I use the 2018 model IPad Pro 12.9 LTE 1gb model. I use it solely as a l;atop replacement and for music production whilst on the road. I saw this little dongle after someone mentioned it in a comment. I preordered it immediately.I was happy that the product was shipped sooner than expected. The fit and finish match well with the SG IPad (yep I chose the SG finish). The ports all work as expected. I use an Ethernet cable on this iPad daily with a Anker USB-PD power brick. Firstly, Ethernet and HDMI work great and power ... charges okay with 18W, but 30W recommended. Secondly, using Apple earphones 3.5mm, the volume on bar 1, is practically max volume. So the hub first off has a sound card issue perhaps? Something to be passed on to Satechi. I suggest would work better with headphones that has a secondary volume control like the steel series arctic pro that has a volume wheel. Thirdly, may be hard to find a compatible case. I will be switching to the hyper drive power 9 in 1. But for now this will suffice.

The unit works well. when you plug a device into one oif the four ports it does click into place and is held quite well. my only concern is Mechanical Fit. Where the unit attaches to my Ipad Pro,the connection snaps into place firmly but the unit itself does not seat well against the ipad pro body. It has enough play to "rock" longitudinally against the body easily. Also it is easily torqued in any direction. If you hang a small card reader in the USB port it does hold in place, but, my fear is ultimately it may damage the port on the Ipad over time. as the unit is wider than the Ipad pro...maybe a small finger or brace is necessary to stabilize the unit and protect the port on the Ipad.
It is a good fix for the big hardware issue on the 2018 iPad Pro, no headphone jack. The only thing I would add is a magnet or two to help keep it firmly attached to the device. As the iPad has them, you might as well use them.Now for the device. The sound you get from the jack is loud and clear... no distortion. Further it has an hdmi, as well as a usb a and c port. The usb a can be used to charge an iPhone or ant other device that uses an a port, the c allows charging via an 18 w or 12w usb c charger. Also it can connect to other devices using those formats.Over all as I stated itās pretty good, add the magnets and it would be perfect....

I bought mine for using Office, but also recording music editing photos, videos and gaming. The ability to transfer files both ways on an iPad was long overdue. However, the iPads main drawback is a single USB C input. When hooked up via a USB C port to a MIDI interface, apps like Cubasis and GarageBand are power hungry but there is no additional means of charging the iPad at the same time. However, the wireless headphones came with a jack cable enabling their use now! All in all, this has been a fantastic addition to my set up and Iād recommend it to anyone who wants to enhance the versatility of their iPad, iPhone or any other USB C device. Itās well made, high quality in terms of materials and very easy to use. Yes itās not the most exciting purchase in terms of what it is (itās an adaptor at the end of the day!) but the reward is in the functionality, which is where it excels.

Frankly, I would love to give you 4 or 5 stars due to your sensible design size and combination of ports versus others which is too huge a block of metal stuck to the iPad which is supposed to be a compact tablet; but unfortunately, I still haven't got the chance to use yours yet because you have chose to use USPS which is like shipping this item passing over a black hole. I totally lost track of it. USPS' online info pointer that this item is already on my shores but for 2 weeks now, it hasn't got to my hands in a city of less than 300 square miles and only 15 miles from the city center where I live. I just have to keep waiting silently hioping that it will show up or maybe won't. This adapter is terrible. I have been using it consistently for 6 months now and the biggest flaw is that it doesn't lock. It is very annoying and inconvenient to have the adapter slip out the socket every two seconds. Makes me regret buying a Mac which requires all this expensive equipment to use it.

Iām not sure if itās my adapter in particular or the whole series, you can test it by plugging any earphone directly to a phone whit a headphone jack (or plugging it to the adapter alone without connecting it to the iPad) and then trying them with the adapter and the iPad or any USB C device, there is that annoying noise.
