M husband and I have bought and loved this shoe over many years and multiple pairs. They were comfortable, durable and gave us much pleasure on our walking and hiking adventures. Unfortunately the last 2 pair that I purchased both did not last. Inside of 3 months the back spine broke down and became uncomfortable. So disapointed that I will not purchased again.

All the comfort and fit of previous Salomon hiking shoes but has developed an awful smell of cat urine. I don’t have a cat and have dried the shoes throughly on a boot dryer when wet. I have never had this problem with a Salomon shoe or any other shoe. Very disappointing

I have always loved the way Salomon shoes fit my feet … generous toe box, slim and steady through the arches, sufficient tread and just the right slant and angles to fit my heel and ankle bones. I have tender feet but love to hike. I’ve endured plantar fasciitis so wear custom insoles and your shoes have always given me the support and comfort I needed. I ordered this new shoe sight unseen because the backcountry stores I frequent are chronically lacking in inventory now. It’s a nice shoe but doesn’t fit like a Salomon. I’ve worn it

I bought this shoe because I had a similar shoe from Solomon for years that I loved. I finally wore them out and bought this one assuming it would fit the same. I was wrong! This one is too wide for my feet and feels like it was built on a male last. I can't get the laces tight enough to fit snug so my heel slips even with thick socks. My feet sweat in the shoe. I have never had this issue with any other shoe ever. This sole does not provide enough support. I haven't taken them hiking yet but just wearing them for daily use my feet are tired and hurt. Very disapointed and do not recommend.
I've had this shoe for three months now. I bought it to replace a pair of Salomon GTX ultra low I had which they didn't have a replacement for at the time of this review. The shoe is great for lateral movement. Nice toe box. But it's hot. Like really hot. This has never been I've something even considered before. They also ride really high on the heel. And overall they are a BIG shoe. Not my favorite. When these are done I will look for elsewhere for a replacement.
I bought these shoes looking for the perfect summer shoe. I really like them and will purchase again if I wear these out. Have already tested waterproof, stepped in puddle accidently and they kept my foot completely dry. Very comfortable with good arch support.
I've been buying a pair of Salomons waterproof day hikers every couple of years when I see them on sale. I really like them. I wish they made them in wide widths. I size up instead but they would fit even better when I wear thick socks if you could get them in wide sizes.
I love Salomon shoes but now, dont know Why they are made wider then before ?I always buy the same size, but now they are too wide. My feet coming out, when i walk, even though i attached drawcords thigh. I bought those shoes but dont feel it would be safe to go hiking with them. And for that reason, I will not buy Salomon shoes online anymore. At least, their should be a note, on your website, that theses shoes fits Wider, so customers dont get trap too...
My go-to shoe for hiking - I can always depend on Salomon fitting me with no concerns about blisters or sore feet. For this particular shoe, I like the heavier sole and darker colour for those days before it snows for conditions that are wet and muddy. Like the way they can be “hosed off after wearing”.
I had the X Ultra for about 7 years and they functioned as a great sneaker/hiking shoe throughout the national parks and beyond. These are very comfortable. However I have a narrow foot and this new version is a bit boxy and stiffer. I think the stiffness may be because they are waterproof and the last pair were not. I am willing to get used to that since being waterproof is a nice plus. These will be more of a hiking shoe for me, not a soft, flexible sneaker, which is fine.
