I was super excited to try these! The case has a really satisfying design, smooth, round, easy to keep in your palm with a nifty small dent, the shape of a finger indent, right near the lid to assist with opening. Just lovely. When you open the lid the inside case will flash with the relevant colour to indicate battery life which is handy. The ear buds themselves have a fairly average design. The one thing I didnāt get on with was in regards to the design/shape. When the earbuds are in your ears, the straight part that comes down is at a slightly angle, meaning the flat section you use for touch instructions isnāt actually flat. Rather you end up touching a corner, often leading to having to touch the earbuds twice for a command. This also lead to accidental touch ...Ā MoreI was super excited to try these! However, the more conscious I became of this, the more I could consciously adjust on the top of the earbud only to avoid accidentally changing song. The quality of the earbuds is fab, easy touch instructions for things like changing song, pausing etc. I did however, find it a little annoying that there is a tap command (similar to the play/pause) that starts Spotify. I have spotify but use Apple Music so if I touched to play or pause a song but lingered, it would start playing a random song on spotify. I really liked that you could easily turn noise cancelling on and off - super handy when wearing them in the office. I will say though, itās not the best quality of noise cancelling iāve experienced, I can still hear quite a bit of external noise. I believe there is an app for these earbuds, Iām unsure if it makes the sound customisable or not but I havenāt used it yet. Overall, I think for the price, these are great earbuds and I would recommend to friends family.

I don't like writing bad reviews. I tried my best to work with these earbuds. I am not having much luck with Skullcandy products. At the beginning of the year I had Grind earbuds - worked great for 6 months and then they died. I've also had the Budweiser's and the Push which either had insufficient volume or were tinny. So I was hopeful for the Rails. When I got them the right ear bud would not charge higher than 90%. I talked to a support agent and he said they were defective, so I sent them back. Next pair - right earbud only charges to 90%!!! And then there's the software - terrible experience with it. If I touched the the earbuds in the wrong way, Spotify would play whether the application was open or closed. I had to delete Spotify. I also found that deleting the Skullcandy software helped, but you can't adjust volume from the earbuds alone, which is unfortunate. I'm certainly not going to return them again and get another set with a defective earbud. They're OK now - the sound quality is good when they work. I'll use them until they die, which judging from the state of the right earbud, might be six months.

The 4 star reviews are all correct, this product sounds great for a budget pair of headphones, and comes with so much customization through the associated smartphone app, but there is one big but. The app is terrible. The app frequently forgets all of the custom settings, including EQ, button mapping, and ANC/Transparency intensity. I have to open the app and adjust the settings several times a day, because I'll connect my earbuds, and they will sound like trash. I have to open the custom EQ and toggle it off and on until the EQ actually applies. The same issue applies to the button mapping. I liked the button mappings from my old Indy ANC buds, but the Rail ANC forget my mapping once or twice a day.At first I though this issue was something I was doing wrong, but ...Ā MoreThe 4 star reviews are all correct, this product sounds great for a budget pair of headphones, and comes with so much customization through the associated smartphone app, but there is one big but. I like the fit and sound of the Rail ANC, and the amount of customization in the app sounded great, except the app frequently looses your setting. This includes custom EQ and button settings meaning you have to frequently open the app and change all of the settings. The ANC works well, but the ambient mode is not great and can only be used when both earbuds are active. I can't hear the station announcements on the train with ambient mode on and the volume turned all the way down. The Bluetooth is more stable than the old Indy ANC earbuds, which is good for busy areas like train terminals. For the 10th time, and they have since been discontinued. Skullcandy gave me a coupon code to replace them off the Skullcandy store. The only reason I stick with Skullcandy is their warranty, their products break every six months, so I get a free replacement 2-3 times a year.
These buds are very well crafted. For the price of only $100 or less if on sale, you can't go wrong. The noise cancellation is definitely on par with $300 types like the Bose QC earbuds. The sound quality however, is definitely in the $100 price point range. It isn't bad but it definitely isn't as great as the aforementioned QC buds. However, the sound is more than adequate and being that I am used to a higher tear earbud, my ears are slightly biased. They fit very well in the ear. However, they could definitely use some wings in addition to the tips. The case is nice and compact and for it being plastic it is definitely not flimsy. If you want some good quality earbuds at a majorly affordable price, these are the way to go. The charge times are as advertised. I also like the cool lights on them. I don't think you can find a better pair of earbuds like these for the money.
Iāve had several different sets of Skullcandy earbuds. These are definitely the most comfortable. They are light weight and stay charged for quite a while without needing a charge even after several hours of use.The sound quality is quite good. Love Them!! The Noise Cancelling Is Great, can make a noisy warehouse sound like a quiet coffee shop, so the ANC works pretty good, in comparison to a AirPod Pro, I give these the edge, sound quality (once you tweak the in app Personal EQ) is excellent, instrument separation and sound stage is large, punchy bass, clear mids, bright trebles, for a audiophiles like myself who can pick up and the subtle details of music, these do a good job of making every distinction and instrumentation present, also love the programmable buttons, the extensive personalization of the controls is a great option to make you listening experience truly YOURS! The Skullcandy Rail ANC are my fourth pair of TWS earbuds. First, they are without a doubt the best looking pair I own. They combine matte, gloss, and transparent design elements. Second, there is a slight banana curve and the stems are very short which I really like. Third, the eartips are oval, fit my ears perfectly, and help significantly with noise cancellation. They paired quickly and without issue to my brand new Moto G 5G 2023. I suggest that buyers download the iQ app and complete the Personal Sound profile. It definitely amplifies music and I found that it was not necessary for me to apply any additional equalizer settings. Music from Pandora, YouTube, and Soundcloud along with audiobooks and podcasts from Hoopla, Libby, and Google all sound great. The additional app features of button mapping are a plus especially for volume control. The voice commands with "Hey Skullcandy" worked well for me in playing, pausing, toggling ANC, and activating assistant. My only dislikes are lack of support for Bluetooth codecs like AptX HD and the app occasionally drops my settings. Overall I would recommend these earbuds, especially when on sale as there is a lot to like.
Unfortunately, I don't find them as comfortable for long periods of wearing as I did with the Sesh ANC earbuds. Also, I find the active ANC not as proficient as the Sesh ANC earbuds even when I maxed out the sensitivity using the app. There doesn't appear to be much noise cancellation. There's some, but not as much as I expected based on the advertising. I also find because of the smooth texture of the earbuds, they slip a lot between my fingers when I try to put them in the charging case, sometimes flinging out of my fingers and go flying. Music quality is really good though, and the app is very useful with its various features. All in all, I liked my Sesh ANC earbuds better. Customer service was generous in giving me a credit towards the purchase of new merchandise which I greatly appreciated, but I would've preferred to stay with the Sesh product instead of the new Rail product after trying them both.
