Thank you Sonos for the free pair of headphones in exchange for an honest review.Ok, so lets get the worst part out of the way...I opened the sealed packaging to find some damage to the left ear cushion which was extremely disappointing and questions the quality and quality control. See attached picture which shows various creases/folds/imperfections in the material. Not something you would expect to find on headphones from Sonos or at this price point.Aside from that, I did experience an issue getting the headphones to pair after downloading the iphone app and adding the headphones. Before I got the app, they paired very easy and worked flawlessly, but as soon as I got the app, it seemed to get stuck in a loop of the phone showing connected, but the app saying ... MoreThank you Sonos for the free pair of headphones in exchange for an honest review.Ok, so lets get the worst part out of the way...I opened the sealed packaging to find some damage to the left ear cushion which was extremely disappointing and questions the quality and quality control. Before I got the app, they paired very easy and worked flawlessly, but as soon as I got the app, it seemed to get stuck in a loop of the phone showing connected, but the app saying not connected. Or showing as connected to 2 different 'Sonos Ace' at the same time. After a few minutes it finally seemed to settle and I got the audio playing through the device along with control through the app, great lets go!So, sound quality is great, no complaints there at all. I have recently been using in-ear earphones but these are next level. Although not new technology, the different noise control options never fail to impress me. When wearing the headphones and cycling through the options, the way the noise cancellation just turns background TV noise to complete silence is amazing, but likewise the 'Aware' mode that then suddenly makes the background noise sound like i'm not wearing any headphones is equally impressive. Head tracking is also a great feature that i've never used before.I also like the wear detection mode, for someone with kids running round and not leaving me in peace, I can take off the headphones and my content will automatically pause and then resume again when I put them back on...genius!Unfortunately I don't have a Sonos speaker system with the TV to test out the home cinema experience but sounds impressive. The headphones themselves are nice and sleek. I like that they have a bit of weight to them too (nothing too heavy) which suggests they are good quality and well made and they feel really comfortable when on.The packaging is also class with lots of protection whilst also being stylish and well made.Bottom line, I would recommend these for the sound quality and features, but the physical/visual quality of the pair I received has left a really sour tase in my mouth unfortunately.

For disclosure, I have received these headphones for free from BzzAgent in exchange for my honest review. They have a better design in my opinion, looking more minimalistic and sleeker. These headphones are much more comfortable for longer periods of use because of the design and the foam in the earcups and headband. The magnetic earcups are so easy to replace. They have better sound quality than wireless over-ear headphones that I have used before. The buttons are easy to get used to and aren't hard to find or use on the earcup compared to some other headphones. For example, it is easy to switch between the ANC, transparency, and normal modes, and to control volume and media playback. For example, it is easy to switch between the ANC, transparency, and normal modes, and to control volume and media playback. The transparency is very clear, and the ANC is very good, with it easily removing the sound of my AC and laptop fans. These headphones are very nice for listening to music, watching videos, or playing games. They worked seamlessly with all of my devices, such as wirelessly with an apple phone, android phone and windows laptop, and plugged in to my Xbox controller. these are made for Apple devices but worked well with android devices too, Even while listening at a high volume, the person next to me could not hear my music through the headphones, which is good. The feature where I could connect the headphones to two devices at once was seamless and easy to use, however it does not suit my needs as if I get a call or notification on my phone while playing a game on my laptop, the audio will stop being taken from my laptop and start being taken from my phone, which is inconvenient. The only real problem is that these headphones cost $450, which is on the expensive side. Another minor problem is with the Sonos app. Unfortunately, the app takes a long time to recognize that my headphones are connected to my phone, and they will not show as connected in the app for a while. Also, the music equalizer in the app is very minimal, with it only having treble and bass sliders for volume, as well as balance between the volume of the left and right earcup, but not a full eq. Overall a great product designed for long wear and works with multiple devices seamlessly. Love the sound quality and holds the charge for more than 20 hours. My headset is white so I was a bit paranoid that it will get dirty, but it does not attract dirt and doesn't get stained easily.

The recycled felt feels almost paper-like to the touch and the zipper has already jammed meaning i already cannot fully close the case. I will likely need to replace the case soon, and when I do, I will likely opt for a third party solution. The case does have some nice features though. For one it's lightweight. Secondly it included a little pouch to carry the charging cables (USB c and jack), and that pouch attaches to the inside of the case with a magnetic making it easy to have you're cables on you at all time.Speaking of charging battery life is impressive and charging time is quick, making them convenient for longer walks and working sessions. These headphones also auto detect when they have been removed and will automatically pause your music. Again, useful when you need to pop off your headphones quickly but don't have the time or free hands to fiddle with your phone to pause your song or podcast

The headphones also fold flat to allow for more compact storage. The headband and ear coverings are both padded which makes for a really comfortable wear and also really helps with both the noise cancelling and makes for a contained listening experience so as not to disturb others around you.The quality of the sound is exceptional. You have an excellent balance of bass and trebble without things becoming distored, overwhelming or tinny. The headphones also give a good concert hall experience of feeling the sound surrounding you and coming from different locations rather than just directed into your ears from one location.Spoken word was also clear and crisp and enjoyable to listen to, making these an excellent choice for audiobooks and podcasts as well as a range of music. The app proved a little tempremental to get the headphones to be recognised and updated at first but once this was resolved it was great to have the app on hand to gain more insight into the features of the product and also control from my phone if I didn't want to use the controls on the headphones themselves. The controls however are simple and easy to use and thought has been given on how to make these easy to location and identify through touch to make for easy control. The multi function control also has clear distinctions for differernt options so you won't end up skipping a track instead of turning up the volume etc.The charge lasted for a good length of time and I was happy to see a USB C charging cable in there to help me recharge the headphones easily. My favourite feature was the auto play and pause. So whilst listening to music if I had to take the headphones off to speak to someone the music would auto pause and once I put the headphones back on my listening experience would automatically restart.I also liked that I could easily switch between noise cancelling and aware mode at the press of a button or on the app to allow me to adapt to when I needed to be isolated from the noise around me or wanted to still be able to interact with what was happening around me.The price point is high and I was sceptical about whether I would see the difference between these and my mid price headphones. The sound quality is definetly there and the noise cancelling and comfort have a level of luxury and quality to them which I would expect from the brand and price bracket.I would highly recomend these as a purchase to people who enjoy a high quality and comfortable listening experience.
Thanks, Sonos, for the free Ace headphones! Ace in name, an absolute ace in use!I have been using noise cancelling headphones since 2018 and find the technology to work really well, and in that respect these headphones continue my great experience with noise cancellation. These headphones definitely seem to do it better than I have experienced with previous headphones, from headphones of a similar pedigree, to more business focused products. When trying to listen to something and keep out the noise around you and focus on what you are hearing these definitely deliver. With the noise cancellation I find you do not need to listen to things so loud, which is probably a good thing as these - like most other headphones - start to leak sound at a certain volume. When trying to listen to something and keep out the noise around you and focus on what you are hearing these definitely deliver. With the noise cancellation I find you do not need to listen to things so loud, which is probably a good thing as these - like most other headphones - start to leak sound at a certain volume. I found with my phone music about 40-50% volume was audible to my partner next to me. Keeping the noise out though usually means you are having to keep noise out for prolonged periods of time due to calls or just focus periods. With previous headphones this can make my ears sore but I have found using the Sonos Ace headphones to be a much more comfortable affair. The soft pads are foamy so where they meet your head they feel good, but also the space allowed for your ears means the pads are not pressing on the ears.I have been using this product to listen to music and videos on my phone, as well as to a games console via a USB-C Bluetooth dongle. Each device has provided the same experience.Whilst I was fortunate to get these headphones for free, if I were in the market for some noise cancelling headphones and was considering a pair at a premium price point I would definitely consider these, and would recommend them to anyone that was also int he market for premium noise cancelling headphones. The features, specifically the noise cancellation, audio clarity, and comfort in use, definitely make these a must have.A few things that made these stand out over and above what I've already mentioned:The controls are easy to use and I love that there are physical 'buttons' rather than gestures or motions which some previous products had. The magnetic cups and the magnetic lead case as great and handy for keeping things where they need to be. The app is easy to navigate and doesn't require much time at all to get set up and started. Also a positive nod to the vegan leather, always great to know you're supporting a sustainable product!
Thank you to Sonos who kindly sent me their newly-released Sonos Ace headphones for free, so that I could review it.The much-anticipated Sonos Ace is an aesthetically pleasing pair of headphones. The soft white version looks and feels premium and superior in its quality. The effortless weight of the headphones, in comparison to other high-end competitors such as Bose, is notable. Although it is an over-ear product, it does not feel as bulky as the Bose. Compared to both Bose and Airpods Max, the Sonos Ace also provides substantially higher levels of comfort during longer-wear use.The headphones are straightforward and easy to set up and can be connected via Bluetooth, or through the Sonos app.The device charges swiftly (and specifically includes a quick-charge feature) with a very impressive battery life.Controls on the device are sleek and discreet.Audio quality is crystal-clear; this applies not only to listening to music, but also with calls. There is also a control on the device which can be used to manoeuvre volume, calls and playback which makes the user experience super convenient. These features can also be controlled via the Sonos App, should you wish. The "Active Noise Cancellation" mode noise cancelling capabilities are excellent and banishes all background interference, in parallel with other premium players within this space.Conversely, the "Aware Mode" permits ambient sound so that you are able to hear the general environment, including conversations, around you without having to remove the headphones. If you do remove the headphones, the device automatically pauses what you are listening to, which adds to the headphones' cool factor. The surround-sound / spatial audio functionality of this device is outstanding and works effortlessly with the dynamic head tracking feature. The device comes in a sturdy but disappointingly uninspiring case with zipper. My only suggestion here would be that Sonos consider making the headset case more aesthetically distinctive as the price point of the product demands a case that looks and feels more luxurious. However, I am pleased with the user experience and would, therefore, invest into this product especially given the robust Sonos reputation. The product looks and feels superior, is lightweight, and it operates with minimum fuss, especially for someone like me who travels often and prefers stylish products that are also convenient and intuitive when rushing on-the-go.I have recommended this product to friends and family as I have thoroughly enjoyed the sound quality and feature-set of the Sonos Ace headphones. My husband is an elite professional athlete and I have recommended these headphones to him for when he is on tour, and for his training and practice sessions, based on its design, functionality, comfort and intuitive user experience. The only design drawback I would highlight is that, whilst the headphones fold flat, they, unfortunately do not fold up, which can otherwise be handy for frequent travellers like myself, however this does not hinder my positive experience with the product in any way.
Thank you to Sonos for the free product in exchange for writing this review. My first impression right out of the box is that these headphones hit the sweet spot when it comes to feeling premium - not so heavy that they can only be worn for short stretches of time before they start to feel uncomfortable because your head/ears need a break, but also not so lightweight that it feels like they skimped out on design details like using all-plastic construction instead of incorporating stainless steel elements for added durability. This high-end feel extends to the cushioning on the headband and ear cups, which are marshmallow soft. The headband is stretchy enough to fit when worn over a baseball cap without feeling like it's being strained; that flexibility combined with ... MoreThank you to Sonos for the free product in exchange for writing this review. The headband is stretchy enough to fit when worn over a baseball cap without feeling like it's being strained; that flexibility combined with the low profile of the ear cups makes these headphones feel like they were meant to be worn on the go rather than meant strictly for indoor/studio use.Sadly, whereas the actual headphones feel intentionally lightweight, the travel case that's included feels flimsy and incredibly cheap - like a DIY arts & craft felt project. It's obvious that Sonos put in the bare minimum with this case - I'd expect something of this quality out of a pair of disposable earphones - not something that's supposed to be aligned with the Sonos brand. In terms of the headphones themselves being travel-friendly, I'd say that's a bit of a stretch since the most you can do is retract the telescoping arms - that's the only way to get them to fit in the travel case anyway. The average use time for me was three full days before I needed to recharge these headphones, so I consider the 30 hour battery life claim by Sonos to be conservative and accurate. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I have owned my share of mid-range over-ear studio headphones. Can I hear a remarkable difference when it comes to standard audio quality in comparison? Honestly, I'd have to say no. The audio I hear through these headphones, which is mostly streaming music and movies, sounds well-rounded: OK bass depth, with very clear and crisp highs when default settings are used. But where the Ace headphones really shine is in their noise-cancelling and ambient sound modes. When "Active Noise Cancellation" is activated, all of the random background noise you subconsciously tune out like the rumble of cars driving by, conversations and TVs on in the other room, is virtually silenced. "Aware Mode" lets in ambient sound and I felt like I could carry on a normal conversation without straining to hear what's being said. (Of course these two functions can be turned off entirely, which means it didn't feel like I was stuck with having to use either option.) These noise-control features, plus playback and Bluetooth, are accessible with the tap/push of a button, which makes the audio easy to adjust without having to download/open an app to get basic functionality out of them.I don't own any other Sonos products, so I can't speak to the integration or functionality of the home theater "TV Audio Swap" features. But I personally consider that a positive - these headphones feel like a standalone product in and of themselves, and I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything because I don't own complimentary Sonos audio products. Overall these feel like an upgrade (especially in terms of noise-cancelling ability) rather than an evolutionary jump when it comes to stylish high-end Bluetooth over-ear headphones, and recommend them highly if you keep these reasonable expectations in mind.
First off, the overall aesthetics from packaging to the actual headphone are very impressive. Everything appears to be very well thought of. At first, I thought the lack of buttons maybe challenging but the minimalist approach in both hardware and software has easily grown on me. Both the volume and the mode toggle are on the right earphone and the power and Bluetooth button are on the left. The volume control has a slide functionality versus the conventional button in which took some getting used to but I don't hate it.The noise control mode comes with ANC, Aware mode (Transparency) and off feature. The ANC mode is outstanding and here's why. Using the SONOS Ace next to running washer and dryer had almost eradicated the noise and the app facilitated my listening experience. Whilst using the equalizer through the app, I have noticed that at default setting, the bass is so balanced listening to EDM, Rock and Podcast that the Apple AirPod Max or the Marshall Monitor 2 could not compare. Be that as it may, the SONOS App only offer one equalizer preset that prevents user from personalizing their sound preference for different usage but the superior bass and treble makes up for it.I prefer to personalize my audio devices and the SONOS Ace comes with head tracking technology for Spatial audio enabled devices which is perfect for my PC. It's also capable of alternating between two devices seamlessly. For example, if you have the SONOS Ace both synced to your mobile device and your PC, when you decide to play a video in your PC then switch to your mobile device, the audio transition then happens instantaneously. I never knew eliminating the hassle of using 2 headphones is nothing but convenient.Overall, if you're tired of dealing with heavy and bulky headphones that causes ear fatigue/scalp pain and don't want to stress abt learning convoluted hardware control scheme or confusing mobile application settings, then the lightweight, soft memory foam ear cushion, minimalist approach of SONOS Ace might be right for you.
Sonos kindly gave me the Ace headphones for free so that I could review them. The Sonos Ace headphones are a fantastic piece of audio equipment and I can't see many being disappointed. They held up well against my trusted Bose headphones, and there were even some aspects I liked better. It was quick and easy to set up the Ace headphones with the Sonos app, and I really liked that you are able to control the noise cancellation options from within the app, as well as on the headphones themselves (with a handy button on the right ear cup). Aware mode lets you hear clearly what's going on without compromising whatever you are listening to, and switching between the modes is very unobtrusive and does not disrupt listening. Aware mode lets you hear clearly what's going on without compromising whatever you are listening to, and switching between the modes is very unobtrusive and does not disrupt listening. Noise cancellation is pretty good and while you can still hear loud noises, it's enough to immerse you in the sound. With some Bluetooth headphones you often get glitches in the sound, particularly if you have them connected to multiple devices, however even with the Ace connected to both my tablet and my phone, I did not experience these glitches which I very much liked. The sound itself is crisp and clear, but still with a good bass. There's a helpful option to boost the bass if you're listening at lower volumes that you can set within the app. I appreciate that the sound you like from headphones is very much subjective, however I found even the default EQ suited my tastes very well (and if it doesn't for you, there's always the option to tweak this in the app).Sonos also provides a head tracking feature which can be used along with Spatial Audio, which again can be configured in the app. I did try this out and it worked well, but I preferred to have it switched off as I found it rather distracting (although I know there will be some that love it as a feature). The headphones themselves are very well built and fairly sturdy, but this does make them on the heavier side. Compared to my Bose headphones, they pack an extra 57g and this does become significant after a while. After wearing them for a couple of hours to watch a movie, you can definitely feel that they are on your head and I was somewhat relieved to take them off.The design is classy and sleek - I was given the white headphones to review, however the black also looks very nice. They come in a stylish carry case, although I feel like the pale felt-style fabric of this may become grubby fairly quickly. One thing I'd have liked to see is a constant light on the outside of the headphones to tell you that they are powered on, as it's not always obvious if you cannot remember whether or not you've turned them off.As I don't have any other Sonos products, I wasn't able to try out the multi-room features, however, even just as a stand-alone set of headphones these were great so I wouldn't necessarily let not having other devices put you off, if the price is right for you.Overall I found these to be a fantastic set of headphones with very few negatives.
Sonos has been known for making some really incredible home audio speakers, their take on the Bluetooth speaker world is also quite remarkable with their Sonos move and their roam so their take on headphones is a huge welcome to me. At first impression their design on the headphones is remarkable, they’re incredibly light weight and comfortable for hours of usage. The plushy leather band sits on the head well and the ear cups are great for not generating ear fatigue or sweat. The stainless steel rod feels great for adjustment doesn’t feel cheap and it’s a great choice to allow users with multiple head shapes and sizes. The logo on the side is subtle enough to not notice from a far but proud enough to know who and what it is. The logo on the side is subtle enough to not notice from a far but proud enough to know who and what it is. The Included carrying case is great for travel it’s quite thin making it fit in my bag with my PlayStation portal and some extra clothes perfect. Sonos also offers a tiny little case for extra cables for either charging or lined in audio that fits inside the carrying case of the headphones magnetically. The headphones themselves are quite simple with controls which is great for getting what you need access to, your left ear cup provides a power button, usb c connector for charging/lined in audio and a light indicator to show Bluetooth connection, your right ear cup provides your noise cancellation and transparency mode button, above that button you have what may be one of my favorite takes on volume controls for a headphones, you have a volume slider, adjusting the volume up or down gives a click through the headphone to indict the action but after releasing the mechanism it returns back to a center position, it’s a simple switch but makes the experience feel responsive and elegant. The design of these headphones is what I would expect from Sonos, it’s elegant and efficient I would say for its price you barely recognize that it using a plastic housing because it’s plastic doesn’t feel cheap, no creaks or squeaks when picking up or adjusting the headset. Coming from the brand I do expect great audio quality especially being an owner of their Sonos beam gen 2 and Sonos move, their noise cancellation are strong and what’s great about that is they aren’t strong with pressure. The noise cancellation is one of the best I’ve used and there is a great feedback to let you know you’ve entered and exited noise cancellation. Transparency mode is clear and at times feels as if you aren’t wearing headphones it’s very clear with voices. My own voice however when in transparency mode doesn’t feel robot. I can definitely tell my own voice is coming through a microphone. Actual sound quality of the headphones is quite great, voices like Lauryn hill, phill Collin’s, bob Marley sound incredible they support mid sections incredibly well I honestly think that’s where they shine. The highs are pretty well done, bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, rage against the machine and Metallica have some great guitar solos where I felt I could really let the headphones show their capability and I wasn’t dissatisfied. Their lows are quite good filling the space with some deep bass and heavy drums. Overall the Sonos headphones are a wonderful pair of headphones I would highly consider for my daily wear. My only gripe with these headphones is its price. I think it’s an excellent headset, had they been $50 or $100 less I would pick them up and never let them go
