What a smart purchase. I bought these speakers after some research. I wanted a speaker to match up with my vintage 1973 Hi-Fi. The sound is accurate and clean. Bass is abundant and the highs are great..not shrilly. Thank you Polk for bringing my Vintage Hi-Fi back to it's greatness.

I own a pair of RT35i for more than 20 years and the sound that S20e offers is more clear and defined. I'm very pleased with my new speaker even if RT35i have real wood finish, but the highs are a bit mellow un comparison with S20e.

Absolutely amazed by these speakers. Compared them against similar sized KEF Q350 (purchased both sets of speakers and hooked them up with an A/B switch), listened to hundreds of tracks, did blind listening tests with everyone in my family and we all prefer the Polk Signature Elite ES20. I was initially excited about listening to the KEFs based on reviews I had read but the Polks have much better highs (without being too sharp/shrill) and have just as tight of a bass sound. I kept wondering βWhat am I missing? Why do the Polks sound better?β. In the end I kept the Polks. Cheaper AND better (to my ears)

I'm pleased with the purchase. These speakers sound more expensive than they cost. Deep and powerful bass. I use them with the Emotiva TA100 and I love this set. For my small living room, it is ideal in terms of sound quality and volume
These speakers are fantastic! Full sound from Hi-Fi or Cinema, in a 24x26' room, in an open floorplan timber home & 18' ceilings.I am Soooo pleased.
I had bought these along with the Polk XT20 to compare them and see which I liked better.I powered them using a Denon AVR-760h to watch movies and listen to music. I have a 2.0 configuration (for now).I felt these were better than the XT20's because they sound more natural and warm. They both have good sound in mids and lows but the ES20s sounded cleaner and more refined. I am not sure if it is the power port. The XT20s have good clarity, but I feel the sounds don't blend as well together.Overall I would say the ES20 definitely edges out the XT20s but they should since they cost more. The XT20s aren't terrible by any means and at the sale price of $225 I think they are a great deal, but if you do not mind the price jump then its a no brainer in my opinion to ...Β MoreI had bought these along with the Polk XT20 to compare them and see which I liked better.I powered them using a Denon AVR-760h to watch movies and listen to music. The wood finish on the elite series is nice, although the front cover is plastic.I will most likely add the ES30/ES35 center channel and the ES55/ES70 floorstanding speakers in the future.
I love my ES20s, driving them with the latest Onkyo receiver. Sound is powerful and crystal clear. They are a little bigger than book shelf speakers but fit in my setup perfectly. next step is buying the ES10s for my rears. Thank you, Polk Audio.
These ES20s are massive. I upgraded from Polk T15s and decided on the ES20 as opposed to the ES15 because of a great open box deal. They were listed as "Excellent" condition and arrived exactly as described. They sound absolutely fantastic, but they are so large. I'm using them for surrounds in a 7.1 system. They're great if you have the room, but these would be better suited as front or rear speakers due to their size. If you're looking for surrounds and debating ES15s or ES20s, go for the ES15s unless you get a deal and have the space. The included photo is a T15 on top of the ES20 for comparison.
I purchased a pair of ES10 speakers earlier in the year and while I like what those brought to my home theater & gaming experience, I'm glad to have upgraded to the ES20s - WOW, that's a lotta sound. Well balanced and the right amount of oomph.
I have been a user of Polk Audio speakers since the mid 80's. I am also a professional musician, and anything that colors or takes away from what instruments really sound like bugs the crap out of me. Polk gets it right, and the ES20's are no exception to the rule. For a mid-sized bookshelf speaker they sound and look great. The only thing lacking is the lowest octave, which you're not going to get from this size of a bookshelf speaker, but pairing them with a good subwoofer would make it perfect. Polk sounds so much better for the money than almost any other company's speakers.
