Its a watch that stands out! A magnificently stylish dial with a textured centre of soft vertical lines giving a velvet grey appearance in certain light. This is separated by a mid minute counter track which is surrounded by a bold black ring with Roman numeral markings at the evens & bar batons at the odds. The day/date matches the dial colour & its window is framed in silver to match the the outer track numbers & sword style hands. The finish is good! Don't forget this IS a sub $200 watch. As with all Seiko 5's, the bracelet is a cheap feeling hollow link & it rattles. I've replaced it with a burgundy red Ostrich strap that just makes the whole watch go BANG! I'm impressed!

The main reason I chose this watch for my wife was the automatic movement which works great for keeping the watch running without batteries. However, on this little watch, it is a bit challenging to set the time, day and date using the tiny setting wheel. Overall the watch is well made, attractive and seems durable. Regarding the watchband though, I tried to remove links from it for sizing and found that to be impossible. I brought it to several jewelry stores that assured me they could remove the links but they failed to do so. The only place that was successful at adjusting the watchband size was Dakota Watch at a mall. They did it for free. In summary, it is a great watch, especially if you are tired of replacing watch batteries! She loves it!

This little bargain may become one of your favorite watches, so consider that fair warning. I have the same 7S26 movement in another Seiko, an SNK809, and I have always been impressed with its accuracy. From a functional standpoint, this watch does what I need in a dress watch, giving me a day/date display in a thin, light, accurate watch. Where it really sets itself apart is in appearance. The hands and indices remind me of the Patek Phillippe Calatrava or the older Omega Seamaster, both of which have to be called classics. This watch, at under $150, is simply beautiful, once you get rid of the Seiko bracelet and put on a nice leather strap. Get one. You will not be sorry.

I had 5 watches in my collection prior to buying the Seiko 5 SNXS73, from a 10 casio that I wear at night to an Omega diver that I wear as my main watch. But I wanted to add a cheap but respectable automatic (Seiko 5 was the obvious choice) that I can wear with a tshirt as the weather starts to warm up. I wanted something smallish, light and conformable and something that would look good on the wrist without being too sporty. This Seiko seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The bracelet is light and hollow and dare I say a bit cheap feeling but it's no less that what I expected, and I actually like the look and feel of it, and I appreciate what the watch is meant to be, which is an affordable automatic that can be worn anywhere. My watch is currently running about 2 seconds slow a day so incredibly accurate so far but we'll see how it settles in over time. I'd prefer it to be a bit more water resistant as I'm reluctant to shower with it, even though I'm sure it would be fine. All round great watch for what I needed it for, it looks great (if im being cheeky a bit rolex datejust perhaps!) and for the price it's a steal. It fills a hole in my collection and I'll be definitely adding another Seiko soon (maybe an SKX or Sarb).
This is a great watch and I'm actually shocked that it isn't sold out yet. When Mark mentioned it on his YouTube video I couldn't press buy It now fast enough. For the money you pay for this watch it's a phenomenal bargain. I agree with most, as a bracelet aficionado I do not like the band. So the first thing I bought was a $13 bracelet directly from China it should be here any day. The watch has the 7s26 caliber which from my experience in a few watches that I have owned over 20 years is like the AK-47 of the weapon world, they just keep running. The best story I can tell about this watch, goes like this.... The best story I can tell about this watch, goes like this.... Typically when I wear a watch out especially when it's one of my favorites I expect all kinds of compliments and people to mention it sometimes I'll wear a $1,500 watch and nobody will say boo. Last week I wore this watch to work and I got three compliments. Everytime I got a compliment, I was totally surprised. Like..Who me? This watch? Not the other guy? I am not sure why this bargain beauty gained so much attention, maybe the fit and finish or the pretty dial, the sporty recessed crown or just the overall snazziness the watch posseses. After that day my interest was peaked and I conducted a few experiments for myself. I had some friends and family over for 4th of July and I was showing them some of the new watches I had purchased. That bargain beauty was a hit. Now these are people are not watche collectors so they don't realize that a folded bracelet is less than desirable or that you want a sapphire crystal etc. My take away was that this is a classy little piece is a complete steal at $139.
I have one other Seiko watch and this one seems to be as good as my other watch. Seiko makes a very good entry level mechanical watch that offers fairly good accuracy and for a watch of this price is quite good at neither gaining nor losing time. No, it is not as good as a more expensive watch, however for the price it is actually better than a couple of my watches that cost 2/3 times as much. As appearances go, it is quite good looking, the face has some very nice detail and the gold hands and indices are easy to read. (My other Seiko is the same model, but this a gold face and gold hands and is very hard to read) The watch probably appears quite small compared to the large watches that are currently popular, but I find it to be comparable to the types of watches ... MoreI have one other Seiko watch and this one seems to be as good as my other watch. (My other Seiko is the same model, but this a gold face and gold hands and is very hard to read) The watch probably appears quite small compared to the large watches that are currently popular, but I find it to be comparable to the types of watches that were popular when I was young in the 60's and 70's, so the size does not bother me. My only complaint is the same complaint made by anyone who has purchased a low end Seiko. The band is crappy. However for the price, it seems worth it to buy a new band so that you can have a reliable daily wear watch that will be attractive and yet will not break the bank if any mishap should befall it during daily use. All in all a very good product at a very attractive budget price point.
Kind of hard to find a watch that looks this good for this price. Yes, I ditched the bracelet it came with and put on a different bracelet. The original bracelet is basically scrap metal, yeah that bad. Keeps good time so far. There is no hacking or hand winding but for a daily wear those really aren't necessary. It has a hardlex crystal which might be better than regular mineral but it still scratches about the same. The underside probably has the same but I really don't think that it is necessary. The 7S26 isn't much to look at and it is another piece of glass. Overall this watch isn't too big or heavy for a small wrist and looks great for a dress watch or a daily wear. The band width is definitely 18mm.
This is a $100.00 watch that looks like $1,000,000.00! This watch comes with Seiko's 21 jewel Automatic (self winding) movement. It features a 38mm stainless steel case and fits very well on your wrist. It has a stainless steel bracelet that is very comfortable and easy to open and close. It has luminous hands and hour markers which show up very nicely in low light or complete darkness. I do like that the crown is offset to the 4:00 O'clock position. I think it gives it a sleeker look and keeps the crown from catching on things. This watch comes with day and date complications and also has Seiko's proprietary scratch resistant Hardlex crystal. It sports an open clear back so you can see the movement in action which I absolutely love. The thing that stands out the ... MoreThis is a $100.00 watch that looks like $1,000,000.00! You just would NOT expect so much detail to go into a dial on a watch at this price point. If you are looking for a very expensive looking watch then go no further than the Seiko SKNL23! In my humble opinion, it's one of the best watches for your money on the market today!
This was my first automatic watch and the seiko was chosen for its clean looks and price. The watch is well made and feels good on the wrist, it was easily adjustable as well. That said, I find it fast by a couple of minutes every four days or so. Ive heard this is common with most automatic watches so I wouldnt trust it if I was somewhere remote for some time. I will switch off weekly this watch with my citizen eco-drive field watch as they both contrast each other nicely.
I have a modest collection of watches, including 2 other Seiko 5 models, one of which is 14 years old. So, the Seiko 5 is well known to me. These are fantastic watches and unbelievable at this price. Why people buy some 'fashion' watches costing 3 or 4 times the price of a Seiko 5 is beyond me! I guess some individuals follow the herd and are more concerned about brand names. Personally, I believe in the saying Fashions come and go, but style is permanent! This particular watch looks very handsome and understated with its 37 mm polished case and finely brushed lug tops. It looks especially good if you have a slim wrist and modern 40 mm plus cases look too big and ungainly. This particular watch looks very handsome and understated with its 37 mm polished case and finely brushed lug tops. It looks especially good if you have a slim wrist and modern 40 mm plus cases look too big and ungainly. The black sunburst dial is really subtle and looks great when it catches the light a particular way. It has a legible dial, with nicely applied batons and highly polished hands. The red seconds hand adds a sporty twist to the classic look. Theres the well proven, bulletproof 7S26C automatic movement, and a hardlex crystal, which whilst isn't as tough as sapphire crystal is much more scratch resistant than standard mineral crystal. The style of this particular Seiko is very much that of a business watch, and whilst it still looks fine with jeans and a polo shirt, its not really my idea of an outdoor oractivity watch, although its more than tough enough to handle almost anything you can throw at it! What's not to like? Well, not much! If you're not used to automatic mechanical watches, then you need to accept that they'll gain or lose a few seconds a day; even luxury automatics costing thousands do that... Night visibility isnt great, theres some limited lume applied to the hands, and small dots of lume at the foot of each silver baton. However, if you do want a really good watch in the dark, then Seiko do plenty! For starters take a look at the Seiko SNXS75K or SNXS77K. Also, whilst the bracelet on this watch is fine at the price, it's not fantastic. It was always my intention to buy a leather strap. Do this and the watch moves to an entirely higher level, even if you only spend as little as 15.00 to 25.00. Personally, I bought a black Hirsch Forest strap, and now the watch looks like something that would have cost over 300.00 in a high-street jewellers. If youre looking for a classy and reliable timepiece for the office, or going-out, then you can't really go wrong with this watch!
