When it works, it works. Great price Vs storage capacity, and it can last for years if you treat it right. Don't drop it or bang it on the desk - especially when it's turned on, cover it up with something if the weather is too humid.And if you're on Windows: format it to NTFS file system before you start using it - because formatting a drive deletes all the existing data on it. Newer ones come pre-formatted with the exFAT file system which is VERY problematic for Windows users. It cannot handle smaller files well and you'll get a lot of lagging and freezing when using it - especially when copying FROM it.I'm parting with this info for free as this just happened to me. Disk and productive speed of the sata drive is 7200 rpm. But you need to understand what the number of production revolutions and a large amount of noise are.
The unit was immediately plug and play and performed effortlessly over two days of solid back-up file transfer and storage and continued regular use. It is a good size for storing large video files and high resolution image files. File recovery times are fast. It connected easily with Win7, Win8 and Win10 systems.
Quitter than the NAS, in fact it’s very quite. Good size case and so far so good. Sturdy case
