Pur Big Look Mascara 5G

I love the original PUR mascara but when I opened this I thought I mistakenly bought a lipgloss! The pink packaging is definitely not what I expected but cute. The brush pulls out tightly. This it really helps keep a good amount on the mascara wand. The brush is longer and straight with short compact bristles that stay the same length. The applicator helps add an even coat of the thicker mascara. I only really needed one coat of this to add the length and volume I wanted. I do add a second coat just to make sure I get each lash. Anymore and it becomes clumpy on my lashes. I could not use a lash primer before or it immediately looks clumpy when applying. This formula is on the thicker side than most I wear. It has added ingredients like Argan Oil (contains vitamin E, antioxidants, omega 3, and fatty acids). These ingredients give an extra benefit to the hydrate and protect your lashes. Big Look does last all day. It’s not as “waterproof” as the original formula. I use water proof loosely as the original is not branded waterproof but stayed in water for me. The Big Look formula does not stay well in water but during normal day to day wear I didn’t get any spots under my eyelids or eyes. I really like this mascara. This definitely gives the fake lash effect with minimum work but for me I think the original formula works better for my day to day lifestyle witch is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.

100 stars... amazing mascara!

This mascara surprised me SO much. I received it as part of a Ulta GWP, but I have so many unused tubes of mascara in my collection I didn't think it would make much of a mark on me; one day I reached for it just for fun and... WOW. Suddenly I had these gorgeous, lush, curled, fat, amazing fluttery lashes; I was floored.Since then I've been reaching for it almost every day... a few tips to get the most out of this mascara - it's a wet mascara so you can expect a few tiny smudges, that's no big deal just wait until they dry and remove them gently by rolling a Qtip over them. Don't let the coats dry in between.This mascara beautifully conditions my lashes; it does stick around all day until I go to remove it, but a little micellar water does the trick for a gentle removal. It's not a waterproof mascara so it may smudge a bit if you have oily lids. I've not experienced any lash loss with this mascara which is a big deal for me; I've had bad lash loss experiences with other mascaras (ahem Maybelline). I will be purchasing this mascara again once I'm done with this tube. I can't even begin to tell you how I'm obsessed with this mascara and it's incredible 'false lash' effect!!

Clumpy and Messy

I can’t believe this mascara has even one positive review. I only bought this mascara for it’s clean ingredients, because I can no longer use products that contain SLS, like my all time FAVORITE mascara that I’ve been using for years (Covergirl Flourish Mascara in black/brown... I know— Covergirl is a drug store brand, but if you don’t have an SLS allergy, TRY IT!) Ok, back to this terrible mascara... First of all, the bristles on the applicator are stiff which prevents smooth application. It was immediately clumpy and I needed to keep going over my lashes to try to smooth out the mascara. It was also MESSY. The brush fits too tightly in the tube and the bristles are stiff, so when you pull it out, it makes a loud popping sound and pulls a LOT of extra mascara out ... MoreI can’t believe this mascara has even one positive review. I was literally late to work because I was wiping extra mascara off of my face and eyelids because the brush had so much excess mascara on it, and was just straight up messy while trying to apply. To top it off, it made my eyelashes look like toothpicks. Not a natural look whatsoever and only comes in one color (black) which is a huge downside. I am just truly in shock at how absolutely terrible this $20 mascara is. The most expensive mascara I’ve ever bought, AND the worse. Overall, I do not recommend this product and will be returning it ASAP!

Great lengthening mascara

I got this mascara as part of a pür minerals set from Shoppers Beauty Boutique & absolutely LOVE it!! I'm glad it came with the set bc I never would have thought to purchase it had I not tried it first. I am a mascara junkie and have tried just about every type of lengthening mascara on the market.I have fairly long lashes naturally, but they are blonde. Also, my eyes are constantly watery & irritated from allergies & it's not easy finding eye make-up that will stay put w/out flaking or morphing into raccoon eyes through smears after a few hours. This stuff is awesome!!I get superlong, clump-free, lightweight feathery lashes with just one coat! It also ended up all under my eyes with the slightest moisture. I'll keep that one for extra drama on my tips for nights out, but it will definitely take a backseat to my "pür Big Look" mascara from now on!This is the new favourite tried & true "mascara junkie" mascara! If you love the dramatic length of fake lashes without the weight & extra work, I very highly recommend trying this. I promise you won't be disappointed!**Rating value at 4* simply bc I'm still on my first tube & will have to see how long it lasts before getting dried out & clumpy in the tube. But bc I need fewer coats, the product itself will go further than other mascaras

Needs a rethink

I'm not sure why all the other reviews for this product are at least 4 years old. I've been a happy long term user of this mascara but in the last year have noticed a major issue that may either be down to packaging or formula changes. Having said that, several of these very old reviews cite the same problem. When the wand comes out of the tube the top of the brush (the handle end) brings a huge glob of mascara whereas there's not much on the brush itself. You have to wash it off in order not to get this on the lashes. When you do get some onto the lashes it no longer glides and separates the way it used to. I have to use another lash brush to clean off the excess. And it's also dry and fragments off my lashes. Terrible

In all my 45 years of wearing mascara this is the absolute worst. I store the tube in the upright position, and every time I pull out the wand it seems it has an ounce of product on the wand. When applying to my lashes it clumps and groups lashes horribly. Unless you like the look of spiked groups of eyelashes this will be for you. I threw this out after three tries.

Terrible and clumpy

What I thought was a regular Ulta staff member recommended this to me. When I checked out, I learned she was a rep for this brand who was visiting the store, and that she'd been pushing this product all day. I thought it was extremely dishonest she didn't disclose that. I wouldn't care so much though if it weren't for the fact that this mascara is horrible. It's so thick that it comes out in a huge glob on the wand and is ridiculously clumpy when applied. This is the worst mascara I have ever used.I read some positive reviews that say it's bad for long lashes, so maybe that's part of my problem - maybe this is made for short lashes, but either way I just don't recommend it.

Worst mascara ever

This is the worst mascara I’ve ever used. I went to ulta and told them I have trouble keeping my lashes curled and nice throughout the day. They told me this mascara is the best one and that I would love it. It is so messy, clumpy, and watery that I can’t even put it on my bottom lashes. Also it does not hold a curl for more than 5 seconds! Very disappointed considering this mascara isn’t cheap and it was recommended by 2 ulta employees.

Wouldn't recommend

I bought this product because every mascara I find, is just "okay"Well, this one is terrrrrrible. I have tried using it several times in one instance as it does not apply well. There is literally no volume. While it may lengthen, prepare for the length to be equivalent to spider legs..I don't think I've ever been truly disappointed in one product.

amazing and soft

I was looking to replace the mascara I had been using because they quit making it. I spoke to a sales person and she asked what specifically I was looking for and I explained I did not want stiff lashes but wanted some length. She suggested this mascara and it does exactly what I wanted. The one con is that it is not waterproof. It is very easy to wipe away however if you cry which is what I did to cause the mascara to run down my face. It didnt burn or sting though so not horrible.
