I really liked that one button on the remote takes you to the settings menu (a bar at the bottom the of screen) where it is easy to adjust the picture quality (7 settings plus brightness levels) to suit your own taste or programme/use type and the change is immediately visible on the screen so you can determine if it is an improvement or not. The warnings about using more power for brighter settings are interesting, but might be more useful if they gave an indication of power savings/increases (eg this setting uses x% more/less power than the standard setting) rather than just a message that this change will increase the power usage compared with the default configuration. Further, once I get to know which settings use more power continual reminders might become annoying. But these are very minor issues as this TV has excellent picture quality where fast motion (eg sport) is very smooth, and everything is very sharp with clear colours. There are 3 power setting (2 Economy modes) which make sense in the current climate and give an indication of how to save power. The sound quality is also excellent. During set up the TV calibrated the dynamics of my room to help determine the best sound required. The sound is so good, I doubt external speakers would make much improvement without considerable expense. If you choose this TV, I recommend that you try out the in built sound before considering investing in any additional external speakers. I use a high quality sound system (soundbar, subwoofer, rear speakers etc) with another TV and I can recommend this TV’s inbuilt speakers. All in all, this TV looks good, is easy to use, has an excellent picture and sound quality. A super TV in keeping with Sony’s high standards. I recommend it.

The images are sharp, and fluency of movements seems to happen natural. One point that I dislike of this unit is the reflective screen particularly in a sunny day but in a room with careful attention to light or in the dark the viewing experience is enjoyable and perfect for movies, but this is driving me to search and explore anti-reflective films that can diffuse or minimise this undesirable effect but overall it is a high end product with great looks, easy to sue, fast and with neat images and superb sound. With 4 HDMI ports using the device to project my personal computer on the screen is as simple as inserting the HDMI cable on the TV and sound and images from the computer are reproduced by TV straight away though it is important to enable gaming with GPU acceleration on the display settings of my computer running on Windows 11 to avoid flickering of the screen. Switching to a second external device by by pressing the input key in the remote control is straightforward and for gaming the instantaneous reproduction and real-time images and sound of the screen are superb. In brief, it is a product with great end looks and design, easy to set from its shipping box and straight forward to use. The viewing experience for watching movies, music videos, displaying external sources such a computer or PlayStation is overall great though the reflection from screen can be a bit of an issue in a sunny day.

The Sony X80L Bravia TV is very nice. I have wall mounted it so I can get the most out of it. It was very easy to setup once logged in to Google Account just followed instructions from there. When turning it on the first time I was taken aback by the depth of quality, the picture is extremely good, the colours are so vivided the contrast is brilliant no pixelation just a very clear bright picture. Having the sound coming out of the screen gives a great sound it surrounds you beautiful and is excellent quality. Having a border less frame is great as you get the full benefit of the 43"screen in its entirety. Almost ashamed that it took me two days to open the box after it arrived. This was simply because I couldn’t face setting up a new TV, with all the configuration that I imagined would be required.I am pleased to report that, after opening the box and unpacking, I had a fully functional Smart TV less than 10 minutes later. The set-up was quick and free any confusion caused by unclear instructions.First, though, the unpacking experience has been well thought through: it is virtually impossible to get this wrong. The set-up instructions are first thing facing you when you open the box. It takes two people to extract the screen from the box – I wouldn’t recommend trying this on your own. Simple unambiguous graphics show how to assemble and mount the supports, and which is left and which is right. The input ports are clearly labelled with widely used recognisable icons. For example, no problem in attaching HDMI devices and wondering where to plug them in.It is possible to wall-mount this TV using a suitable bracket, but I didn’t do that so can’t comment. It looks pretty simple though.Next, setting up the TV is much simpler than I thought it would be. I won’t name the brand of TV I have for my main screen, as it is not a Sony product, but I will say that setting up the Sony Smart TV (Google TV) was quite a bit simpler and faster than setting up my existing TV. You will need a Google account, of course, but. if you don’t already have one, that takes but minutes to create.I used my existing Google account, and choose the QR code method for configuration. I’ll give that process top marks, and I honestly can’t imagine anyone getting this wrong or being confused. The software guides you through the options available and getting the device logged in to your WiFi. For me, the process was perfect, and worked first time. If you don’t want to, or can’t, scan the QR code, then there is an alternative process to follow. I didn’t check that so, again, I can’t comment. The above meant that I was able to start logging in to streaming services just a few minutes after powering up. All the usual suspects were present: Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, iPlayer, and so on. All you have to do is activate those you subscribe to. The TV will typically display a code to be entered on the streaming service website in order to be recognised. Again, this worked first time for me.Now, on to the most important parts: the display and sound performance.I feel a bit embarrassed in awarding high marks here to picture quality, as I received this product free of charge for evaluation and review. I can assure you that this has not influenced my assessment, and if I were unhappy I would say so. I know a substandard display when I see it, and this TV has no problems in that regard. Sony has done well here. The picture is clear, high-resolution and, as far as I could tell, fault free from edge to edge. If there were any dead pixels then I couldn't see any. The quality the most important component, namely the display itself, is clearly top notch. The colour rendering is what I’d expect from a high-quality product.I was a bit less impressed with sound reproduction, but this is because I found it hard not to compare it to my main TV, which has external speakers, including a subwoofer. Measuring this Sony TV against the sound quality of my existing TV, but using only its built-in speakers, resulted in a similar audio experience. In other words, I think I’d recommend enhancing the audio output in some way by using external speakers, and that is probably true for any out-of-the-box TV. For what you get from the built-in speakers though, the sound reproduction is at least satisfactory – not substandard – just a bit limited in what is possible. In summary, this device seems, in my opinion, really good value for money. Deboxing is well documented, the set-up process is flawless and the picture quality better than I expected.

Also, Gaming menu for PS5 is very handy.I love Sony for it's color reproduction, brightness, fast processing and clarity. Sony is the best here.Everything is great, however, the 43" screen size is only suitable for smaller rooms, bedrooms or gaming on Play Station consoles. You won't be able to have a true cinematic experience on a small screens like 43", so 65" and above are highly recommended.I would suggest to save some money and go for a new Sony X90L 65" - 98" or top of the range Sony Mini LED X95L 75"- 85" for the best cinema experience! When you watching Ultra HD Bluray content it's screaming for X80L 65" or over.If you have a living room, optimum size is 65", for a larger rooms I would highly recommend 75" and 85" screens. I have had my Sony Bravia X80L for a few weeks this is my second review , I am very impressed by it. The sound coming of the screen makes it so life like its brillant. At 43" its a good size and does not overpower the room. The depth of the picture quality is really impressive it can really empathize those features that you could not see before, the picture is very sharp and clear no pixelizeation , having a LED backscreen dose make a difference in certain lights. Being a Google TV is great it was so easy to set up . We run on a Fire stick which is compatable and gives us the best of both now. Streaming is an excellent choice being 4K Smart is great. It has enough ports HMDI and USB on it making the best of it's features.
