Samyang 10mm F2.8 Sony E Lens
The Samyang 10mm f2.8 ED AS NCS CS lens features parameters and capabilities comparable to the best wide angle prime and zoom lenses on the market. This manual focus optic is an ideal tool for indoor, architecture, sport, journalism and landscape photography. It provides an exceptionally wide field of view of up to 109.5 degrees and rectilinear image mapping function. Owing to a fast f2.8 lens speed you can also use the lens in low light conditions. The optics comprise 14 elements divided into 10 groups, including 2 aspherical AS lenses and one lens made from extra-low dispersion (ED) glass. This is also the first Samyang lens to feature a nano crystal anti-reflection coating system. This technology provides better light transmission, increased resistance to reflections and higher contrast. All of this translates into the supreme optical resolution of the lens. Close focus distance of 24cm. Comes complete with front lens cap, rear lens cap and lens pouch.

Bought used from Wex. Would have liked a wider prime lens - 8 or 9mm - but this is a quality lens from a maker I trust. On Olympus bodies it's a bulky lens but can be hand-held easily. The distance scale is accurate and the aperture ring is precise. The focus stays where it's set.

Very sharp lens and great images. Very wide angle so there is some distortion but that can be adjusted on processing (Luminar 2018, Photoshop, Affinity, etc). Well pleased with the quality and performance. Manual focus is not an issue - also setting aperture and shutter speed manually, just like in the time of real photography!

After using a (Nikon) 14mm full-frame lens from Samyang and being very happy I purchased this AP-C 10mm lens. The result is the same, very good build quality and good optical performance. The size and weight is on the large side for an AP-C camera but if you need a super-wide angle lens, this is a good choice.

I bought this lens mainly to take pictures of thhe starry sky, landscape astrophotos. It is a wide angle lens, wide enough to fit the Milky way, with foreground objects like buildings, monuments or nature formations like rocks. I found it easy to focus at the infinity. The only drawback of this lens is that it doesn't connect electronicaly to the camera so you dont have any exif data. I would warmly recomment this lens to amateur astrophotographers.
I wanted a wide angle lens to finish my lens line on the wide end. I wanted something pretty fast with good optics. This lens fit the bill.I was a little hesitant to get a strictly manual lens but I have had no issues using the manual features. Plus, my Panasonic G85 does some auto functions even with the full manual lens. The lens was longer and heavier than I expected. It's about the same length as my 100-300mm Lumix lens and a few ounces heavier. This has not been an issue since the f/2.8 handles low light pretty well even without a tripod. I really expected to see a significant fisheye distortion but was very pleasantly surprised at how little there is. This lens is already seeing use.
I was little nervous while waiting for this lens to come. Never before have not had so wide angle lens. Also Samyang was new to me and I didn't find any information, test or opinion of this lens, so I was swaying if I will keep or send it back. After 2 months I find it very useful and interesting. It is heavy and it does little barrel distortion, that is easy to take away in post processing. Picture quality is nice. Great depth of view makes pics sharp from 1 meter to infinity, don't have to worry about sharpening. Lens was not so expensive either, has been easy to lean to love it, jouni
This is an affordable, well-constructed lens, but edges and corners really let it down, and distortion is very high. Flare is more of a problem than youd expect, particularly if shooting into the light. Centre frame is very good, if some way short of superb. This is an extreme lens. Extreme lenses are difficult and expensive to engineer and, alas, the asking price for one of these is too low to expect top-flight optical engineering. If anyone could do it, Samyang could, but not this time. Id recommend the 16mm as a much, much better lens and probably about as wide as you should go if you arent prepared to spend 800+
This lens is EFs compatible only. CROP SENSOR CAMERA ONLY. It doesn't clearly state this and claims on the box 'EF' fit! It should really state 'for EFS' cameras only. BE WARNED! I owned a Samyang 14mm lens with the same packaging that was fine on my 5DS..... go figure? Photo shows the result using this lens on a full frame camera!
This is a monster of a lens when used on MFT cameras. Handheld it sits well and quality is good - contrasty and sharp. On tripods it is unbalanced. There is no other fixed focal length 10mm for MFT.
I bought this lens for my Canon 7D2 APSC camera for doing astro work and landscape. This lens is so wide and fast at F2.8 and ideal to let as much light as possible. Pin sharp and hardly any soft edges. Im really please with the Samyang 10mm and at that price why wouldn't you. Delivery was tracked all the way and was package and delivered without any issues what so ever. Highly recommend this lens.
