Fantastic laptop with okay features

As a laptop, this machine is fantastic. Solid construction, gorgeous screen, and ultra-fast i7 speeds all make for an excellent user experience. The physical construction is really a step above. Normally, even with an aluminum frame, these "360" laptops simply feel too brittle to use effectively in things like tent mode, but the GalaxyBook3 is an exception. You *can* use this in tablet or tent mode with no worries. The keyboard layout, with numberpad, is great for business use and the keys, despite seeming a bit shallow, can take my inept hammer typing with ease. Audio output is average to above average, but good enough to not feel like a strike against the device. This display is predictably excellent and with bright, popping colors that actually don't seem too ... MoreAs a laptop, this machine is fantastic. The keyboard layout, with numberpad, is great for business use and the keys, despite seeming a bit shallow, can take my inept hammer typing with ease. Audio output is average to above average, but good enough to not feel like a strike against the device. This display is predictably excellent and with bright, popping colors that actually don't seem too saturated. I personally found battery life to be okay. It's not as great as you would get with some other laptops, but it's considerably better than my company-issued machine is. Be warned, though - the fast charging brick gets hot!Performance is excellent. The default RAM configuration and i7 provides more than enough horsepower for 95% of users. Gamers might want to look elsewhere, given that the device is only sporting Iris graphics, but the vast majority of users will have a top-tier experience that will last you well into the future. The included, uniquely Samsung features, however, are where things get a bit iffy. To be clear, these work really well, but since they really require a paired Samsung smartphone, they're not necessarily system sellers. Going over each:Quick Share - works well and quickly, but since most of us have been trained by this point to bounce documents and files off of online storage services or email attachments, there's not really much additional benefit found here. Quick Share, once you've paired your device and linked your Samsung account, is a fast and tidy way of sharing files, but again, this is only really going to impact people who already use Samsung phones. To put in another way, you're not really missing out on much if you're an Apple user and you're interested in this machine, which in a roundabout way is a plus for the computer. If you do use a Samsung phone, however, it's a nice extra. Given that we have to live in a world where our jobs (or schools) insist on us using something like Microsoft Teams, even where you can transfer photos and files pretty quickly and conveniently, you'll still more than likely be using some other service to do the same job.Multi-Screen: okay, this feature is actually pretty awesome. If you need or really benefit from having two desktop screens, this feature will actually impress you. Beyond being able to control your tablet with your laptop controls, Multi Screen makes expanding your virtual workspace both easy and beneficial. You can an MS Office window in full view and actually manipulate while having to observe your coworkers' faces and posts over Teams and Zoom meetings. Students can easily keep a digital book open and scroll through it while attending class (I'm not going to say anything about doing this while taking an online test). There are scores of practical applications to this, and the implementation is smooth and painless. Multi Screen completely obviates the need for a second portable display or multiple tabs running in a browser window. In short, it's pretty impressive. BUT to get the maximum benefit from it, you need a Galaxy tab. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, since Galaxy tabs are pretty impressive in their own right (best Android tabs on the market), but it's a real shame that this feature kind of binds you to the Samsung ecosystem if you use a different manufacturer's tablet. This is the real feature that people who are interested in this laptop who aren't daily Samsung users will miss out on.Private Share: This works well enough with a paired phone, and is certainly better than sharing files over potentially unsafe email attachments or online storage lockers, but this really only provides an additional layer of personal security for either 1) the kinds of things that there are better ways to protect (i.e. sensitive files like tax forms and encryption) 2) personal items that arguably don't need an additional layer of protection, like family photos and videos. Yes, the user experience is pretty easy and seamless, but you frankly shouldn't be sharing some kinds of documents with your phone in the first place. This does provide an excellent means for securely dumping really sensitive things you may accumulate on your phone (say something you received in an email attachment), but again it's arguable you shouldn't really be toting around extremely sensitive info on your phone in the first place. In short, Private Share does provide a pretty nifty and easy way to shuttle files back and forth between your phone and computer, but the usability of this feature is going to depend on your comfort level with keeping sensitive content on your phone.Perhaps the greatest thing about the Samsung feature suite, and this can't be stressed enough, is that it's unobtrusive. Instead of mucking up regular use of the OS or constantly nagging you with pop-up windows, these features sit in their own little box on your Windows taskbar and wait to be used until needed. They absolutely won't get in the way of your work, and their "in the background" implementation is perhaps their primary strength. Viewed this way, as a set of extras that augment your laptop experience if you need them, the feature set included with the GalaxyBook is an excellent perk for those who already use Samsung devices, but not something everyone else needs to worry about missing out on (Except for Multi Screen). In short, this is well-crafted, light, sturdy laptop with hardware that should last you years and is strongly recommended for anyone who needs a business laptop upgrade or who needs a reliable and powerful computer that will carry them through undergrad (or graduate school). An excellent computer, but not one you should necessarily purchase simply because of it's included features. This is okay, though, since the core machine and user experience is simply fantastic.

Although it's not a gaming laptop, I'm pleasantly surprised that SIMS 4 runs smoothly. The AMOLED screen and Dolby Atmos sound are also impressive. In terms of performance, I've run multiple documents, tabs, presentations, and Photoshop without issues. The battery lasts 10-12 hours when I use it for work at medium brightness.Although the fan was switched on more frequently in the first couple of days, it became silent after I completed all the updates. The only downside I've noticed is that the webcam could be improved, but I think most of the laptops just don't have decent cameras.Overall, the Galaxy Book3 360 is an excellent and reliable laptop; It would be a great asset for students or those like me who need to collaborate, present, or deliver training at work.

They key to purchasing a laptop you want is knowing what you need it for. For gamers, you need a certain amount of power, RAM, HDD space...then you look at screen resolution, refresh rate...there's a lot to factor in. For the average consumer however, a choosing laptop may not require most of those factors to be considered, but you're also faced with even more options. I've tried a lot of different laptop options, and I must admit, with the Galaxy Book3 360, Samsung delivers a solid laptop that cuts through a lot of the noise and now has me focused on Samsung as a brand to look out for in the laptop space. To start, this screen is absolutely beautiful. Yes, it's only FHD, but the AMOLED display makes a huge difference. The starter background image used by Samsung is a wise choice as the blacks in the spacey background stand out on this screen which is something you can get used to. I've watched a few videos with it and it's stunning. The speaker quality on the Galaxy Book3 is solid, but I'm more of a headphones person myself.Once you get past the amazing screen, you'll notice the rest of the laptop isn't too bad either. For starters, it's light and thin. It's one of the lightest 15.6" laptops I've ever had. Samsung says it's 3.22 ilbs. That's either lighter then it's competitors with similarly sized screens, or barely heavier than those with smaller screens. The port selection is standard fare for the ultrabook type frame. What stands out for me is the keyboard. I'm not used to a number pad on something this small and light. The keys all have a solid feel on each push. I could type away on this thing all day. Each key has a solid backlight making the keyboard easily usable in darker rooms. The touchpad is fairly big, but doesn't get in the way of my typing.Awesome keyboard with a number pad, standard ports, awesome screen? That's the Galaxy Book3 as an ultralight laptop, however, the "360" in it's name speaks to it's laptop screens ability to bend back completely turning the Galaxy Book3 into a tablet. As a tablet you're dealing a touch screen interface (which, you can use the S Pen on) and the amazing screen. One thing I will say about the Galaxy Book3 360 as a tablet, while the keys lock (don't register clicks) in tablet mode, I wish there was some way they couldn't be pushed at all. I can see how that could create issues with keys locking up when not in tablet mode, but it does just feel weird using the Book3 360 as a tablet and feeling the keys push in.The connectivity between the Galaxy Book3 and Android phones is A1. With Phone link I can receive and send text messages as well as do anything else I can do from my phone from the laptop. Apps mirror allowing you to even use the apps on your phone from the laptop. Receive a text and have to send a cashapp? No problem, it can be done from the laptop via mirroring. While this is a great feature to access my phone while I'm locked in on the laptop, when I'm going away from the laptop quick share allows me to transfer files from the laptop to my phone in the blink of an eye. I shot a 28 mb file over to my phone in a couple of seconds. The one thing I'd say would make this laptop perfect for me is more power, which, Samsung does offer in it's higher-end models of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. Overall, the Galaxy Book3 360 is a great pickup for the average consumer looking to browse the web, be entertained, or do some school/work work. If that same average consumer is a Galaxy phone user, this laptop is an even greater choice. I'd say for anyone who happens to check this laptop out, average consumer, gamer, whoever...this laptop makes a statement about Samsung's seriousness in the laptop space, and if this laptop isn't for you, it may sway your interest in Samsung's higher end models.

The only downside I've noticed is that the webcam could be improved, but I think most of the laptops just don't have decent cameras.Overall, the Galaxy Book3 360 is an excellent and reliable laptop; It would be a great asset for students or those like me who need to collaborate, present, or deliver training at work.

Great entry level laptop which doubles as a tablet

I've really enjoyed using the laptop in tablet mode and the screen is very sensitive and responsive. I do wish that in the future, mini stands or raised silicon notches be attached to the keyboard when using tablet mode (or a keyboard freeze button option). This way, I would feel less anxious about accidentally pressing the keyboards whilst holding it upright.13.3" was a suitable size for me considering the probook3 was roughly a little bigger than A4 paper and this was brilliant as it hardly took any space in my bag and blends in really well with my hardback books.Surprisingly, the laptop arrived with 0% battery however was fully charged after only 40 minutes of using the quick charger- the battery life lasted for 5 hours until it ran out of juice again (brightness 40%).When charged for an hour to reach 100%, the battery life typically lasts 6-8 hours depending on brightness level. The display was vibrant and rich in colour with the screen borders hardly affecting my viewing experience due to the bezels thinness. This made video viewing more enjoyable and HD.The charger is a normal C-cable (same as phone charger) with no adapter which I did not expect but actually makes a lot of sense! This changed the game for me as it meant I didn't have to lug extra wires or deal with the added weight and space typically taken from a usual adaptor charger. All in all, this is a well rounded lightweight laptop that doubles as a tablet with a conveniently designed magnetic s-pen that makes it easier to complete work-related tasks and to relax. Ticks all the boxes and I've recommended this to my classmates. I have managed to get significantly more work done than normal (previous laptop) due to plenty of time being saved from charging, a more efficient keyboard (hands down the best typing feedback experience), smooth handwriting experience (S-pen) and the utilisation of multiple screen

I am thoroughly impressed with this Samsung Galaxy Book. I am incredibly hard on my laptops, and generally get the latest and greatest work laptop every year, but this is my first GalaxyBook. I’m really loving the wide screen and addition of a 10 key, which is something none of my other laptops have. As somebody who owns an accounting business, a 10 key is big for me.The laptop has the onboard integrated graphics, which will work for basic low demand games, but this isn’t something you can rely on for demanding games. Rather, this laptop excels at basic office functioning, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint. The battery life claims to be over 12 hours when using it, but I managed to burn through over half the battery within 2 hours of playing Hearthstone. One of my ... MoreI am thoroughly impressed with this Samsung Galaxy Book. This laptop also has an HDMI port, which I haven’t seen on a new business laptop in a long time… but they are so important if you plan on hooking up to a projector. The screen is very glossy, so it has a beautiful dynamic array of colors, but, it’s also subject to glare. I was out at a park with my son last week and the reflection was so bad that I had to put the computer away.Overall, very impressed. It’s light weight, wide screen, solid build, fast boot time, fingerprint scanning, and has the option to fold over. I love this fold over option, because I can bring a keyboard when I travel, and use this computer more like a monitor, and less like a laptop.

Great laptop let me start with the highlight of the pros - way to many so I'll just cover the main ones1. Battery life on this is really good outside of windows update I never had to plug it in during use.2. The size - never thought I would use a 15 in+ 2 in 1 but the weight on overall size make it very useable - in the past I've had 13 and 14 in one and find this one more comfortable to use based on the weight3. The screen - the brightent can clarify are outstanding with only a minor drawback being the reflectivity - in certain light can make it a bit difficult to see, but this can be shifted so it's not a major problem4. processing power - is more than enough to cover most major business or personal activities - that being said it's not a gaming laptop or not ... MoreGreat laptop let me start with the highlight of the pros - way to many so I'll just cover the main ones1. If your in the Samsung echo system lots of great features that work with phone and tablets - was a little skeptical however outside of the pen cold find any issues with connects, use or transfers - have to say it's on par maybe slightly better than the fruit echo system that's the benchmark6. Upgrade of SSD - warning I'm pretty sure this voids the warranty so take this at risk - once you remove the back, pretty easy just do a youtube search - there is already a open slot that you can add a 2nd SSD - no need to do a clone to get more storage7. Great ports for a laptop - everything you needNow for the bad1. You can't upgrade the RAM - it's soldered onto the mother board - also see note above on warranty.2. Camera is not windows hello compatible - it does have a fingerprint button but facial recognition would have been nice3. Screen note about reflectivity - not a major problem and probably belongs in the next sectionNow the nit-picky things1. The touch pad is not in the center of the machine - it's offset based on having a number pad - cause a problem if you don't pay attention to your finger placement2. The number pad enter key is not full sizeOverall this is a great laptop and I would recommend it if you in the market for a light weight 2 in 1

The beautiful, large AMOLED is as perfect as it should be and is great for consuming content when you need a break. The modern specs will keep you future-proofed for a long time to come.Samsung Galaxy Book3 360==============================Samsung has been in the laptop game for years, but their first few years were (as expected), not great as they tried to figure out how they could differentiate themselves from the pack. As they continued to refine over the years, I think they realized they could leverage their amazing AMOLED screens, slim industrial design, S-pen support, and integration with the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem to make a compelling product. This is the first generation of Samsung Galaxy Books that I'm really interested in using and buying.Overall build and ports==============================This Galaxy Book3 360 (not the Pro) is still extremely solidly built and is just as sturdy and solid as the MacBook Pro (M1) pictured next to it. I had an older Dell XPS15 that looked and felt premium from the top, but underneath, the soft plastic showed were some cost-savings were made. This thing is a solid unibody-feeling device with strong hinges that can keep the screen at any position even when you're poking the AMOLED touchscreen with CLEAN fingers or using an S-pen. Additionally, flipping it into a tent configuration is easy, but you're secure in knowing the hinges will keep it the way you set it. Having said that, the hinges are strong enough to make a one-finger opening a bit tricky if the desk surface is not grippy, so keep that in mind.Ports-wise, we have HDMI and two USB-C (one Thunderbolt 4) on the left side, with a microSD, USB-A, and 3.5mm headphone/mic combo (yay!) jack on the right. I think this is just the right mix of ports and having both a USB-A and headphone jack will allow you to keep using those older devices you may still have without resorting to dongles and adapters. You can charge the laptop with the included USB-C charger or any other compatible USB-C charger. I tried it with a Dell TB dock and a Ugreen USB-C charger.Display/screen/speakers================================Yes, I wish I had a chance to test out the 3k AMOLED on the other models, but this screen will not disappoint if you don't need the high-res version! It's a brilliant AMOLED with all the qualities that you expect out of a Samsung: deep, inky blacks with brilliant color saturation. It's listed as VESA DisplayHDR500 certified and would make a great screen for digital art, photography, and video editing. Perhaps not pro-level, but certainly enough for 98% of us!Watching movies and videos is a treat - sure, it doesn't have the AKG quad speakers, but the two speakers w/Dolby Atmos are pretty good and certainly enough for binge-watching some shows on whatever streaming service you desire!I didn't get to try any video calls yet, but with two mics and a 1080p webcam (while many others are still including just 720p!) will ensure good-looking video quality even if I'm not exactly camera-ready...Of course, as a Samsung Galaxy Book3, it's got S-pen support and that worked instantly with my various Samsung S-pens (from S4 to S8) I had. No pairing needed, the Wacom technology used senses the pen instantly and you can use it for applications and for navigating Windows 11.The flexibility of the display (and the strong hinges mentioned above) make this a great place to do your digital drawing. The only thing I'd say that's missing would be more pixels!RAM/SSD===========Plenty of RAM and storage space at 16 Gb RAM and 512 Gb SSD. You also have a microSD card which is great for transferring data/photos that you may have on another device. Sure it's a microSD slot and not a full-size one, but since these became more popular over the years, I actually use them in my DSLR/mirrorless cameras inside a full-sized SD card adapter. I didn't benchmark the drive, but Samsung also makes great SSDs so I wouldn't worry about them skimping here.Special features - Windows and Samsung==================================================With Windows' own native features, you can have some nice integration with your phone, but it gets even better if you're "all-in" with Samsung phones and tablets as I'll explain in a bit.First, "Link to Windows" gives you the ability to control and interact with your phone from your PC. Sure, the device is probably within arm's reach, but why grab the phone, unlock it, and reply to a message when you can do that better/faster with your PC and keyboard? Using Phone Link on the Galaxy Book3 (or other Windows PC), you can connect it to your phone using the "Link to Windows" app (if it's not already installed, get it from the Google Play store). For my Samsung S23 Ultra, I just had to pull down the Quick Settings and toggle it on. Once paired/confirmed via QR code, you're ready to remotely control your phone from your PC! Now you're ready to answer messages, use apps, control your phone, see/move photos and more. It's a great way to interact with your phone without interrupting your workflow.Next, let's talk about the Samsung features like Quick Share, Private Share, and the game-changer Second Screen!Quick Share is Samsung's version of AirDrop in the Apple world. You can quickly share files with friends near you that also have Samsung devices and Quick Share enabled. With the Book3, the use-cases would be sharing links and photos from your phone to your Book3 or vice-versa. In my example, I found a surprised Pikachu image I wanted to share to my phone. This would be useful for sharing high-resolution photos and videos from your phone to your PC without taking up storage in Google or OneDrive. Just Quick Share it to your Book3 and do your editing on the beautiful AMOLED.Private Share is similar, but think along the lines of SnapChat or other app where you can control more of the security aspects. With Private Share, everything is encrypted and you can set an expiration date! Also, you can't "capture" the Private Share data via a screenshot, making it good for sensitive data.Lastly, my favorite feature, and the one that really makes me take a long look at the Galaxy Book3 Ultra (you know, for gaming!) is Second Screen. I happened to have a Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra that I love for drawing, and all I had to do was swipe down for settings and enable "Second Screen". I then choose if I need faster response/refresh (for drawing/gaming) or smooth output for videos. After that, hop to your Book3 and press Windows+K and you should see your tablet available as a choice. Select it (you can allow mouse/keyboard/touch/pen input as well) and you're all set. From Windows, it acts just like another monitor! It's set to duplicate the display by default, but you can make them individual by choosing "Extend these displays" and position them just like you're used to! This really worked well and was very smooth and responsive. This is a game-changer for me, because I love traveling with a laptop, my tablet, and a secondary monitor. Now, I can ditch the secondary monitor! Sure, you don't "need" a Samsung Galaxy Book3 to use "Second Screen" (newer Windows PCs are fine), but you do need a newer Samsung Galaxy Tab S7/S8!Conclusion========================I'll be honest, I was NOT interested in Samsung's notebook lineup before. I love their phones and tablets (LOVE S-pen) and who doesn't love their display technologies used in their screens/TVs/monitors?Their new Galaxy Book3 series really is compelling! My Galaxy Book3 360 is powerful, thin, flexible, with a beautiful display and I don't have to sacrifice ports (or anything for that matter) for it.Samsung really did a great job this time and if it fits your budget, I think this Book3 360 (and maybe some other choices in their lineup) will keep you happy for a few years.
