This was my first Salomon pack after wanting an upgraded capacity coming from another brand. I tried on the adv skin 12 and found it a little tight but this Cross Season fits great! I love the extra 15l capacity it has and reassuring 2 top openings one with a sealed zip and the other a role top. Very sturdy secure bag even with only a light pack it still sits well with no bounce. Very comfortable, I'll probably use this throughout the year now due to the huge carrying capacity with not really any extra bulk. Highly recommend if your after something bigger than the adv 12 or want more weather resistance or even just more security when it comes to storing kit in the pack. I just find having 2 huge top openings far more reassuring than one rear zip and one loose top ... MoreThis was my first Salomon pack after wanting an upgraded capacity coming from another brand. I just find having 2 huge top openings far more reassuring than one rear zip and one loose top opening like the adv 12, certainly in the dark I know nothing will fall out anywhere. I think when I do my 50 mile plus self supported runs this packs going to be great. So far I've ran in one use 22 miles with it but probably got about 60 miles in total with it so far.

Love this bag, a little heavy but it’s the only all weather option. I like my Raidlight ultralight a little more because it’s much lighter and waterproof but this bag offers many more pockets. The liner is thick which is a con but it holds a lot. Please: HOW DO YOU ATTACH A QUIVER

I bought this for an upcoming multi day race with a lot of mandatory kit, which I was struggling to fit in my usual pack (12l adv skin). I love the adv skin so took the plunge for the 20l even though it isn’t custom quiver compatible. Took it out on a run in the hills, I struggled to access the side pockets, I had food fall out. The side mesh pockets are not as easy to reach as other packs, you almost had to be able to dislocate your shoulders to get to them. I think because the pack is shorter (short even for me and I’m 5ft 3) and deeper, it’s quite uncomfortable. I also ended up feeling like due to the layout of the pack and the side pockets not being the best placed I was no better off than I was with the 12L. I reverted to an old montane pack. Advantage was it ... MoreI bought this for an upcoming multi day race with a lot of mandatory kit, which I was struggling to fit in my usual pack (12l adv skin). Bought this for extra capacity over my other packs that I use for 100 mile races and the waterproofing feature. Used it for Northern Traverse 300km. The good: roll top entry is better than side zips for easy access. Pack fits well without bouncing. The bad; the bottle pockets are ridiculously tight. They have no stretch. Had to buy salomon speed flasks as they were slimmest style of bottle and even they were almost IMPOSSIBLE to get in the vest. The so called easy hook system on front chest straps really aren't easy with cold hands. Actual available storage space really isn't that great as there is no stretch in the material. Fine for shorter events up to 100 mile max (depending on kit needs) but definitely not a multi day friendly pack. That's on me I guess. ... MoreBought this for extra capacity over my other packs that I use for 100 mile races and the waterproofing feature. Used it for Northern Traverse 300km. Fine for shorter events up to 100 mile max (depending on kit needs) but definitely not a multi day friendly pack. That's on me I guess. Storage options up front not as good as I would have liked. With full bottles there's really no way to use the pocket in front and if you fill them then its even harder to get refilled bottles back in. I also had items work their way out of the front mesh pocket. I added an OMM compressor pod to the rear to get more usable storage for the race. Overall disappointed as the pack is comfortable to wear but little frustrations in long events wastes time and also become issues in combination with sleep deprivation!
Love the size of this pack and waterproof material. Very similar fit to my other Salomon running vests. I read reviews saying that it’s hard to fit soft flasks into the front pockets, but I had no problems using my soft flasks from my Salomon Adv 12 vest. I’m 5’9” 130 lbs female and small fits snug. It’s perfect for really long adventures (I’m planning to use it for a 200)
