From reading reviews from others with thin hair, I am confident they are using this product incorrectly. I have very fine and thin hair and love this product. A little goes a very long way. Only a tiny amount is needed and then must be warmed between the hands to increase fluidity prior to application, as with most hair oils. Then it should be applied to the ends only, or very sparingly through the mid section of hair. Not on the roots! When used this way I did not find the oil was too thick and it didn’t weigh my hair down. It worked just as well as other high end hair oils I’ve used and it smells amazing. The ingredient list is also quite impressive.

So I just finished using a trial sample I received from Sephora. Excited to use it of course, love Sol’s products for the most part. Love the original smell. This has the original smell. Smells wonderful. I put it in my clean washed, wet hair. Proceeded to blow dry it. No word of a lie, my hair looks greasier now than it did before I got into the shower, I was just at the gym 😞. If I didn’t have to go to work I would get back in and wash this out. Lesson learned. Definitely NOT for fine hair. I barely used 1/2tsp for comparison. And my hair is shoulder length. I can use a good 4 pumps of a Moroccan brand and not notice any greasiness. Disappointment but at least I didn’t have a whole bottle.

Excellent!

Initially loved the sample, but…
26 July 2022

I received a free sample on my last order and used it yesterday. I absolutely love the way ut made my hair feel! Soft, smooth and frizz free. It was a dramatic change for me so I woke up this morning and immediately logged on to buy it. But first, straight to the ingredient list. Having recently turned 50, my hair isn’t as healthy and strong as it once was. Having begun menopause I have to be more careful of what I put in my hair because my hair has become super sensitive to things like silicones. The first ingredient listed is dimethicone (silicone), and initially products like these have an amazing affect on my hair, but over time it builds up and causes dryness and breakage, a lot of it. I’m rebounding now from a similar product that snapped off a lot of my hair ... MoreI received a free sample on my last order and used it yesterday. I absolutely love the way ut made my hair feel! I’m rebounding now from a similar product that snapped off a lot of my hair and left it completely dried out. So although I love how soft and healthy my hair looks, I know in the long run it’ll do more damage than good. I would’ve purchased had this not been high on the list of ingredients, especially as the first one. As other reviewers have mentioned, this product would be great if it wasn’t loaded with silicone. I was torn on leaving stars because it made my hair feel so good and it looked healthy but I know if I continued use of this, it would ultimately wreck my hair.

Interesting product

This oil is more like a serum in my opinion, it’s so thick! I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but there was definitely a learning curve as it was not at all what I was expecting upon first use. I have very thick, slightly coarse, somewhat wavy somewhat straight hair. I got a sample of this oil from Sephora on my last purchase and tried it a few days ago after washing my hair and I definitely used a little too much. After blow drying my hair it felt kind of heavy and almost overly hydrated but not greasy. It was super weird. It definitely didn’t look or feel great after the blowout so I decided to add waves with my straitening iron. And, I have to say that my hair has never looked better with curls/waves. It looked so healthy and hydrated! And it held for daaays. I ended up adding a little bit more of the oil to my ends on the second and third day after the blowout and was super impressed by the way it revives curls! I honestly prefer this oil for use on dry hair as a curl reviver. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this for someone with thin hair or someone who struggles with oily hair/scalp however. I’m going to keep using it on second third and fourth day curls and if it works as well as it did the first few times, I’ll definitely be making a purchase. I’d recommend trying it if you have thick, coarse, and/or curly hair that lacks hydration and/or curl definition.

Nice smell that's it

Brought this just looking for a new hair product or additional. I have 3c hair. Don't put this on dry hair (as recommended on the bottle) to restyle or run your fingers through you will frizz out. I'd only recommend using this as an additional product to scrunch in for the fragrance on damp hair before drying with heat or natural. You would need to entire bottle to achieve what the pictures show on curly hair. It may work differently on straight hair but I'd say just use on the ends. But in future I will just by the hair and body spray from this range as I feel it does nothing to enhance the curl for the price. There's better hair products out to tame frizz and cheaper with more in.

Sol vs Olaplex
1 June 2022

So I’ve been using the Olaplex leave in moisturizer and the heat protector oil since they’ve come out. I am OBSESSED with Sol de Jeneiro’s scent to the point where I’m actually demanding some skin care products now 😂 so when they came out with the oil and leave in I was like OKAY LETS GOOOOO. I have the entire collection of this scent tbh. Compared to Olaplex, you’ll get probably four times the product that you’re used to, even if the size is the same, just consider how much less product you’ll need at any given time. The Olaplex oil is thin so I went through it fairly quick. In contrast, this oil is very thick but it spreads through the hair easy and makes a noticeable difference. With the Olaplex I did have to reapply occasionally and I definitely used more product. Also Olaplex doesn’t really have a smell and this smell lasts ALL DAY. This is BY FAR my favorite hair collection and I definitely recommend it.P.S. if you haven’t tried the conditioning treatment.. what are you doinggggg

This isn’t a hair oil!

I absolutely love this brand and the 62 scent. The dry shampoo is one of my all time fave products (can’t wait until that’s back in stock) so wanted an alternative that makes my hair smell as good as the dey shampoo. I’m a regular hair oil user- having super dry very long hair. So was delighted to spot this product. But was very disappointed with it unfortunately. Firstly - it’s not an oil - it’s most definitely a serum. Which I already have covered with another brand I use. So was super disappointed to have lugged this all the way to my winter holiday (it’s a glass bottle so not very holiday friendly for a holiday styled brand - but better for the environment for sure) and not have the product be what it said ot was. Don’t find it very nourishing or frizz controlling either.

Ultra moisturizing and effective

Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil is a necessity especially in this chilly, dry weather. Winter is really hard on skin and hair but I find simple changes and add ons like this oil and masks make a difference for me. This moisturizing and repairing hair oil is easy to use anytime. You can use it on dry hair or wet hair. I like to use it right out of the shower on my ends. I also use a bit before styling with my hot brush. A little bit goes a very long way. I like to start small with about a dime size amount. I work from the ends up. This definitely helps to make my hair look and feel more glossy and shiny. I do like the small bottle size too because it is packable for vacation. I am going to try it as an overnight hair oil mask this week with a shower cap and wash it in the morning for extra shine so I am ready for New Years Eve. Gifted by Sol de Janiero

I love the Sol de Janeiro scent so much and that's what originally drew me to this product. I had such high hopes for the oil but it was one of the worst hair oils I've ever used. I usually use hair oil right after the shower on my wet/damp hair and never have issues with my garnier oil but this oil is so thick and didn't spread well. It didn't glide through my hair and kept skipping when I was trying to run it through my ends. I saw on the box that it said to use ideally on dry hair so the next time I tried to use it to keep my ends soft on second day hair and only used one small pump for one side of my hair and that didn't work well either. The oil was too thick and made my hair look really oily. I didn't even use a lot of product and only on the ends. The oil would have kept my hair looking and feeling greasy if I hadn't blow dried the excess product away but after that it was like I hadn't put any oil in my hair at all. So not impressed with the oil and I ended up returning it. I'm really disappointed because I really wanted it for the yummy scent but this just wasn't it.
