I love it. The strap is nice and long. Unadjusted it fell to my knees and I’m 5’5. Kept my water cool all day and was easy to clean. Totally spill proof. Realize, this is not double-walled so it will not keep your ice for hours and hours— but that’s actually a pro for me considering I used to lug around a 64oz bottle that, when full of ice, sounded like I was carrying marbles around all day. That it was loud was an understatement. This is not. It’s slim so it doesn’t get knocked around when worn. Took it to walk the dog and to work and found it really convenient to carry my water and still be hands free to hold the harness and carry stuff in and out of my building. I made an impulse purchase of two of these canteens without reading the product description. I was drawn to the idea of having a canteen, especially as a Disneyland passholder. However, these canteens lack insulation, which became apparent on our first trip. The water stayed cold during the commute, but by the time we reached the park, it was at room temperature. I even tried using ice on subsequent trips, but the canteens ended up being quite sweaty.Another downside is the clanking noise they make when they’re against your body. Sadly, these canteens aren’t as economical as I had hoped. On a positive note, I’ve had great experiences with other Stanley products I’ve purchased.

I just got the canteen a short while ago so I haven't used it yet. But I was waiting quite a while to get one so I was glad to see Stanley finally started producing them again. I will probably just be using it for hikes in the spring and summer months. I'm sure it will do the job. Obviously you have plenty of options for carrying liquid refreshment. This just strikes me as a fun, throwback approach. If you like taking a different approach, and the nostalgia of a canteen appeals to you, go for it.

Although this canteen looks really nice and is a great size for a hike and has an adjustable strap, I would not recommend this product. I filled it with water and ice, the canteen immediately got condensation on the outside.I purchased the cream color and clothing does color transfer. My blue Jean shorts stained it permanently. It doesn’t keep water cold, the outside leaks out to clothing by condensation, and it doesn’t stay a pretty cream color. There is really no point in this product unless you just want it for the looks.

I got the plain stainless. Solid canteen. Seems durable. No dents after short drops, etc. No leakage issues, great capacity. "Two stage" cap is nice and convenient. Haven't tried to boil water with it but I have no concerns with the steel's ability to handle campfire coals. Fits all right in an old military issue canteen pouch (YMMV). Unmodified, the points where the strap connects rattle and squeak obnoxiously when hiking. Would be nice if it had the classic kidney shape to make it compatible with canteen nesting cups, etc... or if Stanley sold their own line of such canteen accessories. I found the factory strap garish and a bit uncomfortable so I cut off the clasps and reused them to make a different one. Despite these minor gripes, I would nevertheless recommend ... I love the look of the canteen, being in the military, we’re not always allowed to carry around Non-military issued water sources. So this one helps to get around that rule. So o don’t have to drink from the plastic canteens that are difficult to fully disinfect. My only negative experience with the product is, it is not insulted like a normal Stanley, so the temp isn’t long lasting and condensation form on the outside of the container. But still love mine because of the style. Highly recommend to military members.
I was very excited for this product but have been completely disappointed in it. I should have read the product description better because I assumed it would be as insulated as my larger Stanley cup (with the straw...yes, I was INFLUENCED!) but this has essentially no insulation. So, it doesn't stay cold at all, even if you put a ton of ice in it, and, because of the ice inside it will sweat as soon as you walk outside on a sunny day. Which means then I have damp spots on my clothes from where it rubs against. And without insulation there's absolutely no way I could put hot beverages in here, which the packaging is very clear about. All in all, cute but won't keep water cold for long. It will be great for mild days...which we in Texas have about three times a year.

As for the metal clinking noise, I'll say we got a green on and a metal one and the metal one is noticeably louder than the green which has a paint coating on the body. So, if you want to minimize the noise do not get the all metal one. I love the top, yes it can be tricky to open but not for more than a few days then you will find the top does really well at keeping liquid in while also providing a finger hold to carry it around that is super sturdy. I really wanted to like this but the plastic "clasp" that holds the top lid is such a pain to get to line up every time. I am not sure why I thought this would be easier to use , but such is life. I accept my mistake in buying it.I hope some day they release a replacement top for it that is either fabric or something different for the clasp.The metals on it are high quality and the strap is great. Everything would be perfect if not for the cheap badly designed plastic clasp.
