I bought this X8 RoboVac on '22 thanksgiving. As of last month, march of 24, the vacuum stopped work. We've been only using this RoboVac once a month as we found it just simpler to use traditional vacuum over automated vacuum because it takes a lot of work to clearing the floor before running the RoboVac. I now own three X8 RoboVacs, two I purchased at the same time and is currently on firmware 1.6.5. The new X8 came with firmware 2.2.2 of which does work better with object avoidance and mapping. I confirmed with Eufy the older units will not get the newer firmware. I am still happy with all three, have no experience with other robotic vacuums and did not really want to try so that all the filters and brushes are interchangeable, and I only need to have a few on hand instead of three different kinds. But in the end, we have had them running daily for over a year and they pick up dirt every single day. It took a little bit of work to get everything setup and mapped properly, but once you get a good map built it seems to be able to handle its job without human help most of the time. It doesn’t seem to have an issue keeping up with hair from my two german shepherds and sand being tracked in from outside. It fits under all my furniture which is great, I love knowing that those areas have been cleaned. There’s no control of the water flow, you’re simply stuck with the flow that the little filters in the bottom of the tank will provide which hasn’t been much for me. I found that the pad doesn’t really stay wet enough to mop very much without drying out and leaving streaks. The microfiber pad included is also way too thin for my vinyl plank flooring and does not completely get down into the texturing of it. That being said, the disposable pads included were absolutely useless for me. They may be alright if you have a completely smooth, level floor. Otherwise, for the $200 I paid, it’s not a bad machine. There is absolutely no way that I would pay full price for this unit though.
Let me start by saying the customer service has been great, however the product is really lacking specifically the battery. When we first purchased the device everything went well, and it cleaned great until about 2 months in when the battery/device stopped working. This has now happened four times, which is extremely frustrating. At this point I’m thinking it’s the device frying the batteries and not the batteries themselves. We have now had to request a new battery four times in the last year. My Roomba never had this issue and was cleaning a much larger area. Save yourself the headache and anxiety from hearing the bell noise and purchase a more reliable robot.

We have a black Labrador that one would suspect has alopecia, this Eufy X8, operating twice a day on a large, tiled, open plan room, really makes a difference. Well worth the five stars.
