Chromebook to this adapter and then client using the VGA with no success. Horrible product at this point as we have a large percentage of issues out of the 25 of these we purchased. Contacting Startech now to see if they can help as our client is not happy.

I give this item a overall 4 stars for the following reasons: I have tried every port excepts for the VGA and it all works great however, there's something with this name brand product that if I use the C port with my phone, it does not charge the phone but, it trys to charge the device itself and because of this, it kills the power the pc is supplying to the HUB and cuts everything off from it. However, the USB A ports work fine and if I plug a SSD in the USB C port it does fine too. Let me take a moment and tell you all that I have tested. I then unplug the phone again and everything came back on. So then I decided to test the ethernet, audio jack, and the SD card slot and it all worked as I figured. However, I still do not like how the audio jack sounds. My final thoughts. This is a wonderful HUB if you are limited to ports, but I think it should of had more USB A and C ports instead of an hdmi port as the pc already has an hdmi port. Anyways, also their USB C port I don't know how they design it but, I know it is not made for Android devices(Or at least not made for S21U) for some reason. As I haven't said but, my iPad has no problem connecting to it. Is it worth the given price? I'd say it really depends on how it holds up on heavy useages for months to years, but there are others that have working USB C ports with my phone and more USB A ports which I find more useful. However, as this product had what I knew it had and all ports work excepts when connecting my phone, it is a nice HUB to have. I got this for my daughters MacBook as you already know is short on inputs. It has nearly every port you could ever need including VGA and HDMI outputs. I haven't put this thing through all the test yet but it sure seems to fill the gap of missing ports on the MacBook. This is a must own product for every MacBook owner.
Keep this hand little travel dock with you. It is up-to-date to connect you with the very latest technology. Handy small travel size can easily fit in you pocket.
StarTech has a quality device here. It is flexible over a range of port connectors. Unless your home device has a USB-C port, this device is of little use. Otherwise, it is a powerful charger and a useful expansion of your device across everything from ethernet and HDMI to other USB as well as audio. The documentation is not the best, nor is their website. But most connections are simple.
The Good: Seems to have every port known to modern man. I use it mainly to connect to projection systems in different churches where I give presentations with my MacBook Pro. Nice that I don't have to have a separate dongle to connect to either HDMI or VGA. I Also need the USB-a port to connect my wireless presenter and the USB-c to power my laptop. This gets it all done with one unit. This item has a very sturdy feel to it. The brushed aluminum cover feels like an elephant could stand on it. The cord is fairly stiff and does not appear to be susceptible breakage even after half a lifetime of use. The Bad: I'm picky, but so far I have nothing bad to say about this item. If anything comes up, I'll revise my review. Conclusion: Great product. I know of none better.
I have had this Multiport Adapter over a year and it has worked as expected and very flexible as to interfaces.
