So here are the flaws:1. Logitech wireless keyboard / mouse (or any other wireless bundle I've tried) works amazingly bad with this dock. Mouse movements lack smoothness and jump all the time, keyboard presses are not recognised way too often. If I connect the dongle to another (cheap Chinese) dock - everything works as it should.2. When you are connecting / disconnecting power to / from the dock and have some USB flash drives connected in it - beware, flash drive will become corrupted and you'd need a PC to make it work again. This is just ridiculous.3. Scratches easily, not the same quality coating as the Macbook itself.Summary - garbage product for 90$. Get a Chinese one for 1/3 of the price.

I have been using this product for more than 5 years. But recently, it become too hot and sometime often my display becomes black for a second then come back. First I thought loose connection but not. The charge USB C cable of MBP was too connected to the adapter, considering it my warming up the adapter, I moved to an independent USB C port but it still have the same problem.

I have two of these. One was bought with the laptop and a HD monitor. It delivers 4K seemlessly. It has three USB slots, a USB C input, SD card reader and a micro reader. It gives me a great hub for the laptop and extends is productivity. I do notice that the USB C input does not supply enough current for running my laptop and providing HD for the monitor. This is not a problem as I have 3 now vacant USB C slots on the laptop to choose from.It is so convenient I purchase another one, so I can have the same productivity at two locations. A very happy chappy.

This is a good product overall. It's very fast in showing the display in high resolution displays so good quality in therms of video. However, this is not a long lasting product, here the quality is very low. I have had to purchase 3 of these in the last 2 years. It suddenly stops working and there is not a reason I can tell why. Unfortunately this is why I can't give 5 stars.
I bought this in August last year from JB Carindale. It was recommended to me by the attendant when I purchased a 13" MacBook Pro, as the computer only has USB-C ports and I wanted an all-in-one solution for multimedia and USB devices. It seemed like good value at the time and I also used it on a Dell XPS 13. I am a photographer and frequently need to download photos to my computer as well as work with an external monitor. The device was ok initially, although display output was not always steady (some flickering/disconnection). Picture quality was acceptable compared to other USB-C 4K HDMI adaptors. However, over time, connection difficulties arose and the device is now unusable. I also bought the Apple USB-C to USB adaptor for a fraction of the price at the same time and this is still working perfectly (although not the same feature set obviously). For the high price yielding about 1-year's use, this is not acceptable to me. Satechi should offer better warrantee support and build quality. I would not recommend this product unless build quality and warrantee improve. Brand loyalty goes a long way..
I purchased this adapted over others available mainly for the additional network port which most others don’t have. The device works as advertised. The USB-C pass through charging works with Satechi’s Type-C 75W Travel Charger which I also purchased. The device gets slightly warm during use but nothing out of the ordinary. I had no issues connecting up to an external monitor via the HDMI port. The space grey colour matches my MacBook Pro perfectly.I ordered this device from Australia. Delivery was under a week and the courier service which they use (DHL) was able to deliver to my PO box which was an added bonus.I would be happy to recommended this device based on my initial impressions.
Got this for a MS Surface Tablet. It dos the job OK but the power output from the Surface is so average that we had to play with what connections to optimise output to a 55" 4K screen and an eternal Poly webcam-speaker. There's not enough power in the Surface to run the 2 without a permanent power connection. We now run the HDMI via the Satechi Hub with a Logitech pointer in the USB-A port and the USC-B from the Surface to the 55"4K screen. It works fine with a 16" MacBook Pro as this has got a better power output and can even run to our external devices off a battery power supply.Just make sure you check the actual power requires before expecting this device to perform with all ports connected. It just won't be able to do it with some hardware.
This is my second product from Satechi. Over a year and half ago I purchased the first generation Type-C Multi-Port Adapter to pair with my space grey MacBook Pro. It was the only USB-C adapter available that had all of the ports I needed while complimenting the design and quality of an Apple product. Unfortunately, the HDMI port stopped working after the warranty period had long since expired. I emailed Satechi hoping they might give me discount code to purchase a new one and instead they offered to replace it! I only had to cover the cost of shipping the defective unit to them and within a week I received the newer second generation version as a replacement! I’m still keeping this as it works OK. What i don’t like about this is that my Mac Book Pro won’t go to sleep if I’ve a devices plugged into the HDMI. It doesn’t matter if the big screen TV is off, I have to unplug the HDMI cable for my laptop to go to sleep. The second problem is the the USB power frequently stops charging my laptop. MacOS will mention that it’s no longer charging but on battery standby. The problem is that sometimes I go to open my laptop and the power is drained.I’ve kept it because it’s a lot of effort to find a better setup. Although I had wanted to have a single cable to plug in, I can’t because I need to plug a speedster USBC for power.I’ve heard from a friend that the way to go is pick something up at the Apple Store as it’ll work the ... MoreI’m still keeping this as it works OK. I've been using one of these with my MacBook Pro for about six months now. It works great, even if it gets a little over-warm. But I've had a problem with it for all that time: the ethernet cable at my desk kept popping out of the adaptor. The cable wouldn't click in and lock into place like ethernet cables always do. It would stay in, until someone bumped my desk or anything moved around, in which case the cable would slide out a couple of millimetres -- enough to break the connection.I thought it was a busted clip on the cable. But by the time I got around to requesting a new one from IT, I discovered the new cable didn't click in either. Curious, I tried the same two cables on my colleague's Satechi adapter, and found that neither cable clicked in ... MoreI've been using one of these with my MacBook Pro for about six months now. Curious, I tried the same two cables on my colleague's Satechi adapter, and found that neither cable clicked in there.TL;DR: It seems the ethernet ports on these adapters do not allow ethernet cables to lock into place, so they dislodge very easily.
