After watching the incredible decline in quality of men's traditional polo shirts over the last couple of decades (mostly due to outsourcing to inferior overseas factories), I decided that I would comparison shop and purchased polo's from a number of different "better" manufacturers. The winner by a large margin was the Gunn polo. Superior material, superior workmanship, superior styling. The only caveat, and this is stated in their sales information, is that the sizes run small and whatever size you are accustomed to in the US you would need their next larger size. Thank you Gunn for providing me an option again to have some decent polo shirts! Would definitely recommend to anyone who recognizes quality.

In January 2024, I bought a couple of shirts and T-shirts. Unfortunately, after wearing one of the shirts only once and then washing it, the logo got damaged when I ironed it. When I tried to return it to the St. Luke's store, the sales staff were unhelpful and refused to replace the shirt. Their argument was that they hadn't encountered such an issue from other customers. While I appreciate the quality of some of their products, their sales approach and rude staff could damage their reputation. I won't be purchasing from this brand again unless they agree to replace the shirt, which cost around NZD 130.

The Gunn Original Fit Polo (XL) fits me very well as I prefer a classic fit rather than a slim fit. The quality is very good and long-lasting. This polo shirt can be worn to both casual and formal occasions, e.g., good restaurants. I like to wear dark, neutral colours, so I normally purchase the ebony (black) and eclipse (navy) coloured polos. I highly recommend the Gunn Original Fit Polo.

Ive been buying R&G items for several years, largely as I like their styling, quality fabrics and reasonable pricing. This is exemplified in the two Gunn polo’s that I recently purchased. It’s a softer material than some of my other polo’s so very comfortable. I’ve learnt to size up for a sports fit (for me) so this is XL rather than L, which wears perfectly. Soft cotton means that I don’t need to iron. I have these two shirts on high rotation.
Satisfied with the purchase however a couple of things would have made a big difference. Colour wasn't, true to the on line pictures. One of the shirts Appeared daekerin the picture. Almost terracotta. Why are the polos so long in the body? I used to buy quite a bit from your store years ago,and decided on the two polos I chose because you stated words to the effect, original style. That was what I envisaged I was purchasing. That was not the case. Much lighter material, not as stiff in the collar and way too long. I'm size large and 178 cms. These shirts were almost night shirt length. My opinion. Not entirely dissatisfied and there was no need to return. Price and deal offered, excellent. Call me conservative, I probably am, but you asked for my thoughts. As usual, all R&G polos are great to wear all year round for my partner. He absolutely love the colour and the sport (slim) cut because you can wear it out instead of tucking it in to his pants like the traditional (regular) cut. Note to buyers, the fabric between the regular and slim cut are different despite similar/same colour. We found slim cut fabric is thicker and tighter woven than the regular cut, so have a feel in person and decide for yourself.
As usual, all R&G polos are great to wear all year round for my partner. My partner initially tried the slim cut and decided to purchase the regular cut instead to go with his shorts then we found out after we got home the fabric between the regular and slim cut are different despite same colour. The cut didn't really go with his pants/shorts and the fabric felt thin so we had to return it and swap it out for the slim cut. R&G was very helpful in exchanging it the next day and acknowledged that fabrication are different between the original and slim fit cut polos. So do your research in shop and decide which fabric you like.
The sports polo is a true polo fit that finally builds definition accross the shoulders and arms, whilst slimming down the waist, and has not been cut short. I struggle to find polos that are not too short or shaped like a brick, and the Gunn polo is it! I have worn it with chinos to work events, as well as shorts to social events, and they always impress. If you enjoy a good fitting and very comfortable stylish polos, this is it. Once bought, forever sold
