Schecter Reaper-7 Multiscale 7-String Electric Guitar Satin Charcoal Burst

At first glance the aesthetic matches exactly how beautiful the instrument sounds. I played this through my Preavy 6505+ Head and it was like adding chemical X to a already very heavy and melodic formula. Every knob has a purpose and the potential to reach every dynamic required for every heavy and dissonant music style. It’ll give your chugs more depth, and your power chords more sustainability. Allowing you to easier hear and correct your mistakes. Making this guitar a tool to improve overall technique. Only buy a guitar like this when you know your purchase is going to be an investment, it deserved to be played and enjoyed for the long run.

I wanted to get a 7 string after 14 years of playing guitar. I had one a few years ago, but it was cheap and not so good, I honestly hated it. I did some research and ultimately decided on this one and it is well worth the price. Absolutely shreds and is incredibility easy to play. The neck is really thin and the fret work is perfect. The Schecter brand pickups are surprisingly great as well. It honestly feels like a higher end guitar than what it is. It came set up really well, I just did a few minor adjustments. The only thing I don't love about it is the finish. It doesn't look that good in real life, just kinda plain. But it really doesn't affect anything so it's whatever. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new 7 or want a high end model.

I've been playing guitar for 20 years, and I wanted to see what all the hype was with fan fret guitars. I love low tuning metal, and and some Djent. This looked like it was going to be hard to get used to but My hand just knew where to go. It took me no time before I was flying across the fretboard. I've played it in standard and loved it, and dropped it down to G and it handled the heavier strings and low tuning no problem. The pick ups are clear as a bell even when using massive amounts of gain, and the neck is just a joy to hold. I've played it clean as well, and the neck pickup has a clear as glass tone that would impress even the most jaded guitarist. And I mean just look at these things, they are beautiful. When i first got this guitar I was having issues with my amp but I was lead to believe it was the guitar at first..after getting the amp fixed the damn thing just sings like you wouldn’t believe! The pickups are hot and coupled with my high gain amp the clean channel has a little breakup toward the high volume side but it’s not terrible in fact it’s quite nice...but the cool tap solves all that, so no issue whatsoever! I bought the inferno burst and it’s gorgeous and plays better than it looks. I’ve been playing guitar off and on for 20 years. I just recently tried playing a 7-string regularly but it was a cheap Ibanez. I enjoyed the 7-string so much, I started looking for a new 7-string. I’m new to a multi-scale guitar and I was nervous buying one without playing it. I took a leap of faith and bought this guitar after watching reviews on YouTube. This guitar doesn’t disappoint. It sounds good clean, it wails on varying distortion channels, it plays easy. Pinch harmonics scream from this guitar. Well worth the $$$. I didn’t have to change much with my playing style except for palm muting. It’s taken me a few days getting used to the angle. Other than that no complaints.

I tune mine to drop F and I get ideal tension across all strings (though I’m sure it will work just as good for higher 7 string tunings!)-The price is ideal for someone who’s not ready to shell out the money for a high end multiscale (Ormsby, Skervesen, Aristides, Mayones, etc.) while also still being a quality instrument without the shoddy QC of some of the cheap multiscale brands (Agile, Legator)-The looks. I have the Inferno finish and it looks just as sick up close as it did in the pictures, so I’m the sure the other two finishes look just as good in person too. If you’re a fan of burl tops, you’ll love theseCons-The pickups aren’t the greatest in the world. They aren’t bad at all, but if you’re someone who’s used to playing, say, Fishman or Bareknuckle, you’re probably going to notice a pretty big difference. The way the pickups are installed at an angle will probably make it pretty challenging to swap out, so if you plan on doing that, make sure you have someone who really knows what they’re doing or else just spend the extra money for a multiscale with better pickups-No locking tuners. I’m sure you could find some locking tuners that would fit this guitar, I just haven’t looked around yet. But yeah, locking tuners would have definitely been a plusOverall, a very solid guitar for the price. If you’re looking to break into the world of multiscales but aren’t quite sure you’re ready to shell out the money for a high end one, this is a great place to start.

Possibly the first time in my extensive guitar buying history, that I have not felt the need to immediately swap pickups because the diamond decimators are beastly. Coil tap via push pull tone knob gives great single coil tones as well, this guitar sounds fantastic clean, or as distorted as possible. Though I hated the headstock when I first got it, it’s now one of my favorite parts of the guitar. Having all 7 tuners on a side has been amazingly helpful as well, as a guy who had played few 7 stringers before this incredible beast. The fretwork is absolutely perfection, the neck is actually very thin, combined with an incredibly flat radius (20” I believe!) it is incredibly comfortable. I can say that switching over from 6 strings was definitely easier than I thought it would be. Exceptional craftsmanship, pickups absolutely... well, decimate. I haven't gotten my new amp yet, but the guitar still comes through pretty well on my little practice amp. A little paint on the inside of the pickup hole was scratches, but barely, and has no effect on the guitar other than cosmetic. Overall, a great buy and you will not be disappointed. Tried this at guitar center in riverdale utah absolutely loved it! Killer for the price ! Good multiscale action and plays very very fast . Very very high quality finish work too . Amazing. This guitar might just Reap your guitar collection and maybe your soul lmao 🤣. The pickups are simply amazing. They sound so sonically incredible. Midrange is excellent .
