I'm struggling how anyone would rate this Bravia X75K 65" 4 or 5 star. This is my 4th Bravia that I have purchased over the last 15 years, and this one is just ok (the least favourite of them all). The colour palette is not very accurate and there is always a small amount of blur. On dark backgrounds there is a moderate amount of white light leakage that appears along all the sides. Upscaling from 1080p to 4K is ok, but when in an actual 4K feed, it looks about the same as the 1K feed. The speakers are just passable. The GoogleTV OS that comes with the unit requires that you provide an address that matches a valid postal code and that you need to turn on location services. In the end, disabled Smart TV option.PROS:- Priced very well for 75". It was on sale and ... MoreI'm struggling how anyone would rate this Bravia X75K 65" 4 or 5 star. I will likely hand this down to my daughter and look for a new large screen.

As a smart TV running Android OS, you can install almost any app from the Google Play store, so it supports all the usual streaming apps and it even supports Apple AirPlay for the Apple users out there.I would definitely recommend this TV for anyone who wants a smart TV with high quality picture, or if you just want a “dumb” tv with excellent quality picture.

I bought this TV at the end of 2022 when I knew I could no longer stand the eye strain of staring at a 42" TV. I had been shopping around for a few months, weighing up the different options in terms of size, picture quality, energy rating and, of course, price point.Admittedly, this hadn't been my first pick but a Boxing Sale dropped the price just enough for me to consider taking the risk and I have to say it was a risk I'm glad I took. This is technically my first real smart TV; it's predecessor had an Operating System as well but it was rather minimal. It was therefore a bit of a surprise that the Bravia asked me to setup the TV and I prepared for the worst. I needn't have bothered, however, as it was a breeze. I would otherwise watch movies, TV shows and listen to music on my PC. Now I pretty much exclusively watch movies/shows on my TV and the range of apps available on the Bravia makes it possible to watch pretty much everything. The inbuilt Chromecast even let's me stream my music to the TV so I've been finding myself use it more and more for that purpose lately as well.In terms of picture quality, the Bravia has been amazing. The field of colours available and the depth of its blacks have been noticeable to even me and I'm the opposite of a visuo-phile (or whatever the term is for an enthusiast of visual fidelity).Overall, the Bravia has been a TV that I took a chance on and it's a chance that has absolutely worked out in my favour.

Had to wait until the middle of the year for the release of this 43" from Sony and there's a lot to like about it - especially when it was on sale and I got it for only $799.Likes:Looks great and has the usual Sony high build quality.Very easy to set up.Picture quality is excellent (from outside 6 feet) for a TV at this price point.Main menu easy to navigate and incorporates streaming apps well.Fantastic sound.Remote has a great feel and shape.Dislikes:TV feet only mount at one point, making a wide stand a requirement. I thought multiple mounting points were available. The layout on the remote is frustrating - the numeric keypad is hard to use on the tapered end of the remote. The streaming app shortcut buttons are not required and only take up space, leaving little room for the mute, channel switch and CC buttons which have all been made tiny.Activating closed captions now requires three button presses instead of the previous one press and the captions also automatically switch off every time the channel is changed - very frustrating.Program info is often slow to load or is still showing details of last program watched on that channel. The on screen TV guide is baffling and a real letdown - it's unattractive, clunky, allows you to select shows that have already finished and cannot change pages smoothly when scrolling. Unlike previous models there is no ability to view TV while looking at the guide. The on screen information for the current program is simply too small, hard to read and doesn't include the time. This is my 5th Sony TV and I continue to buy them as they're the best out there for looks and performance. For the price I got it at it was an easy purchase to make. While far from perfect the quality of picture, ease of use, fab remote, sound and mostly great menus make for a excellent TV.
Had this for almost two weeks and for a budget price Sony TV I am impressed. I have an LG OLED so I can compare image/colour/black levels very easily. The X75k 50 inch I purchased is a VA panel I believe and it was super easy to setup out of the box. The panel has a fairly think Bezel although I have seen thinner, Bezel is a matt kind of plastic. The feet I had to put on are again ok, nothing fancy, not like the LG OLED that's for sure but does the job. The Google TV interface works well and something I am very familiar with as we have a couple of Chromecasts, speed is good scrolling through options although I did notice that after turning on TV it took about 5 seconds to load all images for Apps but once loaded it's all good (I have 400Mb/s Wifi). The TV guide is a problem as once you select it you can see details of the first page of channels but if you scroll down to see the next page it can take 30 seconds to load the next page and so on. As it is the Guide is next to useless and in this I am very dissapointed, I hope Sony provides a fix for this, there is no excuse. Streaming works as expected and I have streamed 4k content without issue or delay and quality is as I expect for 4k. Streaming 1080 content, it is what it is and the TV does a good job overall. I am not even going to talk about Australian TV broadcasting, it is pretty shocking quality on any TV. Now to the picture... The blacks are pretty black for a LED TV, not OLED blacks but not too far off even in a dark room, in a brighter room they are even better. I had to fiddle with the options to get the picture I like but got there in the end after doing research although out of the box pic and colour was very decent, this is all very Subjective though. Overall picture quality compared to my OLED is pretty good but it is no OLED. Colours are more realistiv and not overdone like some TV's such as Samsung, I love the skin tone as like I said, more realistic. Would I recommend as primary TV? for me no, my OLED fills that role, the X75k is in my study but if the OLED died I would replace it with this TV and be happy until I could replace it with a new bigger OLED. I paid a very good price for this, a long way short of retail so if you get this on sale it is a no brainer, get it if on a budget, you want a solid name brand and the prospect of good service when needed. I would rather pay a few hundred more for a Sony than get a Hisense any day.
I chose this on the advice of a TV tech, after having a budget brand TV die on me pretty much immediately after the warranty was up. In terms of the device itself I'm very satisfied; the picture is excellent, it's responsive for gaming, and even the built in sound is pretty good. Only time will tell if it comes through on the longevity front.HOWEVER... Google TV has got to be the worst smart TV OS I've ever encountered. Horribly limited with almost zero customisation, it exists purely to show you whatever advertising your connected accounts (Netflix, Disney Plus etc) want you to see. It's a huge step backward from its predecessor, Android TV; honestly I would rather have a the Android repacks you get on cheap TVs, even if it means losing access to the Play ... Or you could do what I did—put the TV into "dumb" mode and hook up a Raspberry Pi to handle streaming without a non-stop barrage of nonsense—but it seems like such a waste to pay Smart TV prices when you don't even use the "smart" part.In summary—quality seems worth the price, but avoid Google TV if you possibly can.
Initial impressions:• No information about wall mounting in the enclosed paper instructions. No information in the Reference Guide about whether screw holes on rear of TV are suitable for wall mounting or only adequate for the supplied anti-topple strap.• No VESA dimension specifications for these holes. (This was a replacement for a dead 49” TV which had VESA 200x200mm holes. That could not have been possible because I had done a factory reset immediately beforehand.• The factory default settings switch the TV off after 4 hours. (Imagine the TV dying just 5 minutes from the end of two rugby matches! How many service calls would this create?)The above software problems show this is not a Smart TV. (Or perhaps Sony staff are not smart!)Finally, after a lot of unnecessary timewasting on the above:• Picture quality was excellent.
First off I would say this TV is amazing at a budget price point of sub $600. Secondly this TV has a very nice picture, dark black and when in the Vivid color scheme it is very true and lifelike replication of colors. Sound is good especially coming from its own speakers. I am sure with an ATMOS soundbar it would be great but I push audio through my Denon home theater setup. I would recommend this as an overall great buy. The screen saver is also a unique feature. Now for the not so good because you cant have good without the bad. Mounting this TV was a lottle different than the Samsungs I own and it does mount a little higher than most. I will be interested to watch some NFL to see the real deal. Would I recommend this set? I would say yes, its totally worth buying at this price point.
Sony doesn't cater to gamers, sports fans, or movie lovers. Sony just makes good TV's. Though, I've noticed a few glitches, my Vudu app closed while watching a movie and the home screen loaded. Not sure if that's a common problem or the app malfunctioned.Overall, I like this 55 inch TV and think most people will. It's a more simple 4K led TV. Changing the picture and sound settings is pretty straight forward as is connecting a sound bar.
Just bought this Sony TV tonight. I agonized over making the purchase for the past few days because I've had some bad misfortune with TVs over the past few years. I'll never buy a Samsung again. When the motherboard goes out after 90 days from purchase, as it did with my current Samsung TV, you know the future for it likely isn't looking good....Anyway, I bought this Sony TV simply because it's a Sony. I expected it to work and to work well because that's what you expect from a Sony. When I unpacked it tonight I was pleasantly surprised to see how intuitive the interface is. It's awesome. I hated the interface on my Samsung TV from day one but unless you're able to test drive it in the store before purchase you're kind of stuck with whatever interface you find on ... So high marks to Sony there. If you're a Google fan and save all your passwords you'll be pleasantly surprised to see all your apps auto-login on this Sony TV. It also very quickly picked up my Wi-Fi and immediately allowed me to bluetooth the TV sound to my sound bar. These may seem like small things but they're basic things my Samsung failed at over and over. When I was growing up, Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic ruled the day. Other newer brands have come along since then .... but now I see clearly that Sony has been, and continues to be, the best all along. Take it from someone who would've rather got another root canal than try to decide which TV to buy next ...
