I used to feed my Golden Retrievers Purina One Lamb and Rice. Then after researching dog foods, I switched to another brand because it had a higher rating. This was about 12+ years ago. In that time, I have had 3 Goldens. One died at 6yrs from a liver shunt. He was born with it. My oldest of the three lived to 14+ yrs. But he had multiple health problems. My current Golden (7yrs) just had a splenectomy. Recently changed are brand of dog food from Pedigree Adult Roasted Chicken and Vegetable flavor to the Purina One health Rice and Lamb Microbiome Balance. Both my dogs love it, one is a toy size dog and the other is a Labrador retriever that's over 60lbs it's a bit more expensive. However I get it delivered from Walmart using the subscribe and save feature. It saves me about 5$ off the original price. I also get free shipping because its over 35$ I feel that I save money and time. The food itself is very nutritional and has high quality ingredients, the first ingredient is lamb and it's in chunks. We fed this to our first two Aussies and had good health. One lived to 13 with no health issues. Sometimes we’d switch flavors but usually chicken/rice. With our new pups we tried more expensive brands as recommended by their breeder and one sadly, developed an awful auto immune disease and didn’t live past 1.5 yr old- probably unrelated but I decided to keep our remaking two on this food and we feel good about the quality and price. I like that this brand is very seldom- if ever- involved in any recalls like others and our vets said a lot of issues can stem from improperly used natural or whole dog foods being given lately. We sometimes add natural yogurt as a supplement and give frozen blueberries as treats.

This was the dog food the shelter fed the doggy I adopted. A amall sized bag was included with his adoption and he thourghly enjoys devouring the kibble so that it was recommended that I feed him using a slow-mo-feeder bowl which I did. He loves this Purina dog kibble dry, wet with water, mixed with wet dog food or veggies. He likes the various sizes, textures and scent of the kibble. He especially likes the pieces that resemble bacon. I call ' em "chicken bacon" and he loves 'em as a treat. (He's not a fan of many dog treats). It provides a well balanced diet for my fur baby. His coat and skin are healthy and it helps with his dental health,too. Both of us highly recommend this brand of dog kibble.
This is an excellent choice in dog food. Highly recommended by veterinarians . Purina cares enough to dedicate years of research behind their products and only adds human grade consumable quality meats with other ingredients in their pet food. My dog stopped itching and licking (clear signs of food allergies) and has a shiny healthier coat and more energy. You can see how well she has flourished from feeding her this dog food. I m in dog rescue and a lot of folks use this. Also at dog park it’s popularMy son has fed this to his lab in large breed formula and he’s going strong at 15. I believe the reason is the dehydration lamb. Kibbles are all similar. But the real meat in it is great.As I supplement with some sort of raw meat daily. Just a little. A drumstick or a beef Pattie ot a couple gizzards or liver ot chicken foot. Since I’ve been doing this they are even healthier and happy.I had issues with corn but.seeing my own eyes how healthy my grand lab is I believe in this food. A vet recently thought he was 5!!! His teeth are perfect and he’s never had a cleaning. It’s crazy but true.
