When we got our Bengal kitten at 6 weeks of age, she came with a couple cans of some 'designer' specialty cat food. This product had high ratings and a nutritional profile. However, it was a total miss with my kittens. They wouldn’t even take a lick. They were both hungry and kept walking to their bowls and then walking away after sniffing. I won’t be repurchasing and will donate the remaining 20 cans. I gave it several tries but they won’t eat it.

This is our 5th cat that we have adopted over the past 20 years (3 have sadly departed.), and we will ONLY feed them Hills food as we find that it really is the best for them! Our new boy (kitten), was SO excited the first few days that he was bouncing around so much and not wanting to eat a lot. We finally figured out it was like Christmas for him and sprinkled on a little of the Purina ProPlan FortiFlora/Feline (Chewy has this.), - which is a probiotic - and he LOVED it! Now, we only put the FortiFlora on a couple of feedings/day as he LOVES his Hills cat food! Whew! Now, we feed both this canned version and Hills Dry Kitten (Vet reco both - canned for the moisture/kidneys and some dry for the teeth cleaning.)

Most of the people in my family, myself included, think this smells more like "people food" than other cat foods (including the other ones in the Hill's Science Diet line) which is probably a good sign. I still think that there are too many grains/carbs in this food for cats because they are obligate carnivores, so I personally don't feed this everyday to my kitten. Besides that, he loves this food and will lick up every bit from his plate! The ingredients are more recognizable and have more texture to them -- you can see some shreds of what I think is the chicken and the rice and bits of carrot as well. I would recommend this for anyone looking to add some various textures and perhaps more wholesome ingredients (said with healthy skepticism because there are ... I have two 4-month-old kittens and let me tell you they are picky little guys! Every time we found a food that we thought they would like one of them might have liked it the other one would just turn his nose up at it until we found these Hill's Science Diet canned kitten foods. We feed them a combination of the Chicken & Liver Entree, Tender Chicken Dinners, and the Healthy Cuisine Tender Chicken & Rice Medley now they finish their bowls every time! I am a loyal Hill's customer.
Our kittens love this wet food. It's what they were on at the shelter. We tried changing it up. Epic fail. The kittens are the other brand, but never finished their meal. They've had some stomach issues in the past. We give them this wet food and also the Science Diet Dry food. They're big fans! We are too.
The kitten loves the product though his BM’s have been exceedingly smelly since we switched. My biggest complaint is with your feeding guide. Are you using AI or employees who English is a second language to articulate the feeding guide? What is meant by 1 3/8 in the guide? Is that almost one and a half cans? Is that one and a half tablespoons? One and a half pounds? Get it together Hills. We are paying a premium for the product because we love our pets. You should put a little more effort into this. Thank you.
When my rescue kitty came from the shelter this was the only food that didn’t upset her stomach. As she’s growing unto an adult I’m transitioning her over to the adult version. I would of loved to have her on something more organic, but this food works for her! And she loves it!
The Smolcat and I like the moist, soft texture that resembles diced food but is softer than most dice and easier for The Smolcat to eat, since she laps at it instead of chomping. However, she doesn't much care for the flavor - she'll eat a few bites of it, then leaves it until it's been out too long and I remove it. However, she DOES like the same brand's kitten Chicken with Liver food, which has a very similar texture. I won't be buying this flavor again.
My 6 & 8 month old Kittens are LOVING this wet food. Before I made the switch, I was feeding them a wet food from a different brand and they just weren't loving it / excited about it! After reading the reviews of this product, I was sold that I had to give it a try. These kitties can't get enough of it. They lick their bowls clean! And it's true that the kitten food resembles human food! It looks like a stew and smells good too! I also feed my Kitten's Hill's dry food and they love that too. Definitely recommend if you want to give your kitties a tasty meal that's good for them too :)
