All our experience from more than 20 years of building turntables can be found here. The chassis of the Xtension 10 is made of metal granulate filled MDF, which allows high mass and low resonance. Magnetic field feet provide optimal decoupling of the 22 kg Xtension 10, which is a perfect symbiosis of the principles of mass drive and subchassis. The special platter of the Xtension 10 Evolution is not, as in the Japanese classics, made of resonance-prone metal, but a proprietary construction of a special cast metal alloy, which is bonded with recycled vinyl plates and perfectly fine-balanced after heat treatment. The heavy platter is internally damped with a Sorbothane strip. The result is a heavy, completely resonance-free platter that slides rumble-free on a magnet-assisted inverted ceramic bearing. The Pro-Ject 10cc Evolution tonearm is decoupled from the chassis by Sorbothane and features a ground tonearm base that eliminates unwanted vibration and provides interference-free tracking. The 10cc Evolution comes with 4 different counterweights, which allows it to be adapted to almost any top cartridge with a mass of 4 to 14g. The Xtension 10 Evolution features an elegant handcrafted cover with adjustable hinges and is available in three fine wood finishes (mahogany, piano, olive).
