The Pentel 500 series mechanical pencil is well balanced toward the writing end and it sits well within your hand. I use it for some freehand and technical drawing. I have used many other mechanical pencils but this is one of the best. The price for me was very reasonable. However, I would like to note that the manufacture especially around the knurling-grip end was a little discontinuous-so maybe it was just mine? otherwise a very good instrument.

Fantastic quality of mechanical pencil, the lead is extremely fine which makes it perfect for those tiny details in my drawing like eyelashes and little skin details. Good comfort to hold doesn't get heavy or uncomfortable after using for a while.

It’s a good mechanical pencil writes well but it’s not steel bodied only the grip is metal (aluminium) the lead holder and clip are the only steel parts on this pencil if looking for a full metal mechanical pencil then I would look else where

Very good writing/drawing instrument. I use it daily. Tough. It is easy to erase and to change leads.Though, it can be difficult get get eraser refills.
I was looking for a heavier weight 0.9 mechanical pencil and this is perfect! the grip for your fingers is a nice touch, probably one of the better mechanical pencils I've tried
I've been using this pencil for 4 years, not for drafting but for normal use. It has a metal grip and the overall design is very sturdy and feels high quality. The only issue is the included eraser is tiny and you have to remove the end cap to access it. Overall, it's a long-lasting high quality tool.
First we got the GG1000. Then this GG500. We liked the GG500 so well that we ended up buying about 8 of them. The GG1000 is good, but ours were more fragile and a couple had malfunctions. The GG500 is not all aluminum like the GG1000 but we find it more reliable. And works just as well. Recommended!

i’m used to the normal, cheap mechanical pencils you can get from the shops. this one isn’t too much of a leap, but is much better quality and retains a good weight despite being metal.it’s great! :D
Having more than just .5 lead versions was a good selling point. The fact that you can also remind yourself of what lead type is in the pencil by twisting the head top is another. Very much like the metal part of the pencil. Gives them a professional looking aesthetic. The price was a little high but I guess you pay for quality don't you?
