Stanley 940ml Classic Green

I had to use the warranty on the older version of this product (35 years or so older version). The new ones are smaller even though the 24oz quantity is the same, so I was skeptical of the heat retention ability of the new one... After extensive testing this last year I'm happy to report the new version does an excellent job, just as it's predecessor had for many years. I work outside year round,and play there as well.The customer service that I dealt with to get the warranty replacement was top notch. I received my replacement product in 3 days as the customer service rep. had stated. I would recommend this product (and several others I have) to all.

Awesome as a thermos, crappy as a food jar.

Why this is called a food jar is beyond me - this is just another thermos. A food jar is supposed to have a wider opening so you can actually eat straight out of it if you wanted to without needing to use a freaking stirring spoon. You can’t even wash it using your hand inside because your hand will not fit inside - which complicates things even more if you’re traveling. I bought this hoping to replace the cheaper food jars from other brands I’ve had for years now from Amazon and this is truly a poor replacement. Yes, this is Stanley quality and guarantee, keeps things piping hot for over 20 hours, I like that it fits a lot…so in summary, it’s a great thermos and a really crappy food jar.

I was using it wrong…

I use this for my coffee and tea… I had NO IDEA this was for food. I work in a warehouse and need something to keep my drinks warm so that I stay warm. This SHOCKED me! It kept my drinks HOT as though I just poured them! I looked everywhere for this exact one to buy more and low and ended up having to look on the website. I mean, its works this amazing and I wasn't even using it correctly!

Keeps Food Pipin Hot!

I got this food jar for my boyfriend for when he's at school or on the job. He says the more liquidy the goodies are, the hotter they stay in the Stanley. He wishes the mouth opening was a bit wider as it can be tricky to get food into the jar sometimes without some spillage. Overall a dope purchase! Love the textured green color. We hope it lasts for years to come!

Maintains Temperature Very Well

I was really impressed with this Stanley-PMI food jar. I first used it to hold cold water on a family hike in 95 degree weather. After two hours on the trail, there was still ice in the water. The lid that functions as a cup made it easy to drink out of this jar, and it's big enough that my whole family could enjoy the cold water. A few days later, my husband used this to take some leftover spaghetti to work. Sure enough, he said it was still hot when he sat down to eat his lunch hours later. This is going to be really useful for the days that he wants a hot lunch but isn't near a microwave. This product worked really well to maintain desired temperatures, whether hot or cold. Some Like It Hot, Some Like It Cold

The 1.0 QT Stanley-PMI CLASSIC LEGENDARY FOOD JAR I received has mostly performed to expectations, though I'm not entirely convinced that it would survive a 4,000 foot drop during a freezing hurricane.Though the instruction manual comes in 12 languages, it doesn't provide any suggestions for what foods would perform best in the food jar (e.g. could I use it to make my own ice cream?) and only mentions foods that might cause excessive pressure buildup. The care guide also makes repeated mention of a "pressure release valve" without specifying what it looks like or how/why a human user would ever ingest it.As for the food jar's insulative properties, I'm slightly disappointed on both hot and cold fronts. One cup of piping hot vegetable soup stayed piping hot after an hour in my first test. After finishing the soup from the first test, I filled the food jar halfway with the same piping hot soup, screwed the stopper shut, and then forgot about it. After five hours, the soup was no longer piping hot, but still warmer than room temperature. I poured out half of the soup and stoppered the rest for later. After another three hours, the soup had completely assumed room temperature. I later conducted a similar test with iced coffee, and the results were more or less similar.I realize this is all very unscientific without a food thermometer, but 8 hours of insulation is a far cry from the 20+ hours advertised on the cardboard sleeve which also claims that the food jar can stop bullets. This food jar is still better than any standard thermos I've ever used, so I would still recommend it.

Stanley Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Food Jar

I have always wanted/needed a Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Food Jar, cause i would take my food out to places in a regular jar & food gets cold! So frustrating. Lol. So glad to finally see this Stanley Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Food Jar. I cook lot of things i can put in this food jar, that keeps my foods so hot, that don't get cold, which includes soups, stews, oatmeal, canned foods. I put my fruits & veggies in here as well & nice & fresh/cold. Also i can store cold drinks & they keep it so cold, which is the way i like it! Easy to fill & clean out. Love the insulation & stainless steel. Good quality. I love the 24oz size! Great food jar! Stanley thermos

Great purchase. I use it for my daughters lunches. Soup stays warm for about 4-5 hours. Warm liquids seem to last longer. Warm meals or pieces of warm food last about 4 hours. The only food I put in and wasn’t successful was small pieces of pizza. They got cold pretty fast. It’s easy to wash and care for.

Sturdy and useful

Love this thing. Upon receiving it, I didn’t have anything hot/warm to put in it to try it right away, so I put some iced drink in it just to test out the insulation. It lasted several hours and the ice took over a day to disappear. When putting hot foods in it, it will keep for several hours as well. Super useful for camping trips or long car trips, etc. or for taking food to friends and family in a more compact container. It’s bulkier than you would really want to use for just drinks, but that is not what it is intended for. That was just my initial test. Overall, great little insulated food container for a variety of needs. Definitely recommend.
