I bought this recently - it is the worst bike rack I have ever used. Where to start!1. The hitch pin is not standard size so you can’t use your normal one.2. The hitch “pin” are bolts - so anyone can take it off3. The upright arm moves backwards and forwards, while in the lock position, around 40cm. Yes 40cm. It’s because the hole that the bolt goes through is too big.4. The rubber attachments break far too easily5. You can’t fit small mountain bikes on6. The lock doesn’t work

Pros :strong frame and good builtCons :Does not fit regular hitch pin 5/8" and no quick releasecomes with unconventional threaded hex headed bolt -hard to replace( size is between M10- M12,even Rola customer services do not sell replacement parts)Frame tilts forward once the safety pin removed, possibly damaging the vehiclebike carrier is not stable out of the box- need to improvise with additional mount brackets

Perfect fit for my Hayman Reese towbar. Easy to use. Very compact for storage. Love the tilt feature so I can access AWD tailgate without having to remove the rack.
In a technical sense this product is not for for purpose because it does not have an effective restraint to stop the bike from swaying. I have advised Rola directly on this as well as advising your store manager
Quick overview* Good Points- Price appears reasonable- Hitch pin is a bolt which makes for a secure hitch connection- Integrated locking system- Tilt function* Bad Points- Twist in units frame- Doesn't feel overly secure and sways- Hitch pin is a small bolt which prevents use of generic hitch pins and then requires tools to remove from vehicle adding time and effort.- Frame cradles aren't wide enough to accommodate a mountain bike frame.- Frame cradles sit too far apart and a smaller frame will not fit, these cannot be adjusted.- No number plate holder or solution just a warning in the instructions about displaying one correctlyI'm not sure if this is limited to my unit only but it appears as though mine was a Friday afternoon special where ... MoreQuick overview* Good Points- Price appears reasonable- Hitch pin is a bolt which makes for a secure hitch connection- Integrated locking system- Tilt function* Bad Points- Twist in units frame- Doesn't feel overly secure and sways- Hitch pin is a small bolt which prevents use of generic hitch pins and then requires tools to remove from vehicle adding time and effort.- Frame cradles aren't wide enough to accommodate a mountain bike frame.- Frame cradles sit too far apart and a smaller frame will not fit, these cannot be adjusted.- No number plate holder or solution just a warning in the instructions about displaying one correctlyI'm not sure if this is limited to my unit only but it appears as though mine was a Friday afternoon special where it came out and they said, "That'l do."Not happy and wouldn't be recommending to anyone.
This might actually be the world's most stupidest design. Unless the frame of your bike is made of small diameter cylindrical metal (no bike since the 1990's) it will not fit in the cradle. Any bike smaller than a large adult bike will not fit over the two ends of the cradle and will have to go in the back of the car... There is approx 1cm of play at the base of the bike rack which equates to about 5cm of play where the bikes sits. They just rock back and forth and this cannot be corrected unless you take a drill bit and add your own secondary bolt. Literally garbage.
Seems well built but had some design issues so needed a couple of mods to make it work better which we could do since it was strong enough. It didn't work with original pin for hitch, came with a threaded bolt which wasn't long enough to fit all the way through on the Prado Hitch. We drilled out the threaded hole so we could just put the standard hitch pin in instead. Also had to reduce slop in top pin by putting a sleeve in the inside hole as the hole was too big. Other than that the fact it only folds down part way means it doesn't clear our rear door which swings out but will be used for our trailer in future so not a problem.
Two problems . No1 Square tube into tow bar held in by stupid threaded bolt ( should be the existing pin with clip . No2 . The distance on frame to take bike top bar (men’s bike ) is not adjustable !!!! Have normal men’s frame and it will not fit!!! Ladies and kids bike will not fit !!!! Wasted $200 plus .
Would not tighten on standard 50mm Tow Bar Hitch, locking Bolt is exactly 50mm and does not pass through Hitch to allow the Safety Pin to attach, could not attach full size mountain bike with out scratching bike frame, secondary securing strap to stop bike movement could not be attached to bike, no location for rear number plate to be attached - don't waste your money.
