Suunto Eon Core Black
The Suunto EON Core is the latest dive computer to join the elite ranks of Suunto's diverse range of dive computers, bringing many of the features found in the premium EON Steel but in a smaller and lighter format. Smaller and lighter it may be, but it doesn't lack in capability with Air, Nitrox, Gauge, Trimix and CCR dive modes which use the Suunto Fused RGBM decompression model. The EON Core is compact and comfortable to use. Much of the size difference between the EON Core and Steel is to do with the thinner and lighter reinforced composite housing that has a depth rating of 80m, more than ample for recreational divers. The three push buttons have also been moved to the side of the computer to make the EON Core fit better on the wrist for divers wearing thinner wetsuits or rash guards. Whilst the Eon Core is fitted with an elastomer strap it is also supplied with a bungee strap kit. The EON Core still features the straightforward and easy to read full-colour LED-backlit display that features customisable screens with four pre-configured display modes that provide large digits and dive information. The screen automatically rotates depending on the orientation of the dive computer. The screen also makes excellent use of the 3D tilt compensating compass that makes navigation so simple. The Suunto Eon Core uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides 10 to 20 hours of diving from a full charge. Charging is kept simple and can be recharged from any USB socket with varying speeds depending on the port output. The Eon Core supports wireless air integration and is capable of pairing with up to 10 Tank Pods. The Core can also be connected to a PC / Mac using Suunto Dive Manager for data transfer and software updates or to a smart device via Bluetooth for dive profile synchronisation using the Suunto Movescount app.

I recently bought this dive computer to replace my Suunto Vyper Air. Things have certainly moved on, and the EON Core is a well designed bit of kit. I have yet to use it on a dive, but first impressions are good: the display is very clear and in colour, you can customise the screens to what you want, and it is easy to navigate around the functions. The size is perfect - not too small, but big enough to have a decent sized screen without being cumbersome.Note: the air transmitter that is used with the Vyper Air does not work with the EON Core, so you need to factor in purchase of a compatible one.I found the strap to be very long (much longer than the Vyper Air strap). I've been waiting for this to come up at the right price with the pod included and I've finally bought one. Added bonus to get the padded pouch and the free gift (very nice power bank).I didn't need (or so I thought) to upgrade from my old Vyper Air, I just liked the look of it and fancied treating myself. After unpacking and playing with it for a few days I cannot believe the difference, what an amazing bit of kit.I won't go on about all the amazing features it has as there's plenty of praising (and justified) reviews out there already. All I would say is that if you are thinking of buying one then this is the bundle to get and the dive shop to buy it from. You certainly wont be disappointed. As ever top service from Mikes Dive Store.

Bought this computer with transmitter for my wife who used it this weekend to pass her PADI open Water. As an experienced diver I wanted her to have a good quality and easy to read device and boy did this computer deliver. First impressions where how compact it was compared to other colour screens I have used. The menu is simple to use and get used to even for a beginner. The wife is looking forward to using it more in the Red Sea later in the year but will be using again soon for her AOW.Delivery as always with Mike's was first class and spot on. Thanks again guys

I purchased this computer for my son who was certified this summer. I used to have one, but gave it to my daughter when I purchased an EON Steel for the larger screen. Now both kids have the same type of computer, so everyone is on the same algorithm. Love the computer's intuitive menu and how easy it is for newer divers to use, plus the depth of features that will support the kids as they advance in their diving journey is great. This computer works just as well in a drysuit and thick gloves in Puget Sound as it does on warm water trips. I highly recommend it.
Firstly - great deal!Secondly - always speedy delivery with Mike's store. I paid for express, and got it in less than 24 hours from ordering.Thirdly - Team is always keen to help and asnwer questions.LASTLY - Eon Core:Lovely computer. Just did 7 dives at Chepstow. It is easy to operate, quick to charge. It feels like it can progress with your diving career (definitely for all your recreational diving + some tech). DM5 software allows customisation of the display screens (super EASY!). I changed the display to full brightness (which then reduced the battery life to 14hours of diving). The display is clear, good to see underwater (very powerful). Computer is light, but feels robust. It came with the screen protector which I applied. There was also a charging cable (magnetic) and bungee cord with hinges? (the plastic bits). Tank pod is easy to connect, and connects with the computer automatically (just needs to be held closely to the pod). I would recommend following SUUNTO how to videos on youtube, devoted to EON Core. I have always been reluctant to use the compass on the dive comp - but this one is large enough to see, and easy to follow (you can also set bearings). One thing I will be changing is to move the pod, to a short HP hose, instead of attaching it directly to the 1st stage. I feel that it could be accidently grabbed/bent as it is very close to the cylinder valve. So far, no negatives. My only consideration is how long the rechargeable batter will last. I hope few years before replacing (then I suppose it needs to be replaced b y suunto or other specialist?).
The computer itself seems to be good quality end easy to use. However it's very disappointing that suunto didn't packed a hard shell case with such a expensive product.
Very happy. Four dives so far. UK. Nice large clear screen, easy to read. Easy to use underwater. Setting up the POD is very simple. Love the Bluetooth to upload my dive to logs and the Suunto appEnough functionality for me to grow my diving skills. It is a very good value bundle to suit divers who are not ready to commit to a Perdix or Steel. Having the POD and actually knowing your air consumption on dives is very useful. I don't see myself going too far down the technical route and the EON suits me just fine.
My Sunnto Vyper has served me well over the last 10 years and 500 dives, always reliable and suited my needs. However, as I progess towards more technical diving in more challenging conditions it was time for an updgrade. The EON core suited my needs the bright colour display is easy to read in low vis and night dives, on board compass and integrated cylinder pressure puts all essential data immediatly to hand. Customisably display allows me to see the data I want. It has all the features like multiple gas switching I am goingto need for the future. Excellent value and service from Mikes Dive Store
What a bargain! Not only did the dive computer come with the pod and no extra cost, Mike's chucked in a pouch and a charging pebble. When it stated free gift, I thought that was the Pod. It was like Christmas. Fast delivery, great communication. Perfect Service. Thanks.
The truth is, it works amazingly.Great computer with exceptionally clear visual display. Easy to configure and to review dives on laptop. It is very well visualized and has all the very accessible and easy-to-use configuration in just 3 buttons, both for Air and Nitrox. It's just a pity that Suunto programs for mac or pc when downloading, storing and viewing dives leave a lot to be desired.
