PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch - Black
Good controllers are important during gameplay. This black Nintendo Switch input device is officially licensed by PowerA and designed for comfort while playing your favorite game. The finish of the product is matte and its D-pad is silver, giving it a nice and elegant appearance. It connects to your Nintendo Switch system via Bluetooth 5.0 and it uses alkaline batteries that offer around 30 to 40 hours of seamless play. Should the batteries run low, a LED will let you know of this. However, you can also use rechargeable batteries if you prefer. The layout of the buttons is standard and there are even shoulder buttons on both sides of the controller. Many games require the controller to be moved in certain ways. As such, it has motion controls and advanced mappable game buttons on the bottom. Those buttons are easy to set up, just by pressing the system button until you're offered options to choose from for those buttons. The options are AGR and AGL.

Was completely disappointed with this product. It works, it functions as it should. Problem started when I opened the FedEx packaging. The box had a faint dried liquid stain on it. The corners were worn. Looked like it had been moved several times. Not sitting in storage only before sale. There are 3 round transparent stickers to seal it. One each side and 1 on the back. All 3 cut, sides only replace with scotch tape. Now I'm put off by the fact that this has been opened before. With the current condition, I feel and know this product needs to be classified as used due to the packaging being opened/tampered.

Despite the gorgeous artwork and colours, this controller will not last long. I have had 3 of this same model: 1 of which was a blue/silver motif, same series, one of which was a warranty claim from Power A, the company in question. In all 3 instances, the left analog stick would begin to 'drift' downwards, or flicker erratically. Makes gameplay or even menu navigation unreliable. This defect was present within 2 months of use, and in the case of the warranty replacement, started to appear within 2 weeks. The defect is consistent and not been corrected even in later runs of the same model.Further, the controllers are not 100% compatible with the Nintendo Switch. I bought this controller in I think June so, it hasn't even been a month since I bought this controller. And like a week after I bought it, it started drifting in the right joystick it wasn't that bad so I didn't think anything of it. But a week later the left joystick started drifting as well. And then the drift started to get even worse it's so annoying when I play Minecraft or any other game. I try and look up it goes down I try and Sprint it stops so. I'm just planning to get the pro controller made by Nintendo. so just don't risk getting this controller. Because yours might end up having drift as well.

This controller is really cute but felt very light as in like cheap thin plastic. It’s does not feel worth $60. It had a very slight rattle to it. Like a tiny piece of plastic was floating inside of it. It worked fine for a few months but then one of the right bumpers started sticking and it was like you everything just went to the right on its own. It was completely unplayable. I was mostly only playing Animal Crossing so it’s not like I was really pushing those buttons playing a fighting game. I have two friends who have the same controller and they have the same exact problems with theirs. I returned it and will not exchange it for another Power A controller.
Good quality controller with great value. It seems to do it all and the kids sure like it.Has the haptic feedback, which is nice. Also, it has the onboard gyro. pretty cool feature. Just tilting, twisting and rotating the controller in the X, Y, & Z axis' sends the input to your respective game. Very cool feature!Has the type C USB port for charging. Battery seems to last a long, long time.
Not sure if I purchased 2 faulty controllers, but more than likely just not great build quality when it comes to joysticks. All I play is Mario Kart, so after a month my first ones left joystick felt like it was broken inside. Would randomly get stuck in the down position causing drift. Returned it with protection plan to get a replacement. Used second one a little less to see if I could prolong the life of it. Well second one had the same issue after 2 months. Build quality just doesn't hold up like I need it to. I also have the PowerA nano controller just like this one and the build quality is soooo much better in it. Had it for 9 months now and still no drift or stick issues. If PowerA would improve the quality of parts used, I think this would be a great long ... stopped working like other reviews in about 8 months. Bought a 1 yr protection plan through walmart. won't let me do it online because Nintendo doesnt exist on their site. call the number they say it's still under warranty with Nintendo, i have to go through them. so what was the purpose of buying a warranty through you?! i bought that to avoid Nintendo! Nintendo has been the nightmare i thought they'd be. spent all day trying to convinced them its broken. finally they send me an email with a shipping label and instructions. They might REPAIR it, not even replace?! but i might have to pay for shipping. also i pay for bubble wrap, box and to print shipping label then I have to go to a ups location to drop off. shame on Protection plans by Allstate and Nintendo.
This controller has my ideal ergonomics. It's comfortable to hold in my large, long-fingered, man child hands. The coating on the frame is smooth and feels nice to the touch. The controller is matte black, so it doesn't show dirtiness. This is a blessing and a curse. Your friends won't be afraid to use the controller because they won't see it covered in grease and months of cheesy snack stains, but you may be less inclined to clean it. In my experience, not cleaning this controller regularly will lead to buttons sticking down when they are depressed.I do not eat food while I play games, and I don't think that I'm a particularly heavy user. You must be diligent about cleaning this product. This is an issue with all controllers but I believe I experienced this issue earlier than with other controllers across a variety of consoles.Outside of this issue the product is wonderful to use. As mentioned it feels great to hold, you can keep a solid grip on it, it pairs easily and has great range, and the buttons/sticks have a nice tactile feel and are very responsive. There are grip buttons, and a button under the middle of the controller. I haven't found a use for these yet but I appreciate having the option. The controller charges via a USB-C port which I am super happy about, and the controller holds a charge for much longer than I would expect.
I've got two of these controllers, both for under a year. So far so good. I have had 3 switch pro controllers, 1 just died and the others are starting to suffer from joystick drift. So far I haven't noticed any negatives with these controller. They have 2 mappable buttons along the bottom on the inside of the grips. This controller is lighter than the switch pro controller, and a little bit less comfortable. The battery life has been comparable to that of the switch pro controller. All in all, I think this is a solid choice and has become my go to controller for the extra buttons on the grips. An added bonus is that this controller goes on sale frequently. I spent about half of what a pro controller cost on this one. If it ever goes out, it won't break the bank.
if your looking for a controller look else where.this controller has been in my home for less than 24hours fresh from the box it has this horrible drift it moves where it wants making it impossible to use. If it wasnt too late I'd return the whole system this is the 3rd nintendo controller i have purchased and they all end up this way this is just the fastest i have experienced it. i wish i could include a video to show you how bad this is. save your money buy and Xbox they have more dependable gear.the shopping process was great shipping was fast and pain free. i feel bad for walmart having to keep this on their shelves.
