Shoei Neotec 3 Grasp Helmet - Medium / TC-10

Yea, I know, it's not legal here, but I was in Europe last fall when the N3 was released. My last helmet was a Shoei GT Air (got an end-of-production of the first gen) and the comfort difference is outstanding.I don't like the ratchet strap as it complicates something that was dead simple. Switching between seasons is hard because instead of just cinching, I have to adjust to fir over a gaiter or bare neck where the double D just tightens to what it needs to be. I wish companies would stick with simple. That said, everything else in the N3 is exceptional. Guess my ECE version is a bit lighter than the US DOT version, but I can't imagine I am giving up anything. I just stuck an Iron Butt sticker on the rear where the DOT sticker would be and called it a day. If ... MoreYea, I know, it's not legal here, but I was in Europe last fall when the N3 was released. If some cop wants to make a stink, we'll deal with it.The sun shade is far better coverage, the pin lock seems to seal much better - no fogging at all where my GT Air used to let a little fog at the edges. The front vent is more than sufficient and the visor lock really seals the helmet up nice.I wear ear plugs, but this is by far quieter than the GT Air.All in all, it's the best helmet I've ever owned and I've had some really good ones.

I am a long time Simpson fan and have had others, but after extensive researching and trying on helmets in store and utilizing the wind simulator, I honestly think I found the perfect helmet for my riding style. This thing is incredible, its a perfect true fit and quiet. I installed my Cardo pack and I have been missing out for years. My helmet is now my personal entertainment center and my music sounds INCREDIBLE at 70mph on a road glide, phone calls are crisp and clear because this helmet does so well. I am glad this helmet has come into my life and the modular feature is perfect for red lights or just casual conversation. For the record, I tried on the neotec3 and the rf1400 in the wind simulator (roughly about 40-50 mph) and I didn't notice a difference to where ... MoreI am a long time Simpson fan and have had others, but after extensive researching and trying on helmets in store and utilizing the wind simulator, I honestly think I found the perfect helmet for my riding style. Just bought and returned a Shoei Neotec 2 to my local store. Ordered the Neotec 3 from here and received it within 4 days. Extremely fast international shipping. Thanks visor shop!As far as the helmet, this replaces my Shoei RF1400 full face. Comfortable, decently quiet, and the modular part is very practical. As far as the comms go, I moved my Sena 50R over to it and the speakers fit nicely. I add spacers behind them to get the speakers to sit closer to my ear and this reduces wind noise plus makes them sound better. As far as the Anthracite color, it's a tad darker than the image shows and it's a high gloss metallic flake look. Not quite what I expected but it looks good enough I'll keep it. Visor shop should update the photo of this color choice.Highly ... MoreJust bought and returned a Shoei Neotec 2 to my local store.
