Pelican 7600 Tactical Flashlight

I work for United Airlines as a mechanic with 15 years of graveyard shift out of my 32 years. So I have been through hundreds of lights from high end to low end. United gave every aircraft maintenance technician a free pelican flashlight like this except it was anodized and engraved with a case, a wane also. The light is one of the best I have owned. The light light has 4 setting, super bright, bright and low with a strobe also. It also has red and green, great for marshaling aircraft. Green is also great for reading faint part numbers on various components. I like the light so much a didn't want to use it and mar it up so I bought the same light in black to use at work. They also make this light with a red, white and blue instead of red green and white. For me green was my best use as I use it a lot to read part numbers. Blue is for night vision I believe.

I'm an owner and frequent user of a SureFire G2X. I've burned through so many batteries that I started looking for a rechargeable alternative. This light is extremely well built and feels like a quality product through and through. Visibly brighter than the Surefire by about 1/3. I did not think I would use the red or green LED's very much, but as it turns out the red is quite useful when I get up in the night and don't want to lose my night vision. The ability to program (through a button click sequence) the lighting levels and their order was a welcome feature. I chose a high-then-low program, and cut out the medium. I poured over the features of at least 50 flashlights from Surefire, Nitecore, Streamlight, Fenix, Maglite, and a few more before settling on this one. Favorite features: All metal, rechargeable with a USB wire only (no separate charger needed), red LED for night vision, programmable tail button, excellent clip, waterproof, competitive price, and that "sturdy pelican feel".

Incredible lumens. Great lens, light

Incredible lumens. Great lens, light density, dispersion, incredible reach. Integral red and blue lights vs. lens adapters makes functionality unmatched. Prior Pelican experience with battery charge endurance unmatched. Beyond excellent materials and design. That it is rechargeable at this price is unheard of otherwise. A really great product in a class of its own.

Law enforcement. Used as a small light to carry all the time. My other light is the Pelican 8060. I own a rechargeable mag light and streamlight. The Pelican lights have replaced them in my duty gear. This light is amazingly bright on the high setting. The quality of the light is what I expect from Pelican. I love the convenience of charging using the USB port on the computer dock in my patrol car. Five other officers have bought the light and love it.

Love it

Best flashlight Ive ever owned. I love it so much I just bought a 3rd one One for the truck One for work One for the house .. My work flashlight Ive dropped it so many times its ridiculous and it still just keeps working . Ill buy a fourth one if I can justify to my wife why I need another. Lol

Nice but can be better for price

Overall solid flashlight body and construction, however I've had to return mine twice to the company to get replacements due to faulty power/program button. Good thing it is a lifetime warranty. Very bright in its brightest mode. Will light up surprisingly far. A little big, I like that I can use regular 18650 batteries in it however they provide a special 18650 battery that is made so that only that special one will show you charge level warnings and indicator light. If you use a regular 18650 you loose the ability to see any charge level.Other beef I have was its programing options. You have to memorize a special sequence of quick half-presses of the power button and then a longer press to change programs. I dont have a great memory and find it too much of a hassle to quickly change a program if I want to change the order in which light intensities are sequenced.The default program will start with the brightest and then down to the lowest with strobe between, which is a bit annoying as it takes four half-button presses to get to the lowest intensity and if you make one too many you have to start over again. I like the strobe but I would have liked the lowest setting to be the first. You cannot have it both ways. There is a program where you can have the least intense the first to come up but then the strobe option is not available. I find the brightest intensity nice but it drains the battery very quickly. I have to economise my light usage for the day if I am to keep using the brightest function. The light gets very hot too if used for more than a minute or so. I've unfortunately lost my light somehere in the plant. (I work in production maintenance). I am trying a different model and am so far very happy with it. Fenix UC35

Not worth the time and effort

Is there a more worthless product? Yes, Pelican claims the light is programmable. Well good luck with that. I could not get it to reprogram. Calling the West Coast consumer sales line put me in touch with someone who sounded like she was at a bar while trying to do a service call. The customer support consisted of stating exactly what was in the poorly written instruction manual. I called the East Coast office and it was marginally better but still ineffectual. I am not sure I really need a stroboscopic effect from a flashlight. This turkey of a product will be heading back to the supply depot soon.

love both of my pelican lights & will never purchase another Surefire light

great price especially considering all the features included. after owning 2 of these lights ill never purchase another Surefire product. this flashlight has red, white & blue light modes. the user can change colors quickly & easily. there are several programable output sequences. can be battery powered or charged internally via USB. the internal charge lasts a very, very long time + its conveniently easy to recharge the light when needed. a Surefire light w/ this many features & lumens would cost 6-10 times the price but this PELICAN has a lifetime warranty
