I had a couple pairs of the previous versions (with the MFF footbed - used my own footbeds and those boots were outstanding). Unfortunately, the newer models with a built in arch and (I think) different last/sizing means that this version does not work for me. I've tried different insoles, but still have problems with hot/pressure on downhills. I wish I had purchased 3 pairs of the older version. These may be better for some people, but really a sad change for me. I used the older ones for on/off trail hiking, peaks, light backpacking. I have a medium forefoot foot (with narrower heel).

Worst boots I've owned in 40years of hiking. Quite comfortable but both leaked like seives from early on. The 2 year warranty is just a joke as Salewa used the excuse of wear and tear and the fact they are lightweight boots, to cover poor quality and cheap materials inadequate for any footwear, far less a walking boot. First, and last time, I will ever go near this brand and be sure to share this experience with others. Not fit for purpose.

I think it's unfair to give these boots a low rating just because they run small. I'm an 8.5/9 in street shoes and at least a 9/9.5 in most hiking boots and shoes, but in these I had to take a 10. Totally worth it! They're the perfect marriage of a lightweight and flexible, yet decently supportive upper and a burly, sticky, rugged sole. Would I wear these to carry a super heavy load over multiple days? No. But for just about everything else, they're perfect. The heel lock cable system is incredible. Once I got the laces dialed in, my heel has never slipped. They're very comfortable once broken in (do it slowly, which I learned the hard way!) and they served me well on a rainy, challenging 7-day Kilimanjaro expedition. I didn't slip once on wet rock, dirt, mud, or packed snow, and I felt confident in my footing when we had to traverse some inherently slippery loose scree and slush on the steep descent. Highly recommend!!

these boots are just lovely. they look stylish...the colours are just so good to see in a ladies boot. they withstood heavy rain and huge pools of water and didn’t let any in. they offer good ankle support and excellent grip. i was a little concerned about comfort having ,always gone for a fabric boot previously but they were comfortable too and guarantee no blisters...how about that!i did go up half a size after reading previous reviews and i’m glad i did, lots of room for my double thickness walking socks.
This is my 2nd pair. I love these boots! The first time I wore them they saved me from breaking my ankle - when I was rushing back from a hike 😬 and my foot slipped and rolled off a rock - these boots stopped my ankle from going any further. They earned their value that day😂
These boots are great just like the last two pairs I bought. From day one (4 hour hike) I had no problems with any blisters and they felt like a pair of slippers with no (breaking in required). Even though it was mid May in the Okanagan my second outing (4 hour hike) ended up snowing with some very slippery rocky sections and the boots held firmly. I have already recommended them to others.
I wore the boots inside for a few days because I tend to have issues with one foot (hallus limitus) and both heels - the boots fit well. When hiking, I have had a minor issue with one foot/big toe because the toe box is slightly narrower compared with my Merrell boots. No issues with my heels. Good ankle support, grip and fairly light. I wear 9 and bought size 9, I wish I had tried 1/2 size larger.
Fits true to size, takes some breaking in. They look great! Not clunky and ugly like a lot of hikers. The arch support conforms weirdly to your foot at first, due to the lacing support and the collar rubs above the ankle. These grip the trail great and are very light. Will need more time to really break in and see how they feel.
Comfortable boots with a functional mix of stiffness and flexibility. Offers great stability, support, and protection. Overal great boots!
Update to my first review. Boots are three months old now and falling apart. Besides not being waterproof, one boot has a hole through the so called Goretex material. Garbage, dont buy, stay away
