I use this with a 2015 MacBook Air which i bought after my 2012 retina MBPro was destroyed in an accident (costing my thousands in damages and a costly surgery on my right shoulder). It works great since I have to use FireWire, Thunderbolt HDDs and Ethernet at the same time. Can carry enough power through it to use ethernet (Apple recognizes right away) along with one SATA/USB 3.0 1TB SSD and a mouse so I can have it all (expansion, storage and networking plus connectivity to FireWire cameras like the Sony HDR-FX1. I can't recommend enough since it works on both the OS X and the Windows 10 side easily. Also light and just the right space. Grab it if you also want an extra gigabit port for reliability, connections or to make a router.

Love this. Lesson learned that you need to either look at or ask questions when you purchase a new laptop. Working from home and works better when you can direct connect to your router.
