Great product. Yes the straps aren’t much chop but if you pull the buckle over and put a cable tie through the buckle and through the slot in the base of the spike shoe it works a treat. You paid $9, stop expecting them to work like a professional machine. You get what you pay for. Stop your whinging. I’ll attach pics of how I cable tied them.

These sandals are a cheap and effective way to aerate your lawn. I would say that the straps really do need to be burnt or melted a little before starting and make sure that they are tucked away. Otherwise you will end up standing on them and causing some damage to the straps. I flipped one set of straps over so they to up different directions and marked the sandals as L & R. I would recommend these for a smallish garden, but probably would need to hire something bigger if I was really serious about it.

Dangerous - Do Not Buy! - Extremely cheap and nasty straps... Strap broke while in use, sandal flipped over and in the stumble I stood back down on the sandal spikes up. Luckily I had decent shoes on and although they went straight threw, managed only minor punture wounds on my foot. Extremely dangerous.

These work perfectly if you move the end strap (near the toe) back towards the middle of your foot in the next strap loop down. Also helps if straps are tight. Stomp 1 metre left to right side by side and move forward a foot length and work your way back a metre and continue until your lawn is aerated. Highly recommend these for $9.
I purchased these after reading the reviews and also bought a set of cam buckle straps from Bunnings. This is the best purchase I have ever made to keep my lawn in top condition.Once getting used to walking in them, i now use them mowing the lawn when needed. The cam buckle straps are so simple to use..
I bought these sandals despite the negative reviews because the positives were glowing. I have a ladies size 7 feet and I was able to comfortably fit into the sandals. I wore runners and fiddled with the straps until I found a way to loop and securely tighten them.I was wobbly on my feet to begin with because there is a lot of clay in my area but eventually I found my stride on the lawn. Apart from needing to tighten the back straps a couple of times it was very satisfying to get the job done relatively quickly.
Glad I didn't let the bad reviews put me off buying a pair. Used them today and it does the job.The foot plate and spikes are good quality sand straps are a bit average, but hey these are only $9!!!Heel straps are a bit short and the toe straps bit long, but managed to still get it to fit in my runners. Suspect the straps are actually installed wrong way around...so will prob switch around at some point. When on and using them they work well if you go slow and kinda walk like you're wearing flippers, that is just lifting your foot flat up and down.Straps do loosen after several steps but you just adjust, but no way near was bad as some people say. Don't walk like they are runners...Again for $9 it's pretty good
So the misso bought these 6 months or so ago, so today I thought I should show some support and appreciation and donned the outback cricket shoes. On they go... till I do up the straps with plungers on. Now imagery instructions show shoes, makes me believe they are more suited to a Lords pitch then a Gabba or SCG as they are more sloppy then ya lawn after 14 beers and the forgotten soaker hose. BUT! After a couple of half hitches, I stood up and took a few steps, reminded me of the time I was walking out of the change rooms with boot studs on concrete about to slay the opposition and I hit the grass and sunk!! It was (and you know aeration when it happens) a moment of bliss! 1 step two step and snap, gone for a duck!.So, upon DRS review, I'd like to know how ... MoreSo the misso bought these 6 months or so ago, so today I thought I should show some support and appreciation and donned the outback cricket shoes. On they go... till I do up the straps with plungers on. Also... what grit sand paper to sharpen?
The bases are good but the straps and clips are rubbish. All clips broke before I could complete 100m2 lawn or less. Had to use other straps and tie them on. Be prepared for them to fall. Off and clips to break. Work well when not breaking or falling off shoes.
Bought these to aerate my lawn. Tried 3 different types of shoes and the straps come loose every time. Twice caused me to fall over and nearly damaged my ankle. Once the straps come loose, your foot slips out and it is very easy for the samdal to flip over so that the spikes are now facing upwards and you nearly pierce your foot with these sharp spikes. The most dangerous product Bunnings sells, and they should be taken off the market.
