously used Tefal products, but moved to Le Creuset as I thought they were more heavy duty. My opinion changed with this product though - they are light but appear to be very durable so far. Cooking performance was good - I used these on a gas hob and appeared to cook evenly. The massive win here is the removable handle, making cooking easier and storage take up such less room. The handle is very easy to attach and remove - crucially this can be done one handed and I was able to do so with my weaker hand too. Flicking the handle between pans became natural very quickly.I'll definitely be buying a couple of more things from this range.
This pan heats quickly, indicates that it's hot, and can seamlessly go between the oven and our induction hob, to the table, without worrying about the handle as it's so easily removed. This is both the USP and the key downside - the removable handle. A click of a button releases the clamp holding the pieces together, but I found that with normal pans I simply put them in the dishwasher, but I was hesitant to do so because of the mechanism in this instance, leading me to wash the handle up by hand. Because of the "complex" clamp with button release, cleaning in the nooks and crannies was more challenging. It's a simple problem but I found it increased my clean up time, if only by 5 more minutes. The other issue with it is that it's expensive. It's a simple problem but I found it increased my clean up time, if only by 5 more minutes. The other issue with it is that it's expensive. I've only had the pan for a few weeks so cannot comment on whether the coating wears off, but they're expensive to replace and the handles and pans are sold separately. What happens if we don't have enough handles? How many handles do I need to buy for the pans? Is it a 1-to-1 ratio or can I buy fewer handles than I have pans?Too much thinking and planning needed for my tired mum brain!
I purchased a two frying pan set which came with one handle. A couple of months ago the handle refused to release from one if the pans and it was a struggle to get it off. I had to be quite forceful, it finally came off but the frying pan isn't quite round anymore. The handle still sometimes refuses to release and I have even tried WD40! I have looked on other suppliers websites and the handle problem appears to be quite common. Cannot give 5 stars but I do like the frying pans which I always wash by hand.
Before using for the first time, they recommend that you wash and coat with cooking oil. I did this. The pan works quite well as a non-stick pan. As it can go up to high temperatures, you can get a decent sear on meat (see photo). However, the hourglass in the centre which is supposed to indicate when the pan is hot does not work very well. I left it for 10 mins on high heat to see if it would disappear but as you can see below, it just fades a little rather than disappear when the pan is hot.As a non-stick pan, it does the job of being non-stick (fried eggs slid off perfectly) but also has the advantage of being able to go to high temperatures and into the oven, which is better than most non-sticks out there. However, note that this pan does not come with a ... MoreBefore using for the first time, they recommend that you wash and coat with cooking oil. I read reviews saying that the handle marks the pan and that it melts over heat. I bought a handle regardless as I needed to stabilise the pan when moving food around the pan. I was careful and has not marked the pan so far. It also did not get hot over my gas fire.It is technically dishwasher safe but they recommend that you hand wash for longevity. I took that to mean that it's not really dishwasher-safe.
The pan feels, looks and cooks the part! A fantastic addition to the Ingenio range that uses the standard detachable handle and can be stacked with the multi-piece sets.Once seasoned, the non-stick coating deals well with most things we've thrown in it though, like with all the pans we've had, a knob of butter or sprays of oil are advisable when frying eggs. The Bakelite handle sits well in your hand, distributing the weight of the aluminium pan perfectly. It's by no means heavy, especially when compared to stainless steel or cast iron, it just has a much better balance and fit which gives you confidence when moving between hob, oven and serving. Safe to 250°C, the versatility of being able to move between these, without fear of melting a 'fixed' handle or your hand, is a game changer.Like with any 'finished' kitchenware nowadays, I'd recommended hand washing rather than subject it to the aggressive cleaning power of dishwasher tablets, but this never feels a chore and doesn't take much with the non-stick surfaces more durable than the Prestige Thermo Smart range we had last. I'd also never use anything but silicone/wooden utensils despite the anti-scratch qualities - it might be Titanium, but why risk it?We stack away as designed, which is a great space saver, separating each with a felt protector and look forward to these lasting for years to come.
What I loved the most about these pans was the flexibility on a busy evening to be able to start something on the hob and then transfer it to the oven. The pans are weighty, and seem to conduct the heat really well. Using both at once on the hob is tricky it you want to give one a quick stir hut the handle is on the other pan. Just a little fiddly.2. The handle gets a little mucky inside the clip on if clipping on while cooking, but in no way is a little tricker washing up a deal breaker on such a great product. My only to top would be, if you're buying a set then get a couple of handles to just do faffing switching between sets.
