I inherited my Galaxy tab e from my Dad. My Dad has had his tablet since 2017. He recently passed away. He was proud of his life and he loved his tablet. He was 87 Korean war vet and he worked the tablet like a pro. I recently reminded myself to write a review on this tablet because as I was running water for a bath, the phone rand and it scared me so much that I jumped and dropped the tablet. It was completely submerged in the bath water and you know what...that darn thing still works. I have had no issues since it went for a swim. I am more careful now but I highly recommend this tablet.

A very basic tablet with no bells or whistles

If you're looking to spend a couple hundred on a tablet that will allow you to read a book or some light browsing then this is a tablet for you. The battery is excellent but that's about the only good thing about this tablet.It's sluggish, barely runs anything without hiccups including the browser. Samsung should have thought out the hardware differently or installed it with a stripped down version of their TouchWiz and Android for this. It is not built for a full on experience. Back and recent buttons are not as responsive, they do not light up either. Screen is 720p with a poor DPI, you can clearly see the pixels and fuzziness. Samsung's resolution solutions do nothing to fix this. Speaker is serviceable but not nearly loud enough, especially since it's on the back of the device instead of the sides like so many other tablets out there. Nothing else about this tablet stands out except for the weight, its a heavy one.Save your money and buy something else, there are plenty of tablets out there that outshine this one by a mile for the same or close to the same price. If I could have exchanged this tablet I would have.

The camera is absolutely terrible, nothing like the cameras from the former tab a 8in that I had! it also will not capitalize automatically at the beginning of a sentence as you can see here. I have attempted to correct the rest of them throughout this review but if you look carefully you can see exactly what happens. the sound is not good, much of the time either muffled or too quiet to hear. it doesn't hold a long charge, if using it I may get 3 hours at Best. when it is charging the charger tends to become very warm, very warm, in the tablet itself becomes over-heated even when shut off to charge. tried I have tried everything! and as you can see this sentence has another glitch, where it will pick up on some words twice, it legs terribly and locks up when I try to make a correction! in addition to not capitalizing in the beginning of the beginning of a sentence you will notice that it capitalizes strange words in the middle of the sentences oh, I have no idea why?? and for some reason every time I try to use a, I get oh, or how, or some other word prior to the,.I have always purchase Samsung tablets and telephones but this will be my last time!! I can't even find a case to fit this tablet. I followed the serial numbers to the exact match and, as most other feedback oh, I found that there was no way I could squeeze this into the tablet cover that was designed for this specific tablet.Thank goodness I purchased a warranty because this is going back!!!

Good but not great for games :/

Cons: This tablet is great for the apps it came with but on ALMOSTEVERY APP ON THE PLAY STORE SAYS MAY NOT BE OPTOMISED FOR YOUR DEVICE! Every time I wanna type or go on an app I have to remember to tap TWICE!!! Now my tablet 3 years later already has a ton of problems like when I wanted to restart it I did and it restarted 100000 times on its own like wow! Once I wanted to download something I did and I downloaded once but it said I already did but I didn't even do it yet! Games on this are really slow also like on Roblox and Minecraft they are so laggy my best friend has an ipad I played Minecraft and roblox on it and I can totally compare the two! Whenever I charge it it turns on right? Then I close it and in the MIDDLE of the night it turns ON!!!! So then I charged it outside my room but same thing :( The camera resolution is very low ( pixels everywhere )but I guess that's what to expect for the price of the tablet... The price is good for a tablet like this especially when it's on sale! Writing this was such a pain and took me a few hours because of the laggy keyboard and also,it seems to never update it stays the same until it dies I think they do small updates to the icons but that's it! At least you can can change the font but it is good for YouTube but I don't like how speakers are at the back and whenever you record with the camera you accidental put your finger on the speaker and it makes it sound weird. The tablet is also a bit heavy so I bought a stand for it but I hope it won't break cause it is a bit thin ! A warning from me is to buy a case for this too because i dont really use cases but once i didnt have my case and It shocked the tablet and the screen broke and it had gray and white lines on the middle of the screen and i was so sad but luckily they went away a little while later and all that was left were kind of transparent lines and pixels on the screen. Please be sure to always set this tablet on a table as I said it is a bit heavy so lay it on a table so you dont drop it! I think I might have this tablet for 2 more years before it completely shuts down and I can't turn it on anymore. Without the plans you can have this for a year before it starts having the small issues but in total you might have it for 4 years before it shuts off! Overall the cons and cons this tablet is good for YouTube and all the apps it came with it has long battery life and it is wide too. Great device for basic uses.

First, let me say that if you want a device that can handle many multiple open apps and and lot of open tabs then you will be disappointed. That said I love this device. I use it for emails, surfing the web and some basic computer uses. The screen is big enough to give me a wonderful NetFlix or video experience. The processor is not the fastest but does work well for basic needs. The screen resolution is fine and with a holder that rotates between portrait and landscape makes this a joy to use. I fire this up in the morning and it runs all day. Like I said it is a basic tablet but well made and has very good screen size and resolution for my needs. It’s good for its price

For a lower end tablet It'd definitely worth the money. Slower then most but not the noticeable. Screen quality is pretty good, in 2019 1080 resolution should be a standard but its good enough.Picture quality is kinda bad but it's good enough when you have better phone with you. I noticed battery life seems really good. Runs apps properly with occasional crash which is common .A little slow with simple games ( I've only played Pokemon GO and Templerun. Keep looking, you get what you pay for...

This is not a good tablet. I got it for a little over $100 and I was stoked. I had previously had samsung phones and was happy with them, so I thought this would be a good purchase.. WRONG. It was so slow out of the box and came loaded with adware. Overall it has a nice screen, but the screen is very unresponsive. I didn't give it one star because, well, the price is good at least.

Ok for streaming media, with a few caveats

I bought this for my in-laws who are in their late 70's. All they would be using it for is to watch YouTube videos, that's it. With that in mind, this is an excellent tablet. Nice big screen (almost 10 inches diagonal), clear and sharp picture quality. The internals are good enough so that steaming videos is seamless with little or no buffering. However, when I used it for a couple of weeks to test it out before giving it to my in-laws, I noticed several aspects that make me ding my star rating for this review down to a 3/5 stars. While you can simply eliminate them from the home screen, they still take up memory space and will constantly bug you for updates, even if you do not use them. Third, along the bottom of the tablet (when in portrait position) is the physical home button, which has two non-physical (flush with the screen) buttons on either side--one is a back "return" button and the other is a "recent apps" button. Unfortunately while using the tablet in landscape mode it is very, very easy to accidentally hit any of these three buttons. I would be watching a video, holding the tablet in landscape mode--naturally--and I would inevitably hit one of those darn buttons and instantly be taken out of the video and either to the home screen, back to whatever screen I was on before, or to the recent apps screen. Very, very annoying! Now, I did this several times over, but I was always using the tablet with no cover or case. I did buy a case for it, which somewhat alleviated the problem because then I could hold on to the tablet's case rather than onto the tablet itself and not touch the tablet at all.So in essence, if all you want to do is stream media (and that's it!), this is a good bargain tablet. But if you also want to utilize the internet and web surf, etc. prepare yourself for a lot of lag (I am writing this in 2020 and the tablet's internals are quite old at this point, technology wise0--it was released in 2014). And know that the bloatware will bug you for updates, and if you don't buy a case for it know that you'll constantly be accidentally pressing those darn home/recent apps/back buttons. Actually, even with the case I still sometimes accidentally hit those buttons!

I've tried over and over and over again to click on the stars to give it an overall rating of one star (and probably less if that were an option) but it just won't register. About five minutes ago I was pressing on the the x to close a screen over and over again but it would simply not react. I exercised EXTREME restraint at that point because every fiber of my being was to smash this useless piece of excrement into itty bitty pieces. I was frustrated with the latest Apple offerings and decided to try what I thought was one of the better Android brands, but boy was I wrong. This product is worthless.

Thumbs Up for a Great buy

I bought this as a gift/replacement for a broken tablet. It is identical to the one that was being replaced and works perfectly. Easy to use and easy to set up. My nephew was very excited to have it and did not even have to learn anything new to use it. I am very pleased with this selection and so far, everything is working great. Thumbs Up!
