We were persuaded to purchase this microwave over our choice of replacing our Sharp Carousel. Unlike the Sharp, it doesn't have any options to defrost, so whether it's beef or vegetables, the defrost only has the standard option, obliterating chicken and nuking vegetables. Defrosting and reheating is really the main thing you use microwaves for, right The jacket potato option, which I often used with two children, is horrendously bad. Tonight, I ended up boiling my potatoes for 20 minutes on the stove, after 15 minutes in the microwave for 3 potatoes. The microwave doesn't weigh your produce like the Sharp does, and the options are non existent or ridiculous. A little early to put this microwave through all of its features, but so far, great. I had already owned the combined Convection/microwave flat bed Inverter but often required the use of both convection oven and/or grill and a microwave simultaneously. I decided to simply buy the microwave version as well. Great customer service at JB and the model I looked at was on special, but out of stock, so the sales assistant offered this dearer model for the same sale price. Very satisfied customer.

Amazing product, initially i thought its not that great however, after using it for more than 3 months i can confidently say, the heating is great, universal. items are better when they come out of this microwave. However i don't like the cooling off feature as its hard to distinguish when its run time finish and when the cooling off finishes. they both have same tone. the screen could be brighter and the complete tone could have been louder to know its completed its cycle.

We had this microwave previously for about 6 or so years and absolutely loved it but then it died so went and got a new one 3 days ago. Went to use it and made a loud grinding sound and then would stop working so took it back and got another one then next day. Came home and got it out of the box went to use it and its making the same grinding noise. I dont know if its a faulty batch or something because the one we had for about 6 year we never had a problem with. Iβm very disappointed because we love this machine but not the news ones.
This is a great microwave, and I am really happy with the purchase. It's slightly smaller than my old microwave, but being a flatbed with no turntable, I can fit bigger dishes inside it. It's great that it has an inverter, so e.g. 50% power is a true 50% power, not turning 100% power on and off for a few seconds each at a time. My only gripes with it are that there is no numeric keypad to enter times directly, and you can't just put something in and press the start button to turn it on for 1 minute.
Our microwave is quite high up in our kitchen and we used to find the turntable in our previous microwave getting knocked off its tracks very annoying. This microwave doesn't have that problem, and it heats just as evenly as our old turntable one. It's easy to use and overall we're very happy with it, although I knocked off one star as the digital display is quite faint and difficult to see from certain angles - this is mainly due to the fact that it's on a higher shelf though, so may not be a problem for everyone.
Unfortunately it's not the right model for me, I visited the Good Guys today and the machine will be replaced with a genius modelExcellent service by the store. I would recommend the Good Guys. The salesman said the flatbed had genius features but it does not.I therefore am unable to recommend the flatbed Panasonic.
Quality of this unit is excellent. The switches work well when pressed. The door opener 'switch' does not require much effort to get it to open. The FLATBED i.e not a turntable inside the oven, works well. Consider that if a lot of slippage occurs when cooking food too fast, that may be a issue for you as there is no well to contain spillover of liquid. The displays are bright. I noticed uneven lighting inside the oven. Perhaps from having only one side lit? Our ex microwave wore right through the turntable groove (steel sheet) due to rust. No chance of that happening now. This is a good microwave.
THe product fits into the wall and powers up ok. Chops took 9 minutes to defrost. Rice took 15 minutes from room temperature to cooked. Sausages took 6 minutes to defrost prior to barbequeing. the disappointment in the power of the machine is immense. Please explain Panasonic. My $50.00 1000watt from Kmart did so much better.
The microwave stops sometimes mid cycle. Pressing stop/ reset doesn't help. As there is no trouble shooting section in the manual I couldn't identify the cause. I go it to start at the beginning by randomly pressing buttons. I do not use the programmed menu options as the food cooks unevenly. Put my frozen meal on for double the rwcommended time and it was cold in the centre and warmish on the outside. It is easy to clean. The flat bed design means you can get larger dishes in there and don't have to wash the turntable plate. .
