No battery replacement for the life of the alarm means that all you have to do is run tests regularly, keep it clean, free from bugs, dust and debris and you are protected for up to 10 years. As smoke alarms have sensing limitations, it is recommended that both ionisation and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to provide maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home.
