I have to downgrade my previous review. I remember this tea quite some time ago when it actually had chocolate in it, and it really was a spicy chocolate tea. Not any more, close inspection of the tea, like spreading in onto a dish, fails to reveal any chocolate at all. Is this a cost cutting exercise or just false advertising? I will not be buying this any more.

I read the reviews here after having ordered this tea, and thought I must be rather bad, since some people say that the clove flavour is way too strong and the chocolate flavour artificial. After trying the tea, however, I find it very tasty, with a good amount of cloves but not too much. The chocolate flavour is obviously artificial (no real cacao shells here) but nevertheless tastes pleasant enough. I like this tea with some frothy almond milk and natural sweetener, as a chai latte.

Warning, fragrant with a hint of dark chocolate. Very delicious, perfect with hot milk. I also made a custard with half milk, half milky Choc Chip Chai tea for bread and butter pudding with brown bread and apricot jam! Very moreish! Could be refreshing cold over ice on a hot day.

I remember this tea being more “chochlity” than it is now. Has the choc been cut back? Also, as with many other favourite teas I want the option to buy larger quantities.Selling so many teas in those cute little boxes means 1. Higher cost, 2. More waste in packaging, also more paper used more plastic. Nice packaging, but wasteful and costly. Why not cut this all down and pass on savings to customers with bulk quantities?
This tea sounded delicious, and smells really good (it’s so strong I could smell it before opening the box). However it tastes awful, so strong, overly spiced, just disgusting I’m afraid. I so wish I hadn’t spent £8 on it! I had added honey, as it suggests, added a little more because of it tasting so bad, no improvement, just the strong pungent taste. I forced a few sips, and had to tip it down the drain.
Could get past three sips of this before throwing it away. Just tastes of cloves and nothing else. Have picked all of the cloves out of the loose leaf mix now but it still just stinks of cloves and doesn’t taste even remotely like chai. It’s going in the bin after one cup.
I am a huge chai lover and this was my absolute favourite chai. I found this to just be different and exciting, it's kind of like hot chocolate meets chai (especially with vanilla almond milk). It was very warming and spicy and gently chocolately and it just felt very comfy.Holding a big mug of choc chip chai felt very comforting and the aromas made me feel very calm and cozy. Drinking this felt like a hug on the inside.Usually I make my tea with honey but I found this to be perfect without any hint of honey or any sweeteners at all. This is my all time favourite chai and I would recommend to any chai lovers.
I usually prefer green tea over black tea and chai is the only exception. However, this is my favorite chai by far! The balance of spices is beautiful and this tea always brightens my mood after long day. I strongly recommend searching the T2 site for the chocolate chai milk shake recipe, it makes chai a perfect summer treat so you don’t have to wait until autumn to indulge in this heavenly brew. Simply love it!
Purchased on 18/3. Opened on 7/4. And wow. I was looking around my kitchen for the pungent smell; I couldn’t place it initially. It definitely was ‘chai’. It wasn’t until I took my first sip of tea that I realised it was cloves. And that’s all this tea is. Cloves. There is no other spices or flavours whatsoever. I’m not sure whether I got a dud batch where the cloves hadn’t been mixed properly and my little bag came from the unmixed corner but I’m severely disappointed. This tea is undrinkable (unless you happen to enjoy drinking spicy perfume. I do not).
I bought this tea almost 2 months ago and I've only brewed it twice now. There is NO actual chocolate in this, just artificial flavouring which leaves the whole tea tasting artificial and just plain yuck. For 16 dollars for a TINY box, how is it acceptable to be flavouring tea so artificially? Is it that hard to use cocoa husks or something instead? The packing is pretty misleading too, it makes you think its choc full of yummy choc chips - not yucky artificial flavourings. I usually love T2 teas but this one really missed the mark.
