This product is bad. I returned mine almost immediately. The pin that locks the handle in place is not strong enough and does not bear weight. In trying to dig a cat hole I was unable to puncture the earth without the handle collapsing.

The item came in two pieces and it was very fiddly and frustrating to get the button to line up with the hole. Once done, it could be collapsed correctly but the item does not feel very strong given that any torsion may dislodge the handle from the head. Getting the end off for the 'storage' section was also difficult and there is minimal room to store anything - certainly not enough toilet paper!

Bought this because i do multi day hikes in the high country and wanted to have hygiene/ leave no have covered. It is an excellent, lightweight trowel. Handy compartment in the handle, although a little small for your toilet paper. Maybe some wet wipes or plastic bags? I am very happy with the design and use. I had read people marking down the tool for being loose in the handle and the compartment bring difficult to open - I did not have any issue with this. Important to recognize everything is a compromise, you won't be digging post holes with this but its not intended to. Its uber light, compact and safe to stow in your pack.

Useless. Waste of weight given it doesn't work in ground with roots or any rocks. A hiking pole works better than this.
After reading the other reviews I was a little wary of this product. All I can say is that if you have mutant hands or you are trying to build a house with this trowel then this is not the product for you. If you want to simply make a small hole to poop in on a hike, or similar then this is lightweight and perfect. Hot tip, if the ground is really tough, and you're trying to save weight, use your tent peg to break the surface then use the trowel. Simple.A+ would recommend, will poop again.
Yes, it's small and light weight, however:1. Sand gets in between the sliding parts and they don't slide well no more.2. Plastic doesn't work great for digging in harder or rocky soils.3. The pointless point makes digging even harder.I would go with one of the other options.
I'd seen a few reviews and was a little hesitant to buy this product - however without wanting to purchase anything overly expensive, I thought I'd give it a go. It works just great! The toilet roll storage in the handle is great - only a little fiddly if your hands are super cold (as everything becomes in a cold climate), but the mechanism worked a treat, and the trowel folds up into a great handy travel size. Would recommend this to anyone trekking / wanting to leave no trace.
Although there are lighter options out there - especially while backpacking, this is a pretty slick tool. I like that the handle holds a small bit of toilet paper.
Not as user-friendly. The clip is not fixed, when you pull the handle back into position, the clip slides and the handle cannot be stabilised. When taken apart, the spring/clip is loose inside the handle. This is very finnicky - when on a hike, repairing will not be as easy. The concept is good though, would suggest they fix the clip to the inside of the handle for stability and ease of use. Love the space for the lighter though.
Would rather have the aluminum but it wasn't in stock and it beats an E-tool. Still great for number two!
