I got a Large after much internal debate and it turned out to be for the best. I am forever between a Large and a Medium. The size calculator recommended a Medium and the 6'1" model, my exact height, was wearing a Medium in the picture. I am a fairly skinny individual coming in around 160lbs, so you'd think I would want to size down but I prefer to have plenty of length in the arms and have it just slightly on the bigger size. So I took the risk and after a few wash and dries the Large proved to be a perfect fit. Also the fabric happens to be very comfy and the construction of the garment appears to be solid. Thanks Patagonia

I just wanted to comment on the button down shirt size. I have Patagonia button downs in various fabrics that I purchased 20+ years ago. YES, they are still in great shape and have the traditional 20 years ago size. Very comfortable! The new shirts are cut thinner in both the body and arms. My wife and I measured both old and new shirts and they are different . If you are like me and keep shirts until they actually wear out expect a slimmer cut on the new button down shirts! Still great shirts just a bit smaller than I am used to and like.

I've had the Fjord Flannel medium weight for about a year now and love it. Based on that, I went for the light weight version. Also love it, except for the length of the body. For me, being somewhat long waisted, it is about 3/4" to 1" too short. Interestingly, that is not the case with the medium weight. That being said, the rest of the fit and the comfortable fabric have already made it a favorite.

The best part about Patagonia garments? The ability to find the best fit on these luscious shirts. Customer service allows you to really find out if the particular shirt is right for you and they will accept returns and let you try another for the exact right one. Once you settle on the perfect shirt, it will get better with wear and wash. I am a delighted fan.
I wear a large in everything Patagonia makes. I am 6'4" athletic build. Received this shirt as a Christmas gift. Barely made it past my belt. Compared to other flannel shirts made by Patagonia I believe it is 2 or more inches shorter in the length. XL will probably be too large and baggie. May have to go with another style. Any suggestions?
I'm not the biggest fan of this flannel, though it is definitely high quality and fairly warm for a lightweight flannel. I wore this over a capilene cool longsleeve hiking in high 30s/low 40s in Arkansas and I was more than happy enough. My biggest gripe is that it shrinks A LOT and becomes much smaller than a good medium-sized flannel, especially compared to the midweight version which is quite a bit bigger. In my opinion, a flannel should also be a bit "too big" so that it can be layered over a fleece or sweatshirt. Also, the single-pocket design is extremely questionable, especially with how small the pocket is and how the bottom of the pocket doesn't really allow anything to feel secured inside of it. Also, the single-pocket design is extremely questionable, especially with how small the pocket is and how the bottom of the pocket doesn't really allow anything to feel secured inside of it. Even with a small pair of sunglasses, the pocket barely closes over it, and is essentially full. Adding on top of that, cover flap for the pocket is highly prone to becoming 'crooked' after a wash, which is always the biggest red flag for me when it comes to flannels. For reference, the midweight fjord has two very large pockets, and both have remained sturdy through several washes. If you're looking for a good lightweight flannel option, I would just go with the REI Wallace Lake -- it's cheaper, doesn't seem to shrink nearly as badly, and the two pockets it has are extremely sturdy (arguably sturdier than any flannel I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot).
I love these shirts. I have four of them each in a different colorful pattern. Nice to button up to look nicer at work or dinner; or, wear unbuttoned for that grungy concert look. They are very light but also very warm and cozy at the same time. Great for winter, fall and spring. Only complaint is that after first buttoning the buttons feel super loose like they could fall off. None have fallen off yet and could be sewn back on if so but I am very gentle with the loose hanging buttons when buttoning so that I dont lose any. Keep making great comfy shirts! Ill keep buying.
Overall I’m extremely pleased with this purchase! The shirt fits greats, looks great and has a warmth about it without the bulk of other flannel shirts from competitors. The regular fit shirt has just enough room to layer over a T-shirt if needed on extremely cold winter days. The blue plaid hue of the pattern is not overly bright and not overly muted. It is just right and pairs well with jeans or chinos. This is my third purchase from Patagonia and I will definitely buy more of these lightweight flannels in different colours as they become available. Thanks Patagonia and stay safe everyone.
I am 5'8" and 165 PDS. I prefer a looser fit and went with a size large. A medium is my suggested size. The models are all skinny, and no doubt a medium fits them as shown. I do not have a large gut, but a size Large is still better for me. For my height, the sleeves are very long in a medium or a large. The flannel is very soft. I suggest cold water wash and very low temp dry. Better yet, just let it hang dry to avoid any dreaded shrinkage. Patagonia is my go-to brand for quality items with a fantastic guarantee.
I've been a customer since day one. As I write this, I'm wearing patagonia gear that spans nearly three decades. The shirt I'm reveiwing is one of those items I've wanted for a long time. They look warm and comfy, and I live in the mountains. But I rarely see a color or design I'd be happy with. Last year I saw one that was, yeah, I could live with that. So I ordered it. Fit is great. Tailoring is superb, and the fabric is very nice. I really wanted another one. Especially since my wife got one remarkably similar to mine... So she ordered the tidepool blue for me. The colors looked promising. When it arrived, I was surprised, and yet not. The colors looked promising. When it arrived, I was surprised, and yet not. Being a photographer, I recognized the problem: some colors just don't reproduce well online, regardless of the quality of monitor. This shirt suffered a bit from that phenomenon. But worse, the photographs don't begin to convey the contrast between the colors and the white. It was blinding, and way more flashy than I care to wear. So, we returned it.I've come to depend on Patagonia for clothes that fit small/skinny people. And many of your designs I treasure. But for many years now, men's colors have ranged from corny to Microsoft. It's as if men couldn't possibly want a piece of clothing that was just drop dead beautiful. And flannel plaids are a perfect place to offer something that is simultaneously masculine and gorgeous. I just don't get it.There was a point when Patagonia's mens clothing colors, and sometimes cut as well, shifted to boring/dirtbag/jcpenny depressed. The only notable recent exception I can come up with is the capilene air crew and hoodies (I own both mens and womens). I bought a mens last year in a knockout dark teal. What an amazing piece of kit!I know you're capable. There's a perspective on life that was once there. And it no longer is.Surprise me next year. Please!
