The SmallRig Full Cage for Sony Alpha 1 and Alpha 7S III 3241 provides protection and mounting points for accessories, particularly for video recording. It is attached to the camera via a 1/4 "-20 screw at the bottom and an M2.5 screw on the side to prevent twisting. With multiple 1/4 "-20 threaded holes, it allows for the attachment of various accessories such as the SmallRig Side Handle 2093, XLR Top Handle 3082, and Monitor Mount 2904. The top features a cold shoe mount for attaching a microphone or LED light. The integrated ARRI 3/8 "-16 locating hole is compatible with the Top Handle 2165 and Monitor Mount 2903. On the left side, there is a NATO rail for attaching the Side Handle 2187. The front of the cage has two M4 threaded holes for mounting the Lens Adapter Support 1764 to protect the lens mount. Additionally, the cage comes with carrying strap slots and is equipped with a screwdriver for easy access. The optional HDMI cable clamp 3000 for Alpha 7S III protects the HDMI port. It also includes rubber pads inside the cage for complete camera protection.

With the only cage (at the time of this review) currently on the market for Sony's flagship A1, is hard to compare it to anything. However like SmallRig's other cages it's aim seems to be: keep it small. And they've done that. It adds almost no weight or bulk to your camera, but brings dozens of ways to mount and attach accessories and gear. I only wish it were a little more of an encompassing cage for the sake of feeling like it's protecting the camera.

I saw the other comment staying its not good for the A1 with battery compartment. I can confirm it's a perfect fit with no issues at all. What possible went wrong for that person: They didn't screw in the top tiny screw on upper right side. This is easily over looked and would keep the camera from sitting properly in cage.
Battery door can't open nicely due to the plate not align perfectly with the a1
This is a better cage from SmallRig than their 3669 design, which puts a securing screw through the left strap lug. The right side of the 3369 tends to bend slightly when you twist it.This cage has a screwing screw through the RIGH strap lug to stiffen the top mounting plate. You don't feel anything twisting when using a heavy top handle setup.
