This product is amazing! First, the packaging is sleek, minimalistic but luxurious and has that heavy feel to it that I love. This cream has a super thick, whipped consistency but a small amount goes a long way. It just melts into the skin like butter you can really feel your skin soaking it up, almost like a Sponge as it ansorbs instantly! It's non greasy, insanely hydrating and leaves skin soft, renewed and moistured for 24+ hours! Leaves skin glowing on its own but smoothes skin out allowing a perfect canvas for makeup to glide on seamlessly! It not only moisturizes but it improves skin texture, aids in evening out skin color, fills in fine lines diminishes pores. It truly does wonders for your skin and leaves it feeling baby soft and looking extra radiant!

Best HIAJ since orig formula discontinued

🤗 FINALLY!! A worthy replacement for original HIAJ... I LOVE IT!! Before this newest formula came along, I was extremely unhappy when Philosophy discontinued the original HIAJ formula! Their alternative moisturizers just didn't work for me, and for years I had to purchase after-market expired jars of the original from eBay... which weren't always fluffy and fresh, but better than nothing. I am absolutely THRILLED that Philosophy was finally able to come up with a HIAJ formula that is impossible to tell from the original... same fluffy-ness, scent, coverage, benefits and doesn't sting my eyes!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 😍

Best HIJ so far!

I started using HIJ about 16 years ago. The formula has changed a bit along the way but that’s a good thing. The product seems to have aged with me. I NEED the glycolic acid at 66. I use Purity & the Microdelivery wash then When Hope Is Not Enough Serum followed by HIJ. I can slather this moisturizer on without worrying about an oily face. My skin just drinks in both of these products. Since I like things simple and a no makeup look I use Bare Minerals Prime Time primer and Laura Geller balance & brighten. Thats it unless I’m somewhere pictures are taken, then I add a bit of IT Bye Bye Pores. It’s like a soft focus filter.

Bring back Original

Oh, how I miss the original Hope in a Jar moisturizer! I have tried every brand of moisturizer on the market trying to replicate HiaJ. The original formula didn't burn my eyes if I worked up a sweat-firstly because my skin absorbed it so well. Never felt like a film of grease on my face. Secondly, it was so clean and non- irritating, never caused a breakout on my 55 year old skin. Everything I try is either too light, like all the water gels that don't really moisturize, or it is like grease/Crisco on my skin. Still searching for a dupe.

Bring back the original formula!

Please bring back the original Hope in a Jar. This new version is sticky, greasy and thick-not at all the light consistency of the original formula. I have extremely sensitive skin and this new formula, even using a tiny amount, made my skin break out.Most importantly for me is the fact that I used the original formula until it was discontinued. I am blessed with 22 great nieces and nephews and had felt that the original Hope in a Jar would be perfect for them to use with Purity Made Simple to introduce them to a lifetime of great skin.I implore Philosophy to bring the original formula back. This was an icon in the industry and sometimes a better mousetrap is truly not better at all.

Love Philosophy

I’ve been using this face cream for a long time. Only need a little bit. Not greasy.I suggest that you buy face products from here. I bought IT Moisturizer from Amazon last year and nine months later I got an email that it was fake. Not from IT. I was told it could be dangerous. Well geez nine months later it was gone. So I will trust QVC to sell me the authentic products. I will only buy face products here. Saving a few cents not worth the risk.On another note. Philosophy please bring back the bundle I got a few years ago. Included super size miracle worker day and night cream. 4oz of the serum When Hope is not enough and super size purity.

Lovely, light face cream. Miss the citrusy scent.

I have been using Hope in a Jar for several years now and like it very much. When I first started with it, it had a very pleasant, soft fragrance, very light, a little citrusy. I liked it very much and was surprised to be seeing reviews about it and complaining about the aroma that they found unpleasent. And sure enough, the next time I ordered it, that faint scent that I had like so much was gone. Not unpleasant, but just gone. I still like it as a face cream, but I do miss the lovely scent that it had when I first orderd it.

My favorite facial moisturizer ever…

I’ve used “hope in a jar smooth glow moisturizer” for approximately 2 years. I’m in my early 80’s, and I’ve used a multitude of moisturizers over the years. I can’t honestly tell you who brought my attention to this moisturizer, but I’ll never use anything else. It is more costly than other face moisturizers, but it’s worth it. It lasts me about 5 months. I love the texture, the slight, very clean smell, and the cool feeling on my face. It immediately sinks into your skin, and your makeup goes on smoothly. No greasy feeling. I love this moisturizer dnd will buy it over and over again.

New isn't always better

I'm writing this review, & hope that someone in the Industry,will take some advice with the product Hope in a jar, from philosophy.I first heard about Hope in a jar, on The Oprah Winfrey show.years ago.and it was on her list of her favorite things & I thought well I'll try it & see for myself, & I loved it .So why would a company want to go & change things.When they got a big endorsement from Oprah Winfrey, on national TV all over the country with millions of people watching about they're product Hope in a jar.It reminded me, of when Coca-Cola, done the same thing years ago but the difference was they realized the people wanted the original back on the shelves. You took a perfect thing and screwed it up

This “Smooth-Glow Hope in a Jar (and the one before this—the “Renewed Hope in a Jar”) both suck compared to the true, original Hope in a Jar. They don’t hold a candle to it. Ever since the company Cody bought out Philosophy, the products have gone downhill, fast. The version of Hope in a Jar when Christina Carlino created, owned and ran the company was the Holy Grail. It was a perfect, whipped yet rich moisturizer with the best most clean scent, and most importantly, it delivered a glow to your skin (the product itself even had a slight shimmer/glow to it). I had acne prone skin at the time and that version actually cleared by skin up (combined with Purity cleanser and weekly Microdelivery Peel (2 step). Then as my skin aged into my mid to late 30s, it still perfectly addressed my slightly aging, more combo/dry skin. It was a miracle product. All of the “Hope” products since Cody bought the company suck in comparison. This particular version of HIAJ left my skin feeling sticky and with a film on top of it that never so soaked in. The OG Hope—my skin just drank it in. This one leaves my skin looking dull, pores actually look larger, makeup just lays on top of it looking bad, and the worst part is it makes me break out. I know it was this product too because I stopped using it for weeks, my skin cleared, tried it again, and within 2 days it was pimple city—location: my whole face. I’ve talked to sooo many people—women and men—who feel and think the same way about the fact that Cody changing the original formula—it’s a tragedy. They’re just too bummed to be bothered to write a review because they don’t think Cody will ever bring the Philosophy original formula for Hope in a Jar back. Sadly, they are probably right. I continue to mourn its passing. I certainly won’t be buying this version again and I think I’ve given up on trying any future “versions” of HIAJ unless I start to hear that the OG original is back—the one with a glorious glow :). I think a lot of people who think this product is good never actually experienced the original, so they don’t even know what they’re missing. Philosophy, I’d love to give you my money, but not for this disappointing product. I will keep buying Purity cleanser though; I’m grateful that’s still very good.
