Plantronics Backbeat Fit 6100 Wireless Sport Headphones (Black)

The headphones came in really cool packaging. First impression was that they were light and felt very comfortable on and was easy to setup and connect to my phone and laptop, but did not like the placement of the controls. The power switch was located on the bottom right of the right ear headphone, but the location of the play/pause, volume and advance controls was on the right side of the headphones. In order to control the volume, etc... you had to do up/down/back/forward motions on the flat surface of the right headphone (see photo). It was extremely annoying because every time I increased the volume the music would pause or advance or stop. If I wanted to answer a call I was increasing the volume or advancing to the next song. I you want to adjust the headphones you will accidentally touch the controls because they are very sensitive, could be good if they can be locked to prevent activating accidentally.Sound quality is not too bad, has decent BASS but the sound could be crisper. It would have been great if it was noise cancelling, especially if you are at the gym and do not want to hear all the background noise. I tried jiggling my head and did some running with them on and they stayed put, but not sure how well they will hold up to the constant sweat if using for workouts. I prefer to use earbuds for working out, although these are comfortable. Definitely will not stay put during rigorous workouts but fully adjustable. A cool feature is that you can select mic on/off to hear if someone is calling you. Battery life if great with up to 24hours.It is water resistant and sweatproof. I forgot to mention that although this is bluetooth it comes with a headphone jack so if you plan on using this on an airplane you can totally connect and not use the lame airline headphones. Overall, not bad for a sport over-the-ear headphone in this price range. Decent sound and volume but the controls are what made me give it 3 stars. I think there are much better ones out there for the same price with better sound quality.

Battery life on these is fantastic at roughly 24 hours, but I've yet to fully test that aspect.The touch controls actually worked better than I expected, and actually better than some more expensive Bluetooth headsets I own.There are some oddities and shortcomings on these headphones that should be noted as well:1) For circumaural closed back headphones, these are NOT noise cancelling. For this price point they are close enough that if this is important to you, it may impact your decision. Noise cancelling is a must in my opinion for things like plane rides.2) Micro-USB to charge. Mfgs of wireless charging devices really need to make the switch to USB-C. There's no reason not to use it as the power source is still USB-A and USB-C makes it much easier to plug these in and charge them.3) The "Open MIc" feature seems a bit superfluous to me since these aren't noise cancelling headphones and the mic actually picks up a lot of random noise, so the stuff you want to hear doesn't really come in much clearer and you get amplified local noise.Overall these are solid headphones for active types who want a pair of durable headphones that are rugged and easy to clean.

I never once had to worry about running out of juice, no matter how much I sweated or how hard I worked out, which was fantastic!!They were not just light weight comfortable on my head and my ears, but they kept out all outside noises, so that I could concentrate easily upon what I was doing and yet, even while listening to my music up loud, if someone spoke to me, I could hear them perfectly.I have never owned a pair of headphones like these, headphones that could do all of these things effectively, especially shutting out the outside world, while still allowing me to hear what I wanted from the outside world.Excellent clarity is what I found on phone calls, with easy to use touch controls, I could still make and receive phone calls, all without missing a single beat, while the sound quality and reproduction from all of my music and pod casts, was a phenomenal state of being, these headphones felt like to me, if heaven had a feel, it would definitely be modeled after my Plantronics "BackBeat Fit 6100's"..I'm a professional audiophile and I would emphatically recommend these headphones 100% and to literally anybody in need, of only the best pair of headphones that they will ever own, I am truly in love with my "BackBeat Fit 6100" and they will be too, just as I did upon first fitting and real-world use, thank you Plantronics, these headphones definitely knock it out of the park!!
