This product was dead after 3 weeks of normal use. I went to return it and the girl told me they would not take it back even if it is defective. I will not be going back to Best Buy. The cost is way too high I can find a lower cost one of better value on Amazon. Amazon will let me return it esp, if it is defective. Goodby Best Buy.

I ordered this online for an in store pickup. Once I got it home the hub usb-c and standard connections worked perfectly but the hdmi connection did not. I immediately reached out to satechi support to report the issue. I sent photos and a video and they sent a replacement hub. That didn’t work either. Unfortunately since I had received the replacement after Best Buy’s 15 day return window, the could not return to to receive a refund. Nor could satechi refund me. This product does not work with MacBook Air M2 laptop.I have purchase several items from bestbuy and have benefited from all of them except this. I do not appreciate not being able to return this for a refund as it doesn’t work.

I purchased my MacBook Air and realized I needed more than 2 USB-C ports. I use my MacBook to edit photos. It goes everywhere my camera and I go. But how would I read my SD card?? Well, I went to bestbuy.com for an answer and I found it! The Pro Slim Hub is slim, compact and well built. It fits perfect in my laptop bag. Best part….IT MATCHES my MacBook PERFECTLY! I highly recommend purchasing this as it will make life much easier!

Please note it uses both the USB C ports to connect to the macb. It has 2 USB A ports which I continuously use. It has an HDMI and 2 SD/micro SD ports that I havent tried yet. It also has 2 USB C ports, one of which is a pass through for charging. But i didn’t need the passthrough because i use the magsafe charger directly with the macb. The good thing about the design of this hub device is that it keeps the magsafe port of the macbook accessible. That’s a huge plus. Seems like a great replacement side multiport hub for my 2016 MBP. The only negative so far is the old USB (USB A-B) ports are so snug that you basically need to remove the entire hub when switching out a cable. Not a huge deal but it does mean you probably can't change out one cable if another one is transferring data or if you are powering through the hub and it's crucial to remain plugged in. No problems so far with the USB-C or SD cards ports.
This dongle is functional but is missing an important feature. You cannot charge and use a thunderbolt device simultaneously on older MacBook Pro models. I have the 2019 model if the MacBook Pro and it’s honestly a bummer because I have long sessions with my audio interface and battery drains quick. If there us a solution I don’t know about, I’d live to be informed.
I was excited to use this. Had been searching for something that was light and portable to be able to connect different devices at the same time. It does the job but the ports are super tight. It's difficult to connect a USB and don't get me started with disconnecting them. I have to literally detach the hub to disconnect the USB because I'm afraid of damaging the USB C ports in the MacBook.
