This model by Schecter is more comfortable than other models. The neck is not as thick. Cool red finish on the one I have. The pickups are good for any kind of distortion. I usually swap the bridge pick up but don't have to on this one. Unique inlays and rosewood fretboard. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable mid priced guitar that sounds good!! Check one out for yourself!!

I'm not sure how one customer could have received 4 of these that were all bad...maybe a bit of exaggeration, or someone who just doesn't know how to setup a guitar. I've been playing for 37 years now, and have owned countless Schecter guitars. This one is on par with the best of them. For the money, any other brand in this category cannot compete! The neck plays very well and the fretwork is great! The tuners are stable and the pickups are decent. IMO, locking tuners would be more desirable and the pickups could be a bit more robust and clear as well...hence the 4 stars. However, that said, neither HAVE to be upgraded in order to play this guitar live or in the studio. You may need to tweak your EQ a bit, but that's a small price to pay for this guitar's ... Overall:Ok, so I love the looks of this guitar! The pictures do not do it justice! The problem is that it had a loose neck bolt/screw. zZounds did great getting it returned, but I had to drive 86 miles round trip to ship it back. Plus spend $16 for packing material which I drove another 18 miles to get. The process is slow, which means I can’t play! It’s frustrating to say the least! Second guitar I bought here that had issues. Honestly, I don’t really know how it got past Schecter QC, but it did. Now I have spent multiple hours to get something right that should have been right from the start! Not to mention waiting. I think I will buy guitars from someone else in the future. Everything else I purchased here has been awesome. So for me, I will say that zZounds has ... MoreOverall:Ok, so I love the looks of this guitar! The pictures do not do it justice! I have been a fan of Schecter for a while, and two others from a higher price point already. I bought this one as a practice guitar to keep in a more accessible area out of my studio. For this purpose it works pretty well. The tuning slips a bit too easily sometimes, and the intonation is a bit off in some spots, but not so much that I can't live with it. The action feels pretty good to me. Breeze to play on, and the neck being satin and narrow also makes fretwork much quicker. The tuners themselves are smooth and easy to turn. I didn't find any of the frets sharp at all. Pups are nice and get the job done, knobs have a rubber grip that makes them easy to turn. The pup switch operates pretty smooth as well. All in all it is a pretty solid guitar. Where I dropped it ... MoreI have been a fan of Schecter for a while, and two others from a higher price point already. Pups are nice and get the job done, knobs have a rubber grip that makes them easy to turn. The pup switch operates pretty smooth as well. All in all it is a pretty solid guitar. Where I dropped it a star is because the face of the body where the binding would normally be... is sharp. It won't cut you but if you practice sitting down it starts to hurt the underside of your forearm after a while. There are also rough spots around this fine 90 degree edge where the finish was chipped or something before they polished it. Very tiny imperfections so unless you run your finger along the edge or look closely you won't notice it, but your arm will feel the fine edge for sure while sitting down. If you only play standing up then you'll do just fine. Schecter can do better, as I've experienced with two higher end ones I have bought from them in the past, but it is a pretty nice little guitar for what it is. I think I'll just have to by an arm band to protect my arm in the future though.
OK, this is odd. I got this guitar yesterday, not in the original box, it came in a damaged roadrunner guitar case box, and I was super concerned about that. Also, it just had bubble wrap inside the box, so I know someone did something to this guitar. However, after carefully visually inspecting the guitar there were no cosmetic problems, and after connecting to my Amp all electronics were good. Now: I do have an Omen Extreme, and I will say the elite has better playability and is of lighter weight. The pickups are definitely different as the extreme has a sound clarity which you can definitely tell is more so than the elite when played clean. For solo guitar work either one would be a good choice. But for rhythm guitar you would need to hear both to see which would ... MoreOK, this is odd. For solo guitar work either one would be a good choice. But for rhythm guitar you would need to hear both to see which would work best for you, and that might well be situational. The volume and tone knobs have a rubber like strip so it is very user friendly. Also, on my guitar their are 2 each semi-circle cutouts centered on each side of the 2 pickups. So if you plan on swapping the pickups out be aware.
This guitar is AMAZING!! Lightning fast neck! Smooth and no sharp frets. The pick ups can crunch and play superbly well on clean. I am glad I bought this guitar. I have had many EMG powered p/u and honestly I feel like I am starting at the beginning again. Passive is definitely the way to go. The heretic pick ups can do damage and they mean it! The fixed bridge is beyond awesome! You barely notice it there and don't worry about tune. Once you're on that perfect pitch....have at it! Played from 311 to Chevelle to Killswitch. This guitar is more than what you pay for!! The see-thru blue pops in person!! Pictures do not do it justice.
Okay so I had new guitar glasses on and it's been a few monthes... The quality control issues are making these guitars unplayable. I got mine as a b stock and was promised nothing was wrong with playability. The test showed that was a real big lie when I got I. The neck is twisted and a gap in the neck pocket with sharp frets up and down the sucker. Don't waste your money the mahogany body is super soft like balsa. I tried to get a little help from the person I bought it from on reverb he told me to kick rocks basically and thanks for the money. This guitar just sits like someone else's trash in my room. Can't trick somebody else into buying this... Thanks schecter and thanks Ohio music stores haha what a joke people are in these times
Overall:Frets ends are rough . setup was none , meaning all string buzzed , radius not set etc . rusty screws on pickups , like guitar seemed it been sitting on a dock somewhere ? Damaged D string , it had nice pinch in it ..so restring . Neck has a small gap from body cut away . a little disappointed but it sounds great
The guitar is surprisingly lightweight , the variation in tones make it a joy to experiment with.Delighted with the quality of the finish, but the blue colour is considerably darker than it appears in most videos, it looks around 80% black,so maybe not all identical. Other than that im pleased with my purchase.
Sound:I think the Heretic pickups are a nice change to most stock pickups they are hot but sound great dirty. chords ring nicely voicing is excellent for metal and rock. Cleans up well too. But pickups could be a bit more dynamic. Great guitar if metal is all you want to play.Features:Quality control shows on the model I purchased it isn't very good. Gapping in the pocket from neck to body shape upper frets just wasn't pleased to be honest .Overall:I just ordered an elite 6 as well the fit in the neck socket is not good I could fit a good size credit card in there. The high frets were sharp and bit jagged and in need a dressing and crowning. A tool mark on the horn and in the gap of where it bolts on can't tell if it's scratched or cracked. I emailed zZounds ... MoreSound:I think the Heretic pickups are a nice change to most stock pickups they are hot but sound great dirty. chords ring nicely voicing is excellent for metal and rock.
