I bought the 4k60hz model so I could switch between my laptop for school and my gaming rig. I have no issues running 3440x1440p with freesync with no image issues so far. I had to do some trickery with the usb as my keyboard has a second usb for a passthrough and there are not extra usb ports for additional usb. Nothing major I just use it to charge my phone. Switching is quick under 5 seconds for the monitor to swap over and my keyboard and mouse have no issues aside from windows saying it is setting them up everytime. again nothing major. the only major issue I have with it is the audio passthrough. there is so much interference from the usb that I cannot use my headphones from the kvm. so I have to swap my headphones anytime I want to use the other computer.

I recently upgraded too a 4k monitor and my old HDMI switch wasn't capable of handling 4k resolution, so I decided to buy a DisplayPort 4k 60 Hz KVM. I tried another brand (2 computer switch) that was slightly cheaper and it didn't work well. My screen would flicker every 10 to 15 seconds, so this was unacceptable to me. There weren't many options for DisplayPort 4k KVM that were economical. So I gave StarTech.com 2 Port DisplayPort KVM Switch as it was pretty much the only economical choice left. It works really well and I am very satisfied with the purchase. I definitely would recommend this product.

If you use the same desk for your personal computer and have a work-issued your computer, this can help you switch the two easily so you can use the same mouse and keyboard and monitor instead of fiddling with cables. This will do that and with nice displayport quality as well. There's a little flickering during the switch, and if you use a specific kind of mouse for ergonomic reasons, make sure you test well before the return period is up.

It seems to fully disconnect the monitor in the eyes of the OS (windows 10) this means that the computer switches all the desktops to the second monitor when I switch to see my laptop to check emails. slightly frustrating.
KVM works as it should. Had no issues with the product itself. Swapping PCs takes a few seconds in total. You can swap computers with the included button or by using Scroll Lock - Scroll Lock. The only downfall for me is that StarTech's offerings don't have EDID Emulation for DisplayPorts. If you want to maintain your screens after swapping PCs, you need to purchase an EDID Emulator to hold the connection. Keep this in mind if things swapping to another monitor causes you issues, like it does me. It can crash some applications/games without an emulator in place to mimic the display. Picture is clear and I was able to run my ultrawide 3440x1440 LCD at 144hz through it.
Summary: Great value for the money. I've had previous KVM devices from startech specifically though have troubles with cable flex causing internal disconnects so I'm hoping the thicker built in plugs retain their life.. Either way for $100 and a 2 year warranty, this has the exact features I was looking for. KVM setup specifics: I have a gaming PC hooked up with a GTX 1080 and the KVM displayport output goes to a gsync 144hz display at 2560x1440. Able to get full gsync and display looks great, no input delay that I can tell. My second machine is a macbook pro that has a USB-C to female display port dongle (needed only because the KVM has attached cables, could not use existing USB-C to male cable that I had) and likewise have no issues with display or USB. On the mac side, it would be nice if USB "wakes" the device from sleep like a bluetooth device would but you can workaround by keeping mac always on during sleep or just open the lid briefly when you switch over. This may be an issue for Windows laptops as well, I only have a desktop for comparison.
This is my third KVM switch that I bought and the first one that finally works! The previous ones all had dropouts and flickering on my monitor, which is a 3440x1440 Asus pg348q with 100hz refresh rate. This one finally doesn't and works as expected. Could be the fact that it's rated at 4k@60hz, could also be that I just got unlucky and the others had bad cables. Only minus is that the 3.5mm audio cable has lots of buzzing noise in it, and there's no obvious way to ground it.
