I was really excited to try these out for gravel riding and mtb as the reviews for other similar styles were great but I'm a little disappointed. The Chromapop seems to really accentuate colors though blues seem more purple and I love that the lenses are replaceable. But, the glasses don't feel very secure when riding on hard packed gravel and they have bumped my helmet several times while riding (I haven't taken them mtb yet but I'm a little concerned). They could be just a bad fit for my head/face (I'm a 6' male with a large head) because they also seem to press into my brow; they are somehow too big and too small at the same time. Overall, I think if they fit better/felt more secure I would feel better about spending this much on them.

I originally bought these in Black​/Photochromic Clear to Gray as a gift for my partner, but I liked them so much that I bought a second pair for myself.We both really like these because they are so lightweight, and the photochromic lens (think transition lenses, but cooler) makes things simple so we don't have to think about carrying spare lenses to swap out in the varied PNW weather. My partner and I both tend to sweat a lot while riding, and the rubber nose bridge did not slip at all for either of us (Asian nose bridge). We both also have wider faces, and this pair fit comfortably without any squeezing. Love these; would recommend!

Been very happy with these sunglasses since I bought them. Obvious high quality look and feel that I have come to expect from Smith. Super easy to switch lenses out, and the Chromapop has been impressive to say the least. Great coverage and fit, but my only small gripe is with the nose pieces. Wish they were a little easier/more flexible to adjust to get that perfect fit, but overall some great riding glasses.

Riding in my Shift Split MAG glasses has exceeded my expectations. The ChromaPop lens makes everything more vivid and alive all with exceptional clarity and depth perception. The glasses fit perfect with my Forefront2 helmet. They're so lightweight; they don't irritate the bridge of my nose and no more water eyes. I have a hard time taking them off after a ride. Couldn't be happier with my purchase! Thanks for making my time on the bike even better than before! Looking forward to using them when the snow starts to fly.
Pros: Light-weight, lens swapping is super easy, Nice case.Cons: "adjustable" nose piece isn't really adjustable, the ear-pieces are close enough to your head where you have to wear them inside your helmet straps, and they are long enough where they touch my helmet harness. All of these result in a less than secure fit. As other reviewers have mentioned, they don't block the wind that well, probably because they sit pretty far from your face.
Photochromic Clear To Gray Lens: Fit is AMAZING. Feels like I am wearing nothing! But don't expect much tint or brightness blockage from the Photochromic Clear To Gray Lens. They do turn grey and appear darker in when you take them off and look at the color of the lens but for me, they do not dim ANY brightness at all. For me, there is no difference when the lenses are grey and I take them off and look at the horizon. The older rose lenses iI had were much better I for what I need. I use these when I start my ride in morning darkness and finish 40-60 mins later. Overall excellent frame and fit, works well in the dark, just would just not recommend the Photochromic Clear To Gray Lens.
So, I love the sunglasses, their functionality is absolutely perfect… but, they’re purple and pink. I ordered the ones called “Matte Terra / Poppy” and the pictured showed them as a kind of crimson and orange, but, they’re definitely purple and pink. I’m a guy. Luckily, I’m pretty confident and comfortable and I care about how well they work more than how they look, but they’re totally purple and pink. However, 5 star review because after years of constantly adjusting my helmet and sunglasses while racing in aero drops so I can see, I paired these glasses with the smith ignite helmet and I can see and I never have to adjust! It’s soooo nice! I can put up wearing some odd colors for that. Cheers!
These are high quality sunglasses, but they’re much larger and less curved than other Smith cycling sunglasses.Smith lists these as a medium fit, but they’re definitely for larger faces.The’re also far less curved than the other Smith models I have, such as Ruskus, Arena, and Attack. The photo is of the Shift Split vs Ruckus, the difference in size and curve is substantial.So, recommended, if you have a larger face and don’t want sunglasses with a close to the face wrap.

Since I wear corrective lenses this style does not work for me; I need a more curved design that does not allow for as large of gaps at the bottom and sides of the sunglasses. I used them for several long gravel rides and they tended to stay on my face relatively well considering how far away the bottom of the glasses hover from my face, but sweat from my helmet would often run down the front of them. Lastly, the durability and scratch-resistance of the black gold mirror lens was lacking and I found several spots on the glasses where the chrome finish has worn off. I bought these at a pretty steep discount and am even still disappointed. They come out of the box feeling loose rattly and like something you'd buy from a dollar store. Not like a $300+ product should. I have never been concerned about my glasses falling out of my helmet when stowed but these have now put that fear into me. The loosely goosey construction means they go into my helmet with no real certainty and just float around in there. Do yourself a favour and DON'T BUY THESE!
